A good friend of mine owns BT51EKB - the James Bond L322 - I have done many miles in it. I can put you in touch with him, I am sure he would be happy for you to do a video of it and take it for a spin. It is in lovely condition.
I bought a L322 in 2004 TD6 love it, still going strong, 168k miles on original 5speed auto box.still running on original rear air suspension and shocks. Will keep it for another 20years.
This gives me confidence I’m currently looking for a td6 Not too worried about maintenance, I’ve been a mech for the past 34 years Any area’s in particular that I need to pay attention to before buying ?
2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography on 188k miles, love them do everything you ever need, +38 summer, -24 winter, snow, flooded areas, off road etc, I can put a 3 meter length in it, sit 5 people comfortably in it and a dog and the interior still looks new. Look after them maintenance wise and regular oil changes and they will look after you, and best of all give you that feeling when you drive it
I bought my 4.4 tdv8 2 weeks ago, i spent a week driving it to a from work and I didn’t get all the fuss about the l322. Then we took the wife’s Hyundai out and I got it within 2 minutes of being in her car. These cars are special and have ruined every other car.
I love how you can clearly feel the passion behind every single one of your videos, this one in particular of course. Along with rewatching Top Gear/The Grand Tour endlessly, you’re up there for getting me into cars and fuelling my passion for it. Such a refreshing watch, looking forward to the massive Range Rover parade (hopefully there’s a mechanic there, just in case) Greetings from Italy, cheers
Love my 2011 HSE Lux. Best vehicle I have ever owned. I found your channel when I first started thinking about getting a Range Rover. The L322 is my favorite by far.
Great video! I absolutely agree with your points. I had my first L322 (TD6) back in 2009 when I was just 21! I’ve always had Range Rovers since and have just got back into a 2010 TDV8 as my tow rig. Absolutely fantastic, familiar & practical vehicle! I too will now always have an L322 on the fleet 👍
Just picked up my first L322 ( 2006 4.4 ) about a month ago here in the states and so far absolutely love it. I already had an 02' Mini Base which was my daily driver and I bought this thing with intent of it being our weekend away vehicle. But I find now I hardly drive the Mini anymore. So far I've replaced the Amp and Bluetooth module but I knew it was in need of replacing going into it. A couples weeks ago I noticed the solenoid valve for the hvac wasn't functioning properly ( hot air blowing on my side and the rear) So swapped it out for a $30 Amazon part and works like a dream now.
Ive owned a 2004 4.4 v8 petrol Range Rover since 2021. Absolute beut of a vehicle. Great engine with no turbos to blow. 15mpg is not great but to be expected from a vehicle of this size / weight. Look after it and it will look after you.
I love the title sequence editing! I can't imagine a less interesting car to me than a 22 year old Range Rover, but I was enthralled and charmed throughout by the presentation and the quality -- this is so excellent. Thanks for sharing your passion for this one!
My L322 arrives later this week. Thanks to you and various other well-known UA-camrs and car journalists (one who has now become a farmer…) I have bought one. I can’t wait. I’m also lucky to own an L405 but the L322 will be more of a workhorse. And when (note the positivity) I win the lottery I’d like to add a L460!
This may sound a little childish but, if the production values go up and up, why do Range Rovers and Jags always perform poorly on reliability? Always liked them but never owned one.
Watching this makes me want to buy one of these. The enthusiasm and passion you have for it really rubs off. The love you have for the l322 is the same as me with the MK2 Skoda superb. Luxury, classy but immensly practical, and can be a bit of a sleeper with the right engine.
Great video. Having recently gone through serious medical issues, I thought it's now or never, so bought a black 2012 4.4TDV8 Westminster. I now 100% get the attraction of these lovely vehicles, so regal, and like driving Blenheim Palace in a Lazyboy armchair, love it.
