- Red Dead Online has grown to be a in-depth game over the the past 2 years. There's now more things to do and more things to buy than ever before in Red Dead Redemption 2. That's why I've put a list of the 50 purchases you must make in Red Dead Online.
50 Red Dead Online Purchases You MUST Have!
I've gone through all the best purchases red dead online and added them to the list. I tell you how much the item costs and why you should buy into it. This best purchases in rdr2 online list is in not specific order, it is more about understanding what you have, what you don't have and then buying into the items you don't have. All these items on the "best purchases RDO" list are on here for at least one of these reasons, it make you more money, gold, XP or makes your life more efficient. This Red Dead Online guide will run you through everything you need to buy for your account and this will lead to you playing with the best possible experience in return. These are items I have on my Xbox account and I'm slowly working on retrieving them on my PlayStation account. These are the Red Dead Online tips that all hardcore RDO players will give.

I've heard people say that wilderness camp is useless, but you can use it to fast travel from almost anywhere so I think it's worth the investment.
Yes especially to bounce back to camp for just a dollar.
One of the best investments in the game.
Fast travel came from a outlaw pass, so not exactly. But I heard they will be adding the option to buy it from the fence in the future

Bolt Action Rifle, Bow and Varmint Rifles were the top three things I knew I wanted/needed to get early game. Bolt Action is a great in-between for a Rifle/Repeater. It can perform both roles, and with a scope you can also use it as a very very good hunting rifle, and sniper rifle. Saves a lot of money early game using the Bolt Action vs buying dedicated weapons for each role as it can do all the roles, of course not as good as some other weapons, but it's kinda a jack of all trades rifle. Master of None, but weak are none. The Hooded Stirrups also make pretty much any saddle a great saddle. I never have stamina issues even though I don't use the best saddle in the game. With Hooded Stirrups you can go for style vs having the best saddle.
Yeah, Bolt Action Rifle is a must early on. The Bow is also a must-have since it doesn't wear down and can save you having to use your guns all the time. This is especially nice during certain Free Roam events where you want to be sneaky.

Even now, I would say the fishing rod is incredibly valuable to beginners of the game. When you catch fish and throw them out again, you gain health xp according to the size of the fish, so a couple of hours fishing and you basically have maxed out your health very early on.
I'm a new player and I've been hunting and fishing for my main source of money. I fish in the Iron Lake with Lake lure. I like how you can put the fish in your pocket so I can fish for hours now. I also do blood money missions and train clerk deliveries with my friends for extra gold and money

I would say IMO top 1 and 2 for new players early on is the Varmint and Bolt Action rifle once you can reach ranks 7 and 8 to unlock if I remember right. At rank 155+ I still use those two probably more than any other. But remember to enjoy the experience of the game it is not all about the grind.

If you wanna do a 2 man bounty easily what you can do is steal any random npcs horse and jump on before it runs away and then boom you got a second horse and you whistle your main horse in when your ready for the second storage and you could do 3 this way with the lasso method involved
Just started two weeks ago, I bought the 50 dollar micro transaction and outlaw pass. Go ahead, judge me.
I rather spend a little money and save lots of time then the reverse. I can always make more money. But you'll never get back time.
Now, Because I unlocked every role in the beginning and the outlaw pass, I'm rank 90 and own almost every essential item he mentioned.
What would of took months took me weeks. Now I don't have to grind as hard anymore. I just gotta save up for the explosion pamphlets and PvP here I come!

@@scotchwhisky6094 I take my hunting wagon and stuff 5 big ass fish in it and I also put on on my horse. I believe the big fish is like 8 bucks a pop. Plus you can sell all the smaller fish you caught along with the big fish. Can easily make $200 in about 30 minutes without really trying. I sometimes just set them free.

that saddle is actually pretty overkill if you ask me, once I started to get the hang of timing my spurs and using calm, I barely lost any stamina at all using starter horse+starter saddle, and I think I had the 20% spurs on them, but well yeah I could see the use of it if you're getting chassed or are chassing someone, due to it letting you spam x/a/whatever keybind you have on pc without having to worry about it draining alot more stamina than timing due to slightly better top speed
What’s the proper way to gallop full speed? You spam to get up to speed and then you time it with the horses foot steps right ?

I just started playing it yesterday and boy do I love it! Takes a while to get gold and cash though, but I'm enjoying it. I'm also hoping it gets a 60 fps patch for Series X.
The featured series help alot you can make tona of money and gold if you play them or stay afk. If you didnt know
Do not underestimate the money you can make from selling meat, horns, fish and feathers to the butcher. Turkey, pelicans, owls, vultures, condors, and heron feathers are big money

@@Zipcode1609 I later found out that I needed to level up the naturalist roll to actually get the wilderness camp to go along with the skill. Got it now and use it all the time.

@@kriskater if you play this game for hours on end obsessively like me it gets to a point where you just start spending lavishly because there’s nothing else to do. I’d just spend money on your businesses at first if you wanna make money fast. Then the rest can come later. Really depending on your goals, if you just wanna have fun spend whatever is gonna bring the most entertainment value to you. There’s no benefit to buying a gold barrel for a cattleman revolver especially early game but if it makes you enjoy your character more than you really are going to get the most value out of the game.

