Another great review. I have been using the Milwaukee 18v LED floods for the past two years. They have been awesome. Amazing light for cordless, great for going into attics or basements. Not sure if the Festool is worth it. I usually say that right before I buy a Festool.
I have been using this Festool Duo light for about 12 months and my only concern is when fitted to the tripod. There is a spring loaded pin that secured the light onto the tripod pole, the pin locates into a slot in the plastic base of the light. My concern is when the tripod is extended to the maximum if someone was to try to turn the light the plastic is so thin that I think it would break. I have seen some photos that were released when the light was first sold in the UK and it look as if there was another fitting at the top of the tripod pole that would enable the light to swivel without unclamping the moveable section of the pole. Having this second top adjustment would be favourable.
Wish it was cordless. Lots of times it's dark in a room because the power is off. That tripod better be made of gold for $200. It would be nice to be able to use a regular tripod or one of Fastcaps third hands.
Did you guys read the manual? The wall mount position at 3:50 has been forbidden by Festool. I guess that air flow and cooling doesn't work sufficient here.
I appreciate the review, but it seems like a joke for most contractors. for me it is hands down the ryobi p720. it will run 4+ hrs on a 4.0, and can be plugged in if 120v is easily accessible. I know ryobi has a Chinese hit and miss reputation, but mine goes everywhere with me. I have makita and hilti platforms, but neither have a light to this level. and the price point is excellent. I already had ryobi batteries and charger for inflator for gas tests, so $60 was a good buy.
Bought it Friday. It lights up half the planet and the tripod is a super quality item
William Smith it's a great light!
Outstanding review. You hit on absolutely everything. Thank you for explaining how LED life is calculated.....I've learned something today.

We saw that too - nothing negative yet

I noticed that too - the Tri- pod does not utilize standard 1/4 -20 type attachments. It's more proprietary

Nope - really that sucks! BTW - you read manuals? Just kidding
Ok you got me! In this case it was sufficient to look at the pictures inside the manual :-)

Thanks buddy
Happy to help
That's pretty expensive $400
