I wish Clavia had continued to use the cut off corners for their subsequent creations. I think it looks really cool but I guess it must have made them more difficult/ costly to produce.
Great demo. There was some chords/melody you were playing at around 2:57 - 3.18 Poly res sound and I thought to myself, if a famous female vocalist took that sound/ chords, put a beat under it and sang over it all, there would be a hit record. You play great and play great chord structures.
The rumor is that the nord lead 1 supposedly sounds better than the rest but I really cant hear the difference. I've had a 2, 2x, 3, and a1 and I don't notice anything magical about the 1
So beautiful digital britzel played the whole day with my nord lead 1. its a surprising machine. I dont get until now whats about thats sooo interesting. Lately I played with a prophet 5 Rev4 in a store. Really warm and punchy. Great Synth. But when i got home, the Nord surprised me again. Full of character and the morphing is genious!! How is that- old da converters- aliasing and all this problems- but its sounding soo good. I dont get it.
Hi Jonathan. Yes, is very underrated. I played several virtual analog synths, (An1x, Alesis Miniak, etc..) but the sound of the Lead 1 still is my favourite and probably will never get rid of it. Can't believe was made in middle 90's. Sound much better than many synths of nowdays!
Oberheim, send Chris your synths to demo. Not 'that influencer' guy who is boring as hell. THIS is what a keyboardist does. Get Chris to demo your synths.
Thanks for the kind words Andy man...I appreciate it!🙏 I really would love to play that new OBX8. Probably that one and the 3rd Wave from Groove Synthesis are my favourites from this 2022!
@@eaglechildkeys Agreed. Although the OB is really too much money for what it is. I am happy with the Sonic Projects. The 3RD Wave on the other hand is really, really juicy. Hope they also include classic sampling capabilities. Would gladly sell my Emulator II for a more modern machine. But it has to have THE sound.
I have the Nord Lead 2X, I think I like it a little better than I did before now that I'm tweaking it more and more. Now granted, I'm fairly new to the synth world. I've been searching and searching on how to use it and I think I somewhat figured it out.
@@eaglechildkeys I have the 2x, but sometimes I wish I had the 1, if you have had both, which one do you prefer? The 1 seems to sound a bit grittier and that's why I'm tempted to get it... Thanks!
Yes , I know and I agree . At that time I felt those reverb levels were OK , but I noticed the same as you few days later when I listen my demo again. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers! ;-)

Thanks a bunch for the kind words! That could be a cool idea 🎶🎹🤘🏻
I think you have a great taste in sound and synthesizers.. Great to see you play the Nord
Thank you Charthers! 🎹 I love Nords, but specially this one 💫❤️
Nice take on Stryper at 6:45 🤘🏻
Sorry for the late reply! Thank you! ;-)
Great video ❤
Thank you Jo Min! ;-)
Are these add on sounds or original stock sounds

Most people cant hear anything…
Really, it's quite obvious. Nl1 more raw and in you're face. Big difference 😉
@@johndo9648 I don't hear a difference tbh
I wonder what song was on the e piano 2
Hey Davin.
I was just messing around a bit the chords of , The breaks - “I play the fool” ua-cam.com/video/TjQnjwsL2sQ/v-deo.html

Is it magic?
And why is the unison out of this world? Whats happening? I dont get it.

Nord lead 1 vs Minilogue XD: who wins?
Depends on what you’re looking for in a synthesizer. However, for me, the Nord Lead undoubtedly wins ;)

I've said it before.
Try the NL3 you're gonna love it!
1994??? Everywhere they write that NORD LEAD 1 was released in 1995
Yes, you're correct. Thank you for pointing that out!
@2:32 Windows 98 xD
Now that you say it, sounds very similar 😅🎶
Is this ran through any effects or are these effects built in to the presets?
The effect I used is a reverb from RC-20 Retro Color VST. Cheers!
RC-20 is probably the best money i've ever spent on a plug-in. Very good demos btw i love this

I had the Nord Lead 2x too. Great synth! ;-)
@@eaglechildkeys Yeah, I think the secret weapon behind the Nords is to use the FM and using layers.
