If you love drums, Slipknot is your band. I worked a concert (in Iowa) where they had zombies on stilts in the crowd and at one point the drummer (RIP Joey Jordison) flipped upside down for his drum solo. They are absolutely insane performers and their fans were super friendly.
There’s 9 members in the band in total and are numbered off from 0-8, the original members were 0 - Sid Wilson (turntables) 1 - Joey Jordison (drums) [passed away in 2021) 2 - Paul Gray (bass) [passed away in 2010] 3 - Chris Fehn (percussions) [quit in 2019] 4 - Jim Root (lead guitar) 5 - Craig ‘133’ Jones (keys) 6 - Shawn Crahan (percussions) 7 - Mick Thompson (lead guitar) 8 - Corey Taylor (vocals) 1 - Jay Weinberg (Drums) [2014-2023] New members are 1 - Eloy Casagrande (Drums) 2 - Alessandro Venturella (bass guitar) 3 - Michael Pfaff (percussions)
You guys should check out Anthrax w/ Public Enemy Bring the Noize. This collaboration of metal and rap goes back to the late 80's...... I was a teenager at that time during all this evolution of rock/metal/rap exploding the music industry 🤘😎🤘
You guys would love the videos for Slipknot's "Nero Forte," or "Spit It Out: Live At Download," or "Unsainted," or "Before I Forget." Guaranteed high traffic reaction videos for ya. If you want some other great Metal Core stuff, try "Pisces: Live Session," by the band Jinjer or "Watch the World Burn" by the band Falling in Reverse. Both of those groups would give you deep rabbit holes to explore.
Next up - The Devil In I - A lot have a reaction to the video as it's sorta over the top but the song is fantastic and if get that each member is showing their personal fear in the vid, it makes a bit more sense. Like that you're discovering my favorite band.,
Loving the Slipknot, but if you want to really expand your sonic horizons, Corey Taylor fronts 3 different bands, and collabs with a shit ton of people.
RIP Joey & Paul! Des Moines and the rest of the world miss you both dearly. ❤
You need to hear Slipknot’s song ‘Spit It Out’ to hear Corey rapping, and the drummer, Joey Jordison, was voted one of the best drummers in the world
Yes bro this one
Spit it out live 09. Great performance and crowd control.

Mixing metal with rap was also done in the 80s. Run DMC, Beastie Boys did a tune with Aerosmith, Anthrax with Public Enemy come to mind.

Spit It Out. Awesome song and more of a rap style
Pops knows his research! Not many ppl know Shawn and Joey who maintain the drums created slipknot and also the bassist Paul Grey, Rip
Duality is my favorite Slipknot song. Three Days Grace was Animal that I've become and I liked Riot, by them.
Also, Slipknot usually has 8-9 members. 2-3 of them are one form of percussion or another. Shit, they use a beer keg as a drum!
Duality needs to happen soon!
hes done it already

This is literally the tip of the Iceberg… Spit it out, Sic, My Plague, Eyeless, Everything Ends… way harder
