I have a riot mako 10 manufactured March 2021 sold through Bi-Mart under the name Cascade Pro. I’ve watched all the videos on UA-cam and have made a few basic changes that make it perform better for me. First, I replaced the rudder line with a thinner and more flexible cord that makes it a lot easier to deploy and retract the rudder. Secondly I disconnected the rudder steering line (Left the wire cable inside the tubes) and tied the thinner cord to the rudder, routed the cord outside on top the rear sides up to under the seat and tied off with slack in front of seat. Now it is way easier to steer and can make sharper turns on the water with no effort at all! I recommend checking all screws to insure they are tight before initial use. I also used thinner cord to make an anchor trolley that slides easier. Under the seat I keep a dry bag with a towel. I also store the original heavy black line under the seat for use a a tow line. This model came with a chair that allows an additional five inches for the back rest to be moved backwards. I’ve also installed large drain plugs and made them into self draining. Additionally I molded keel guards for front and rear bottom hull protection. FYI, I’m 70 years old, 6’-1” and 225 lbs. and can easily load this light weight kayak. It stays dry inside for me and is very stable!
Are you able to make a video or post pictures of your rudder cable system? I would be very interested cause my rudder is impossible to pull out of the water when I’m sitting down. Thank you
I can vouch for the stability- I’ve taken mine off shore (ocean) in windy conditions and have had no issues standing. One thing I’ll mention, since the guy was rocking the kayak back and forth, is that you will need to seal all screws to prevent water from getting into the hull. I had maybe 3 cups of water my first outing
I'm 6'2" and 265lbs. My wife and I bought a pair of the Mako 10s mostly for fishing and I haven't been disappointed. A few times I thought I was going to flip the kayak, but it really is stable, and was totally amazed it stayed upright. Unless you stand on one side, you shouldn't have a problem, even casting.
Just order mine last week, it shipped to a city close to mine and all the sudden they said that customer refused delivery. I called Customer service and they called the carrier and the carrier damaged the product so my kayak is fucked now. So pissed off right now, the kayak is getting sent back to the seller. And now I just cant find anymore mako 10 kayak anymore. Went to riot site and cant order from thier either anyone knoe any other place I can order and is willing to ship plz let me know.

I’ve had mine for 2 years and it is very stable. I’m always standing up fishing in it. I love it and it costs much less than other over priced kayaks