Thats such an Icon the L322, eveeryone had them, every celebrity, every rebuild on yt is on the L322. Matt this is youre territory and we can certianly tell, great video as usual, your knowledge is amazing! :D
the visual and sound production and delivery i must say is outstanding ..some decent kit used .. plus i want an l322...been subscribing since day one ..
am not a total [modern ] car fan , definitely not a range rover fan ,,, the way these videos are layed out and presented , with varying content with what seems to be an honest take on things makes this site one of the best to view ;;;
Absolutely fantastic video Matt, very enjoyable indeed. I’ve always wanted an L322, ever since they came out and had always said I’d have one and I couldn’t be happier with my 2012 Westminster 4.4 TDV8. Love all of your content but particularly the Range Rover stuff. Keep up the great work and look forward to more L322 content 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🫶🏻
I replaced the timing chains on a 5.0 supercharged V8 one of these at work last summer, putting out about 500BHP, it is quite possibly the most impressively fast car I've driven, for the size and weight of it, it went unbelievably well, it put the Audi S3 I'd driven the week before to shame! All while being as comfortable as if I was on the sofa in my living room. I will remember the reg of that car forever, RR10 ADS.
I'm pretty sure every British Automotive UA-camr has had, currently owns, or wants an L322 Range Rover. I do get it, it's got the classy, subtle yet recognisable looks that I think the L405 just doesn't have. That said, I'm not an SUV person so I wouldn't have one (more for the rest of you that way) but the L322 does get a pass for being at the very least a cult-classic. Superb presenting as ever Matt, looking forward to the Part 2 video.
Love this! The maddest thing is I also liked the P38, as soon as the L322 came out, I wanted one, I’m now on my second- a 5.0 supercharged who’s is ridiculous and I love it, also I reg checked the bond one too 😂
You've sold me on this model, Matt. My dearly departed dad always liked Range Rovers, but in his day they had 2 doors, Marina door handles and a starting handle! So, if I ever decide to pay homage to my dad's tastes and buy one, it'll be a L322. PS: I think this is one of your best ever videos.
I've still got my L405 (2014 4.4 V8) & love it. I've always had a sideways glance at the older L322. One day, I'll be tempted to buy one. I know it. One can never have enough Range Rovers.
After 239k miles, I am still smitten 20 years later, with our, since new 2004, L322. NA 4.4L BMW V8, Epsom Green with Sand, Lux, HSE. Range Rover nailed it with this one.
Awesome video Matt. Please make more of these review-type videos with interesting cars. Even though they demand a lot more research and video editing I bet. It's such a nice style of informative review. The price perspective with a similarly year Defender is as mindboggling as it is hilarious, very well done!
We had an L322 as our wedding car in 2003 - amazing car and I agree it still looks good all these years later. I remember the touch screen hinged so you could get to the cassette player behind it! A post-facelift L322 is peak Range-Rover.
I've gone from an 05 4.2 sc to a Discovery 4. And at the end of the day it was a sensible decision. My brother now owns the l322 and whenever i see him, I have to take it for a spin. Think I'll be on the lookout for another one but not as my daily.
I’m such a geek was just about to write in the comments about 51 plate L322 in die another day seconds before you mentioned it lol,I’ve never seen another since ,cheers fella 👍💪😉
Wonderful video - new subscriber/used to live in Cheshire so these cars are very familiar to me. Neighbor just bought a 2011 L322 here in the US - someone really looked after it because it is in gorgeous condition - paid ~$9500 for it - no major issues on the history sheet. Tempted ...
Finally a new concept video.. and a very good one. The "I bought a cheap xxxx" is really getting old. Videos like this and "should you buy" series are much more interesting and informative then dirty 300£ end of lifetime cars. Take care Matt and thank you for good content.
The parts of the video that did not feature Matt directly sounded like he was reading a prepared script and not as authentic. Variety is good and personally I love the cheap bangers best of all
The BMW parts bin L322 4.4v8 is absolutely the best! I’ve had two of them and watching your video has me thinking that I need to get another one! And that v8 sounds fantastic when you give it all the beans. Who cares about MPG when a vehicle makes you feel that good?
Awesome content Matt! You couldn't of said it any better. The one your driving the bmw 4.4 V8 is my choice of engine too. So much car for very little money. So what if it breaks. If you enjoy owning such a luxury 4x4 then you'll keep it on the road ❤
The early 2000s is the peak moment in all time car design, even more so than the 60s. I'll die on this hill. We look back on cars like the L322 and the BMW E46 and E39 with fondness now - imagine how this era of automotive design will be looked at in another few decades. They'll be worth an absolute fortune and be drooled over in museums. And I'm with you on Land Rover steering wheels. Something very old school about them - thin and they always feel bigger and slower than other marques, which suits the vehicles. Nobody should be in a rush to do anything in a Land Rover, the footballers and cocaine dealers can keep their SVRs... Gun to my head though, and there's absolutely no logic to this....but I'd have a Defender. And I will. Running my Freelander 2 for another 12 months then going to sell it and buy one. And I know it'll be the biggest most expensive pain in the arse ever.