Really wish they'd give suggestions for hunting dailies so I don't have to Google areas for specific animals...even if 3 of 5 are empty..I wouldn't have to go online during play breaking me from the game.
8:07 I think the Upland saddle (rank 20 bounty hunter) saddle is the best. From top to bottom, it gives 24%, 30%, 30% and 65%.
Sure but you can get the Nacogdoches saddle much earlier and without the bounty hunting grind. Plus the difference is barely noticeable anyway.

@@pallemanden sure I believe you, just saying that the nacog saddle combined with a good horse is all you need. Yesterday I sprinted from MacFarlanes to Valentine top speed and all I did was press L3 every 20 seconds or so. Plus I find Bounty Hunting so boring to try maxing it out. I am at level 10 now and probably will stay there and buy the prestigious bounty license instead.

When ever I use that saddle, my character can't get on the horse right, doesn't use the stirrup, has to jump up on his belly first then throw leg over, kinda odd they did that unless it's just me lol
I got a bounty wagon just because you can smash into other wagons and horses and it is durable AF, also the hunting wagon can straight up do donuts
I bought the Lancaster repeater, and I wish I didn't; the carbine repeater is vastly superior with its significant higher damage output.
Sure, the Lancaster holds double the ammo, but it's also weak af, so unless you're a master of head shots, it ends up taking forever to kill targets, whereas the carbine repeater typically finishes them off 30% faster.
Ultimately, the repeaters are garbage and only good for harvesting perfect coyotes. To kill players and NPCs, the pump shotgun is king for CQB, and the bolt action is an absolute powerhouse for anything the shotgun can't reach. I'd advise you only buy the Lancaster if it's on sale like it was recently. Otherwise, the carbine repeater is far more useful a repeater.

horses are subjective in rdr online even kentuck saddler and scrawny nag can do the job done when equip with naco saddle and hooded stirrups
Fr i used the kentucky saddler to carry me through the early game and he was just a reliable as my current horse the level 20 breton
The saddler made it hard to keep up with the posse, but a cheap horse is the brown Arabian with pretty good stats

A good saddle if you dislike the nacogdoches is the delgado with the upgraded max stirrups. you still get that near infinite run with the combo plus its different. semi auto pistols is a massive upgrade for moonshiners too

Now I'm semi-new to RDR2 Online (just hit lvl 95), but I'd argue that the Upland Saddle is better than the Nacogdoches Saddle.
The Upland Saddle has a Stamina Regen Rate of 30% versus only 20% with the Nacogdoches saddle.
Also the Stamina Drain Rate for the Upland Saddle is -65%. versus -35% with the Nacogdoches.
Again, I'm new so maybe I'm missing something. My buddy whos a lvl 655 swears up and down on the Nacogdoches saddle. I have it now and I do like it. I never run out of stamina now I just can't help but look at the numbers and the numbers are better on the stats the truely matter with the Upland saddle.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.
The springfeild rifle is also a great rifle since it doesn't have a reload i would reccomend it when you go hunting

Plus always do all my dailes . Just don’t waste money or especially your gold on stupid items . Simple as that . Good luck

I prefer the Litchfield Repeater to the Lancaster Repeater sim LS because it does more damage than bothe the Lancaster and the Carbine Repeater, while still keeping a similar fire rate and accuracy to the Lancaster.
Man this game has changed hackers that teleport people who spam carcano and rolling back rifles and shotguns then kill you when you aren’t looking
With the wilderness camp u can fast travel if u have the skill page from the outlaw pass

The first thing I bought was a slightly better gun to defend me better from greifers then I saved up 15 gold by treasure hunting, story missions and daily challenges to begin the trader role after I got to trader rank 5 I bought a moonshine shack
I love the game and I play everyday if it's possible, ad to keep interest I make goals to reach that marke it still good.
I hope to get more native American clothing and thing's.

Great video but what’s the point of having small game arrows when the varmint rifle does the same thing with better accuracy?
rabbits, squirrels, rats, and other animals that size need small game arrows because a varmint rifle is too powerful since they're so tiny

@@rebeccabender8654 the varmint rifle is literally an old school 22 caliber. It was designed for small game. I have better luck getting 3 star pelts than with small game arrows.

I have the fishing gear but I usually shoot the fish in shallow water with my varmint rifle
It's kind of hard to buy anything when a simple pair of boots costs $65 and you have to be rank 30 to even buy them

I have some problems with the pricing in this game because I can go and buy something useful for cheap then there is literally a laso for $350
Not to mention that $350 in 1890 dollars would be equivalent to $10,500 today.

The horse thing I just have an Arabian with the bounty hunter saddle and hooded stirrups but it’s faster than the business horses and it can also have the infinite stamina if you press the stick in
Horse insurance is something you buy when you have nothing else to buy. I passed level 100 before my horse was ever killed. I figure if you do pvp often, then get it.
When I was a low level other players attacked me and killed my horses for no reasons at all- many times.
I was so happy to have that insurance!

Bounty wagon? I bought that thing 3 months ago and have only used it once. I just run them back and forth to eat up the clock for more gold. Bounty wagon was a poor investment for me. Same with the medium delivery wagon. I got literally two runs out of it before I was able to buy the large wagon. Medium was a waste.
But you need the medium before you can get the large… so not a waste. And you can do 6 bounty targets all by yourself ??
Mostly very true, except horses. Which horse to buy really doesn't matter when u have the right saddle and stirrup
