  • Hello again!
In this week's Mid Week Palate Cleanser, we'll explore yet another way to load software onto vintage computers.
This time, we'll be adding a Bluetooth module to the Amstrad CPC 464 so we can load cassette-based software (.CDT files) wirelessly.
I got this idea from one of you fine viewers, so thank you and keep the good ideas coming.
    Hope you enjoy the video!
    Thank you for watching
    Todd

It turns out there is an issue with this mod. I'm working on a solution and will post a follow-up video when I get it sorted out.

Todd, thank you for this video, I was struggling to find a way too make a CPC worth something but you nailed it, Now anyone can DOUBLE the value of their CPC with a nice bluetooth mod......😂
Seriously though, great mod bluetooth will work well enough upto a couple of metres , You didnt mention what the input voltage is but i suspect its the standard 5volts so prob easy to also make a small enclosure to fit outside, although at that price its cheap enough to add one to each machine .... 👍

Yes. 5v. I knew I had to do this mod on the CPC just for you. I could have used a Speccy or a Coco, but no, CPC all the way. Yes, you could probably make a little 3D printed enclosure exposing both the microUSB and the 3.5mm jacks and then connect it externally with a little 3.5mm cable and that'd probably do the trick.

I've just found out there's an issue with it. I'm going to have to throw out a follow-up video to correct it. Noel from Noel's Retro Lab pointed it out to me. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for the follow-up.

I got them from Amazon US, so it probably won't be a lot of help to you, but www.amazon.com/dp/B08D94PGCG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 . The only detail I really need is the link when you get it so I can provide it to the viewers. Thanks Steve!!
