The first naturalist mission I did Harriet wanted to kill a bunch of fur trappers, in my head I thought “is this really necessary, like they’re just trying to make a living” then when I got there I heard one of the guard talk about another guy getting frisky with the panther the night before and instantly charged in guns blazing
I found out that if you start a blood money mission (stage coach stickup) and go to the legendary animal location of your choice it will spawn like 99% of the time
@@lucasramsey2336 start it go to the location of the animals and most of the time they will spawn you don’t quit it or anything just go straight to the location of the animal after u started the mission
That's because the blood money missions put you in your own private session. I've created my own and hunted as well. A lot more animals and events spawn when you play in a private session.

Before I knew what that meant I remember just unloading on the animal until it went down. Which you don’t have to do and it saves a lot of ammo.
@BadInfluence710 No, that works too! It also goes red when you've killed something though. Like if you're using the regular rounds instead of the sedative ones by accident.
What I don't get is the field guide requires killing and skinning the animals as well yet she gets pissed at you for doing this and won't talk to you for a while. Makes zero sense at all.
Problem with hunting legendary animals is they are a random event (which includes strangers , ambushes,following dogs treasure hunters/maps etc )and only one at a time can happen meaning if someone else in the lobby elsewhere has triggered any of these then you won’t get any legendary animals regardless of perfect conditions.. best thing to do is getting a solo lobby and it’ll be much much easier

I’d really like it if this role could get some type of rework. It’s not good pay wise, it’s sort of boring to play, and it works in direct contradiction to one of the best roles. I don’t know how they could rework it, but the sampling and collecting stamps is a very cool thing in my opinion. Sadly it’s basically doomed to simply be a way to farm legendary aninals

Didn't get the chance to give it to Cripps though as I didn't know what else to do with it because someone stole the carcass by killing me and my horse 🤕 But anyhow Good video! 👍 But I still think I won't be getting this role at all when the only thing that seems interesting to me is the Legendary Animals.

But the fact that my mate, not a naturalist, can also find it, means we can spam session hop until it eventually spawns. Recently got naturalist rank 12 and immediately got the moonstone wolf mission, also had a friend give me the onyx wolf. Just need the fucking elusive emerald now 😂
i am naturalist rank 1, you say that you do not need naturalist for legendary animals but when i go and try to hunt the legendary shadow buck it does not show up no matter under what conditions
A big problem for alot of xbox players. No info on fixing the issue anywhere besides resetting your Xbox cache. The samples will say the Harriet stamp but will not count for XP
@@andresbustamante2027 resetting console cache is done by holding the power button until it shuts off. Wait until you hear no fans on inside. Than unplug it for 15 seconds and boot everything up. Gameplay should be a little bit nicer.
Does anybody know if the samples are bugged? Because every animal I sedated, I also sampled but it still doesn‘t count and I‘m not able to get 100% for the animals ._. (I’m playing on PS4 btw)

Try out collector role. Especially right now, because of 2x $RDO and XP. Best role for money and XP grind imo. It is pretty boring and time consuming, though. As for gold bars i recomend doing dailies and blood money, stranger or telegram missions Also each 5 levels you get a treasure map and selling few collector sets will level you up very fast Bounty hunter missions are good for grinding gold bars too

I just hate this roll, it just goes against everything about the game, hunting its a big part of the game, been forced not to hunt animals such a pain. can't wait to be done with this crap.

I was told to get the naturalist because I could use legendary animals for the trader role.
At level 5 you can get the legendary missions from Harriet and give the pelt to Cripps

I've been playing rdr2 online since it came out for just about every day. IVE NEVER SEEN A LEGENDARY ANIMAL EVER. Without making it spawn in myself.

Yea I got a rank 4 unlock horse I think from the collector role and it's stats weren't maxed out any tips on how to make them maxed out?

It was struggling to rank up naturalist from 1 to 5. But once you at rank 5 much easy a little to gain exp.

@@andresbustamante2027 doing the reset doesn't fix everything however. It just clears your last games memory. I unplug my Xbox every night.