Great video matt and very interesting love the l322 RR and i honestly think they look timeless and regal so now im near 60 i think i should sell my volvo v70 2.4d and take a chance on one only downside to them is the ridiculous high road tax 😔 keep the videos coming matt 👍
I had a bmw engined 4.4 V8 Vogue, 2004 53 plate. The way it went from a standstill to 30mph was astounding! not just because of it's size and weight, there's many a sportscar that can't accelerate like that! Range rovers are THE BEST car in the world, THE ONLY car that does absolutely everything you could want to an amazingly high standard. The only downside (there's always a downside 😞) is you do need to maintain them and that can cost a bit more than an average car BUT that's because it's not an average car! I owned mine for just over 2 years, it was 18 years old when I bought it and all I done was service it (religiously) and change one air bag (which was about £175). It was 100% reliable and I towed a caravan with it (also the best towcar ever!) just rememberd, I also replaced a aircon hard pipe which sprung a leak, which was very reasonably priced from a main dealer. If you haven't owned one, you need to!! Just don't fall into the L320 (RR sport) trap, they are not the same car and do not drive anywhere near as well!
I’m a massive fan of the l322, I’ve had one for years, love it. I’m the same Age as Matt and can remember the wow the first time I ever saw one, I drive other cars, but the l322 is my favourite by far
I remember first sitting in one of these at the Motor Show in Birmingham - it was Bourneville Purple, and such a beautiful thing! Still want to own one, one day...
@@HighPeakAutos you go over and above mate, well done... The videos and presenting are absolutely first class... As a car enthusiast it's a awesome to follow your reviews and opinions 💪👍
I have always loved Range Rovers, something about them has always had an impact on me and I agree the styling of the L322 it is timeless. When we bought our SUV it was a Porsche Cayenne S, beautiful but very firm, no adjustable suspension and I never even considered a Range Rover at that time, I certainly would now.
It was the L 322 that got me interested into Range Rover, at the time I was only 25 and no way could afford one , now own the velar and wouldn’t drive anything else but Range Rover, despite what people say , modern ones are pure luxury, classy , and off road not much comes remotely close .
Agreed - i have the Velar HSE r-dynamic with added air suspension. Drives a dream. Had some issues but Land Rover have been great to me. Had mine from new in 2018
I remember these being launched, the interior design and materials were game changers at the time as well as the fact you could get a diesel which had half decent performance AND economy!
Had my 2005 supercharged since 2015. Only done 50k in 10 years so fuel consumption is not a major issue. Been very reliable. Cant justify changing it so i will keep it and enjoy.
Love these shapes, regal....some bugger keeps blocking my rear gate in one, it's a weird metallic dark red with a cream leather interior & l love it. 😁
I have a 2008 l322 3.6L TDV8 ... I take it off road in Kenya at least once a month and it delivers ... In my opinion ... 2000s SUVs are the greatest all round off roaders ... Whether it's the 100 series LC, L322, Patrol, G etc ... There's just something about them and I'm stuck in that time
I've never owned a Range Rover. Many years ago, a neighbour had a gen1. I feasted my eyes on it everytime I saw it. The other day I spottet a black Velar at the supermarket. Nice 😃
Thanks for this video. Having owned a 2004 Vogue and currently on a 2008 Vogue I can heartily agree with your views on this wonderful marque. I shall trade up to a 2012 model soon and that will be the car I shall then keep till I pop or it pops. These are just such iconic vehicles as you say. Nothing like them ever made. Yes there are the Toyota boys but not for me. Likewise I agree your opinion on the L405 and the other RRs that have come after the L322; all now conforming to the euro designs and are pure luxury cars as opposd to the huge practicality of the L322.
A good friend of mine owns BT51EKB - the James Bond L322 - I have done many miles in it. I can put you in touch with him, I am sure he would be happy for you to do a video of it and take it for a spin. It is in lovely condition.
Wow dude that would make an excellent video, thanks fella.
That would be a great video. Can you email me matt@highpeakautos.com
Can't wait to see it. Thanks for sharing.... Matt, what a great community you have cultivated.
