Yes, really.
I would throw this list out for 2 reasons. Seve in the top 10? No way, that slot belongs to the MerryMex Lee Trevino. The number 1 slot undisputed is Jack, 18 majors, 3 more than Tiger, 19 2nd place finishes and 55 top 5 finishes in major tournaments. Jack's longest major draught was 6 years 1980-1986 while Tiger has 1 in the last 15 years so this list was probably done by someone who didn't see Jack in his prime and got caught up in Tiger's 2000's dominance which doesn't make a career btw.

Nicklaus is the goat more majors better finishes look at hia british open record tiger doesnt come close. I would say tiger was rhe best for a 7-8 year period but all time Jack blows tiger out of the water.
Tiger is the leader by far in "extracurricular" activities.
Tiger had the most skill all-around, Nicklaus was 50-50 with the wedge, Hogan was not a great putter

If you take Jacks career 62 to 86, 24 years....5 different foreign players won the US Open, Masters and PGA a total of ten times.
FIVE foreign players, 10 times.
If you take Tiger's career from 1997 to 2019, 22 years...
19 different foreign players won those 3 tournaments a total of 27 times. NINETEEN foreign players.
Jack's numbers are remarkable in the majors, but there is no question he faced less competition.

BTW, 18 majors & 19 SECONDS!!!! Jack is the greatest golfer EVER!!! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. And he had to play with wooden clubs. Ever try that my friend?

Jack should be #1. 3 more majors than Tiger is far greater than the 9 more regular tour events by Tiger has over Jack. NOBODY would choose 9 regular events over 3 major championships. If Tiger had been healthier, he most certainly would be the greatest. But being able to show up is part of the test. This really isn't that close.
Jack did not face international competition like Tiger. There was Gary Player and Tony Jacklin

@@bjohnson515 Player and Jacklin won 11 majors. Several other people Jack faced are on this list. Jack finished in the top 3 in FORTY-SIX majors, the top 2 in THIRTY-SEVEN. It's not close.

@@bjohnson515 Watson + Trevino + Palmer = 21 majors. Only 2 of those majors were won before Jack turned pro. Palmer's closing 65 was the only thing that kept Jack from winning the 1960 U.S. Open as a 20 year old amateur.

Obviously the GOAT is Tiger !! He played against such a large field ( including overseas players who are so good ) , against advanced equipments which help players to improve, golf balls that help players, played against the players with great coaching n with video studying. Tiger excites the whole world..both kids n adults !! That’s GOAT .
The most recent "goat" is the one who always seems front and center as the true goat. There were so many great players that in their day were amazing. It's hard to argue that Woods is better than Jack or Ben or Sam Snead.
