Sorry about the scrapes, but the intro clip is just not cool.

So the beginning was quite misleading WTF? I waited a long time for those batteries to explode.

The guy thinks he is going to be the next Kyle Connor, but crap like that will get him unliked.
Is that what really happened to his Lightning too? All for show?

im happy that it didnt get worse! you could use it for energy storage and put it in a very well contained box and control the temperature eventually and how it evolves with time i guess! cool project btw!

good call on replacing the batts, hate to see but better than them going up in flames after the build is complete.

It is crazy that they shipped them like that with actual pouches exposed! There should be a big warning about that from the seller.

It was 100% my fault. They were on a pallet wrapped in cardboard. I wouldve been fine if I realized that the panel was missing in the van.

James, I know its been a while since the incident. Would be really curious to see an update video from you on everything going on with insurance, thoughts on if you think about get another Lightning, and honestly I'd love to see you check out a Cybertruck and give us some thoughts on Cybertruck vs Lightning. 2-3+ months ago I would have thought Cybertruck hands down.... but as time goes on I want to hear more from a real EV person who has seen/used both.

Insurance fought it, then they backed off when the police caught the people. Then they paid off the truck. They didnt cover any of my stuff inside the truck. Caleb and I had just gotten back from camping with the T-Rex so I had all of my EV tools and supplies in it. Along with some of our camping stuff. $13,000 of stuff all gone. Including my onewheel.
I had a very early reservation on a CT but I canceled it when I got the Lightning. I didnt think I would need another truck. Sucks. But not that I could afford it at this point anyway. I dont have the ability to hold a $1000+ car payment. This channel used to make more money but I'm not getting the views I used to.

@@JamesKlafehn cool! so what do you think is better a battery extension on the bed of a truck or a battery trailer? in terms of efficiency i guess!

@@carholic-sz3qv depends on your goals. Range only, truck bed battery. But you lose payload. If you like to camp then a camper range extender.