Cracking video, really enjoyable and interesting homage to a great car
OMG I am already looking for one of these now I am suffering with Carownervirus
Matt is the only person in the World that can make an old Range Rover look and sound like a safe buy. Amazing.
Matt is a good salesman 👨💼
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
hahaha
I bought a L322 in 2004 TD6 love it, still going strong, 168k miles on original 5speed auto box.still running on original rear air suspension and shocks. Will keep it for another 20years.
This gives me confidence
I’m currently looking for a td6
Not too worried about maintenance, I’ve been a mech for the past 34 years
Any area’s in particular that I need to pay attention to before buying ?
6:46 yeah that sunroof button is the same as in my e46. The overhead map lights are the same. The rearview mirror is also the same.
I had a 2002 4.4 Vogue in Zambezi Silver and now have a 2011 4.4 Autobiography in Stornoway Grey with extended exterior pack.
Absolutely love L322s 👌🏻
Best era of Range Rover. Absolutely brilliant motor.
I owned a 55 reg Vogue SE Supercharged. Sold it when I got a company car. Still miss it.
Don’t think I’ve ever been this early for anything in my life😂
I love that you have such a knowledgeable passion for something cool like this!
Some say...The BEST RR ever built!! Love mine nearly 10 yrs of owning..
2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography on 188k miles, love them do everything you ever need, +38 summer, -24 winter, snow, flooded areas, off road etc, I can put a 3 meter length in it, sit 5 people comfortably in it and a dog and the interior still looks new. Look after them maintenance wise and regular oil changes and they will look after you, and best of all give you that feeling when you drive it
I do agree, I really like the last of the line L322s, especially the Westminster and Holland and Holland specs.
I bought my 4.4 tdv8 2 weeks ago, i spent a week driving it to a from work and I didn’t get all the fuss about the l322. Then we took the wife’s Hyundai out and I got it within 2 minutes of being in her car. These cars are special and have ruined every other car.

Greetings from Italy, cheers
This was one of your best videos. Very well done, very interesting, and expertly presented. Thank you.
Thanks
You've got a knack for this, loving your content!
Love my 2011 HSE Lux. Best vehicle I have ever owned. I found your channel when I first started thinking about getting a Range Rover. The L322 is my favorite by far.

Still going strong 💪 with my 2005 😅
Hell of a beast
I love the title sequence editing! I can't imagine a less interesting car to me than a 22 year old Range Rover, but I was enthralled and charmed throughout by the presentation and the quality -- this is so excellent. Thanks for sharing your passion for this one!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks

How is it?
Liking the documentary style video, makes a nice chnage and you could do this this more often 👍
Production values just going up and up. Very professional, really well created video.
This may sound a little childish but, if the production values go up and up, why do Range Rovers and Jags always perform poorly on reliability?
Always liked them but never owned one.
Great review. I'd like to see more of this type of video Matt - they are superb.
Love the overlay of the door closing over you praising the classic BMW thunk. Amazing video!
Thanks
Good coverage of the "cupholder situation".
I feel lik watching old school Top Gear, minus the over the top humour. You've got extensive knowledge and your passion for cars definitely shows!
the visual and sound production and delivery i must say is outstanding ..some decent kit used .. plus i want an l322...been subscribing since day one ..
You got a picture of Raymond's overland prepped L322 for his trip from UK all the way down to Cape Town. Great Stuff!!
2012 l322. Tdv8 with 8 speed. Autobiography. Nothing beats them.
You can see the passion you have for this model with how you refect and deliver the information Matt, for me I have that same feeling for my Defender.
Brilliant video containing so many facts and figures.
Love your style Matt, keep it up.
am not a total [modern ] car fan , definitely not a range rover fan ,,, the way these videos are layed out and presented , with varying content with what seems to be an honest take on things makes this site one of the best to view ;;;
I feel a HPA Land Rover 2nd channel coming on! :) Very happy to watch LR content all day, keep it coming! 👍
Great video as always Matt! Highly informative. More of these types please.
The chassis wasn't made of aluminium until the L405. L322 was steel with most of the panels being aluminium.
The biggest fan of the mighty L322 all the way here in New Zealand . Great video Matt once again !
This was one of your best videos and I’ve seen them all
Keep it like this
Thank you! Very kind
My dream car. Thanks Matt missed seeing this car on your channel, bring it back sometimes.

