What kind of glass are you using? I didn't think you could use something like that because of the height so I would love to know.

Hi there! You can print on items that are less than 2" thick on your Glowforge, so this little glass is smaller than 2" in diameter. -Ellen

May I ask why save as a pdf and not svg?

Hi Marie! You can upload designs that are PNG, PDF, JPG or SVG file types on your Glowforge. In this case, the app I'm using, Keynote, doesn't allow me to save designs as an SVG so I've chosen a PDF instead. -Ellen

Plus an svg is a better format when you have multiple layers. Pdf is perfectly fine for writing ✍️ 👌

Stupid question but can either glowforge engrave? Like the basic?

Hi Courtney! Advanced cooling and the passthrough slot are available only on your Glowforge Pro. The Basic can print on the same materials as a Plus or Pro, but is 3x slower than the Pro and 2x slower than the Plus. Learn more about the differences: bit.ly/MeetGlowforge.

Hi there! We can't give authoritative advice for other companies' products as materials can vary between vendors so you'll likely need to try with your own materials. Please ensure they are CO2 laser-compatible. You can find the settings that work best for your material by adjusting the speed and power on your Glowforge printer. You might try searching in the Glowforge owner's community forum for a good starting place on settings: community.glowforge.com. -Ellen

I've seen a video of some people using a rotary attachment for laser printers. Do you know if these attachments can be used with the glowforge? Or those attachments are only for other types of laser printer. I would like to laser engrave some glass cups. Thanks!

Hi Jarenice! The maximum height of an object you can print on your Glowforge is 2" so unfortunately I think most cups would be too large. We don't have a rotary attachment option at this time, but I've seen Glowforge owners rotate their items in between prints for one cohesive print around shot glasses or bottles for example. -Ellen
