I always liked the Hulk but never knew where to start comic wise. These vids are turning me into a huge fan. I'm not sure if I should keep watching or stop from spoiling myself.
Prince Revolver If you started getting more into Hulk comics, it's going to be completely different. Banner got his ass merked during the new Civil War comics and now Amadeus Cho is the Hulk. It's just not as good as these stories now
i was the same way but started off with Planet Hulk when they got collected into one hardcover then just followed the stories afterwards, up until Fall of the Hulks (started spending way too much money on comics so I stopped). Honestly these videos do a great job of explaining things so sticking with them is a nice alternative. Also Marvel comics are a mess now IMO (except for Spider Man) so idk where to even point you

I loved this issue. It was such a interesting recontextualization of all these intelligence based villains. Also the Dialogue and interactions was sooo fun. And having them "fail" initially and abandoning doom is sooo fun and interesting

I just got done reading both Fall of the Hulks and World War Hulks, and those stories had my full interest, like another secret war, keyword being "Secret", but when World War Hulks came in, things just a hell of a lot more incredible

I do really love this channel, dude. You're a master storyteller. You know how format the content in a way that makes sense and is easy to understand when you have no frame of reference but say it all in a way you don't get bored. Have you ever thought of doing like an audible series of reading comics? Can someone even do that?
One of the old geek comic talks I used to get into all the time was what would make any comic book hero Omega powered (though we didn't have the term Omega back then ha) within their scope of powers that they have.
For instance with Daredevil's super enhanced senses omega level power could be something like He could sense any being in the entire universe add a little precognition to that and his fighting styles would be hard to beat. Or every time wolverine regenerated his muscle would compensate and get that much stronger and tougher like goku-ha (since that is how muscle growth works).
I'm one of the few who will watch hours of u talking about Modok.. Or the intelligentia in general ❤😂 love em

I'm probably one of the few but I freaking love M.O.D.O.K. I think it's just a nostalgic thing because my favourite show as a kid was Iron Man. Modok and Mandarin were a team always trying to take out Iron Man so they were in almost every episode haha. I was 4 when the show first aired but they brought it back to the Cartoon Network in 1998 so I was 8 years old. I'd watch it every morning before school, It just became part of my life so I think thats why I have a soft spot for crazy old Modok haha.
Fast forward to 2022 and he makes a modok explained video anyway😭 and it gets 10s of thousands of views “one of the few”

Hi Rob,
Been a some-what long time viewer of your channel and every video you've done has been insightful and amusing to watch. I don't have the time, due to my streaming schedule, to sit down and read every favorite comic out there, but I feel as though watching these videos are what I need because of that. Every morning/evening I can put aside an hour or two to watch them and leave with some satisfaction of knowing how or what is going on with these storylines and characters.
Keep up the awesome work and hope to see more!

Hey Rob, I think it would be awesome if you made a series of videos comparing the characters of the standard Marvel 616 universe to the character of the Ultimate universe (1610), for example- comparing the characters of the Ultimates to the Avengers in terms of powers, personality and history, and how they compare to each other and the differences between them.

Please do a video on the different personalities of Bruce Banner's Hulks and why they came to be (Savage Hulk, Worldbreaker Hulk, Professor Hulk, Joe Fixit, etc) and why they kinda flip flop. Was there ever a time where Banner was the Hulk, he just couldn't turn back to his human form?

The Kang Imortus storey is also very retroactive.The storey when the time keepers where killed at the end of time and cap crushes the cosmic cube in his hands and Kang calls him a unmitigated mouth breathing idiot.
the whole Kang, Immortus, Iron Lad thing is confusing as f*ck and doesn't make much sense.

You did mention the "Blue Marvel" story and compared it to this one.
As for me, I liked this one far better than I liked the Blue Marvel one. The reason being that, although he inserted the Intelligentsia into Marvel history, is was in a subtle way.
You'll have to forgive me for saying so, but with the Blue Marvel, it just seemed to me like the writer was trying to create his own "Mary Sue" character who was as strong as Superman ("Hyperion") and as smart as Reed Richards (and to be clear, I say this as a black man myself, so there is no racism component in my opinion)
This whole "Red Hulk" storyline was perhaps my favorite since the glory days of when Peter David was writing the book, not even the World War Hulk series caught my attention like this did.

Would recommend.
I read too many comics. I often forget what has happened. So lucky to have this channel to have a good go to to fill in the gaps that have left my mind. More fun than reading a wiki. Also. Marvel and DC put out quite a amount of unreadable crap in between the good stuff. And the worst is when what happened in the cruddy comic is important to know before reading the goods I can watch Rob’s video on the stuff I don’t want to read and have me ready to jump into what I want to read.
Also he makes the boring stuff more fun than reading it. Plus adds some factoids and history etc in the mix which I’ve learnt a lot from. Oh! And most important of all. I can’t stand 99.9999999999% of UA-cam due to the awful UA-cam voice people put on when recording. Rob sounds like a nice dude just chatting about something he loves. People add so much fake hype in the obnoxious voices. Worse than morning local radio jockeys. But Rob is very good on the ears and you feel the passion and excitement. I love when he goes off track coz he remembers something about a character or story and then gets back on track to the video’s main focus.
Super lucky to have this channel.
PS: Hey DC Comics! Bring out DC Unlimited already! I don’t wanna watch your shows. I want to read a heap of your back catalogue. Marvel Unlimited is amazing. It’s also something I have bought many nerd friends 1 year subscriptions for their birthdays and Xmas and also have gotten a lot of would be comic readers to subscribe and more than most have become fans of the art form and the brand! Look. Someone at DC go into the boardroom and tell those suits that the company would benefit greatly from a identical service to Marvel Unlimited and get people way more hooked and open their wallets for Hardcovers and your movies and shows.
I am sorry to disagree - Fantastic Four was, for its time, Lost in Space. That is why it was a jump point for other stuff.

Hey rob would love to see you do a video about the stepford coockoos I really know next to nothing about them other than they have origin in hellfire club (?) and are now running around with Emma Frost. Like are they a hive mind, triplets or something? They seem so powerful but are almost always just used as pawns.
Can Doodle Telepathic minions of Emma. I'm not sure if they have any story that focuses on them specifically but they play a role in messiah complex I believe. I'd like to see their origins as well.

Red hulk is James Thunderbolt Ross, aka the general who was there at the experiment that turned banner into the hulk. He was also the man who tried several times unsuccessfully to capture him. And finally gave in to become one himself in order to defeat the hulk