Great to see you've influenced so many people into buying a Range Rover, Matt 😃 I think some people are realising how remarkable these cars are ❤
Awesome video! L322 is definitely a future classic 👌
That was really interesting I loved it, very intuitive. I did love the interior in your L22 that was in green, it was so rich looking.
L322 is on my list of vehicles to own before i leave this world. TDV8 Autobiography is my favourite

Could listen to this man wax lyrical about the L322 all day.
Definitely keen to see an expedition / overland video if you put one on terrain tyres!
Really enjoyed this. Thanks Matt
We had an L322 as our wedding car in 2003 - amazing car and I agree it still looks good all these years later. I remember the touch screen hinged so you could get to the cassette player behind it! A post-facelift L322 is peak Range-Rover.
Another great video Matt
Glad you enjoyed it
I am 20 now, and as soon as I quit studying and start having a job, I'll get a green 4.4 from my birthyear 03
Loved the video. L322 is the best Range Rover ever.
bought my 2011 RR HSE about 3.5yrs ago (USA), havent regretted it... Fav vehicle Ive have owned.
Great video Matt👍🏻 this car is definitely already a ‘classic’ 👏🏻👍🏻
I've gone from an 05 4.2 sc to a Discovery 4. And at the end of the day it was a sensible decision. My brother now owns the l322 and whenever i see him, I have to take it for a spin. Think I'll be on the lookout for another one but not as my daily.
Saw a black one of those last night in town. Stoppd and had a good look because it was a minter
I’m such a geek was just about to write in the comments about 51 plate L322 in die another day seconds before you mentioned it lol,I’ve never seen another since ,cheers fella 👍💪😉
You know, I've never wanted a Range Rover until I saw all the brilliant vids I saw with you being so enthusiastic about them! But now... :)

Another belter of an L322 video from High Peak. I’m off to spend hours on auto trader now looking for one.. 🤩
thanks matt, i would love to hear more of these 'story of' episodes of classics
btw the english countryside looks absolutely magnificent
Great video matt and very interesting love the l322 RR and i honestly think they look timeless and regal so now im near 60 i think i should sell my volvo v70 2.4d and take a chance on one only downside to them is the ridiculous high road tax 😔 keep the videos coming matt 👍

If you haven't owned one, you need to!! Just don't fall into the L320 (RR sport) trap, they are not the same car and do not drive anywhere near as well!
Brilliant in every way. Well done High Peak team!
I’m a massive fan of the l322, I’ve had one for years, love it. I’m the same Age as Matt and can remember the wow the first time I ever saw one, I drive other cars, but the l322 is my favourite by far
You are such a Range Rover nerd. I love it.
Excellent video Matt, great insight into the ownership. Got me tempted !! Thanks.
I remember first sitting in one of these at the Motor Show in Birmingham - it was Bourneville Purple, and such a beautiful thing! Still want to own one, one day...
Outstanding video on an outstanding car!!! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
@@HighPeakAutos you go over and above mate, well done... The videos and presenting are absolutely first class... As a car enthusiast it's a awesome to follow your reviews and opinions 💪👍
Now this is what you call a video Matt. 👌 love all JLR content especially Range Rovers UK & NZ 👌
Great video. Good to hear again, a positive spin on Range Rovers.
love this shape
Great video on the L322….. keep em coming Matt
never owned one but can say always wanted a discovery and as always great content like your passion for it !
King of all the Range Rover geeks 😄
Had my 2005 supercharged since 2015. Only done 50k in 10 years so fuel consumption is not a major issue. Been very reliable. Cant justify changing it so i will keep it and enjoy.
Ours was part of the Oxford convoy you mention - Aintree Green 2012 Westminster.
I love this and absolutely adore these cars... Keep it up Matt 🏆!
Love these shapes, regal....some bugger keeps blocking my rear gate in one, it's a weird metallic dark red with a cream leather interior & l love it. 😁
That could be a raffleshack Matt, love the green.
I have a 2008 l322 3.6L TDV8 ... I take it off road in Kenya at least once a month and it delivers ... In my opinion ... 2000s SUVs are the greatest all round off roaders ... Whether it's the 100 series LC, L322, Patrol, G etc ... There's just something about them and I'm stuck in that time
I have L322 td6 and i love it! Hello from Romania!
Great video as always Matt!
More Range Rover content en route? Deal. Me. In! 🤘🤘
Brilliant video love watching history of cars my favourite range rover is the same as you the P38
