I ride my hard tail way more than my full sus. Mostly just because my local trails don't really require a full sus, but also just because I prefer the more direct feeling of a hard tail.
I am so glad I chose a hardtail to start my mtb journey. It has made me a very "active" rider, choosing good lines, knowing when to be heavy and light, staying on the pedals. It's also crazy physically demanding trying to DH a hardtail. Ofc FS bikes are faster but I'm rarely the slowest guy out there. Having ridden some of my friends FS bikes, I'm just instantly fast, smooth and confident. I credit the hardtail.
I absolutely love HTs if you’ve never ridden one and you’re always been on a FS then Try one they will teach you more about riding than you think and because you haven’t Got the rear suspension the bike really talks to you a lot more I have two a voodoo hoodoo which Neil loves and a Alcatraz JB And with HT you don’t need to go to the gym your arms and legs do most of the work The downside of HT after a long. day your body does feel it a lot more especially for me as I do a lot of street. riding a hot bath and a glass of whiskey normally does the trick hitting the Oakley line on a Hardtail is crazy Providing your body can take it the sky is the limit
I like riding on enduro trails with a downhill bike. I don't really like hospitals. I think being overbiked is healtier than riding steep stuff with a hardtail.
I’d like to know which Manitou they are using. I replaced my old Manitou Nixon with the only thing I could find in 1 1/8 straight w/20mm thru axel. A Manitou Circus Expert. Banshee frame destroyed in head on with PU truck. Fork might be ok......waiting to pull it when new GT Zaskar gets here....tomorrow ? If steerer isn’t bent, I’ll fiddle with the shims and make it more a trail fork than a jump fork.
Don't know why the question "Can you do that on a hardtail?" is being floated. Is there really anything you can't do on a hardtail and can on a full-sus?
Love the bike design ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
maybe a little more quality content and less recycling guys... There's no need for 365 uploads... lacking a lot of depth in what could been a really nice video. No visual aids or overlay explaination... no vfx. quality over quantity...
@@mbal4052 Right all the shit that seems to grab the 27 disappears on the 29. I look at trail lines so much differently now. I'm faster on my 29 HT than my 27 FS these days.
Hardcore hardtail!!
I'm riding a Liteville H3 mk3 with a 36 Fox Factory. Fast af no matter what I throw it into. Loving it

Fat tire hard tail with a dropper, my happy place this season 🎉
Favorite bike I’ve been on between fs and ht is my aggressive hardtail 150 fork 27.5 2.6 dhf tires and 64 degree head angle
Totally brilliant, I'm a big hardtail fan, and it's amazing to see these skills I've got no excuses now for dropping back on the downhills:-)
Thank you keep up the hardtail content.
Glad you made this hard tail video! You guys are amazing riders.
We need a right hard tail for the job video. Some hard tails are more capable than others. Blake and Neil would be perfect for that video.
Hardtail’s are for the strong!💪
The thumb nail drop did that on my hardtail in the summer 170mm fox 36 on a ornage crush nice bottom out on the fork 🤣🤣
Please make a colab video with Steve from Hardtail Party. It would be amazing!
No way I am gonna try anything from these crazy skills, my bones are too precious LOL btw it does look amazing
Sold on hardtails!
Thanks legends 😀👍🏽

Back in my day we just called them Mountain Bikes.
Ok

I also liked how the other side of pond you guys call the ground the floor as we only use floor inside.
Some morons do that here too in USA
It seems to be a recent regression. Most of us call the ground the ground.
Hi there.
How much fork travel do you think is ideal on the scout??
I like riding HT when it´s wet in the wood, not when dry. Tires can slip better over wet roots.
Do you like slippery roots
@@joshallen1846 I like using them as a bunny hop bump. Do you know how to ride??
@@joshallen1846 thats when you learn riding :) Depends on the roots

so what you've (basically) repeatedly stated: "to ride a hardtail, you have to be a better rider"
^ that checks out.
How do you know what size bike works for you?
Me: Ohh, I'm good at unweighting on the speedbump in the car park
Blake: Neil will now unweight this section
Me: ... Never mind.
Me too! A few days ago I unweighted like a champ over that root on my commute.
I'm in the market for an advanced hardtail, but I'm struggling to find one that comes with advanced skills
"Skills are rented not bought" Keep paying that rent Sadie😉. Enjoy your new HT when you pull the trigger.
The Commencal meta ht am is great taken it to bike parks a lot and raced DH on it. Also its great on jumps
What kind of tires u got on that bad boy??

Hows the manitou fork performing and how often should u service one, Thanks in Advance

Looks like a Mezzer.
Don't bother with Manitou though, their customer service and warranty is a joke.

Ooh new vid
Never been so soon
Not sure a few of those are advanced skills lol, just seems like a list of things you can do on a hardtail haha
Neil speaks like a scouser
Love hard tales but for the same price as a full sus I would get the full sus

They’re just recording everytime they ride. You don’t have to watch, but you could just make your own content. You must have SO many ideas, yeah?😂

How can anyone say that a hardtail is a good beginner bike when a hardtail requires better skills 🤔
It will encourage and help you learn those skills
I've never riden a full sus and don't plan on. Hardtails for life. Full sus is a rip off for an extra moving part.
