If Walt hadn't killed Mike, a few years later Mike would have had to confront Kaylee over someone like this "sidewise a$$hole" that Mike referred to ... and Kaylee would not have taken a "half measure." Kaylee would have been a ruthless killer if things had played out that way. I sincerely hope that series is made some day.

@patrickthomas2119 i disagree. Walt was arrogant and egotistical and if he had just done his job they could have all gotten really rich. But he had to be the man. I love how the whole point of Mike's speech was that if Walt wants to avoid Jesse crashing out, it's best to just get rid of him completely. So instead of just having Jesse killed, Walt decides to crash out over those two dealers. Literally.
Probably the only time mike willingly got real with Walt. I respect mike a lot because he seems like a guy that would explain the rules and how things need to be but if you cross him then it’s done. He doesn’t snap and kill you right away as long as you follow the rule.

Phenomenal acting from Jonathan Banks here.
You can really see the anger Mike experiences while retelling this story.
That and his eyes frequently target the floor as he’s recalling old information.
Mike is legendary
The thing is Mike didn’t stop with the half measures but inadvertently taught Walt to never compromise. Always see things to its end.
-" No more half measures Walter."
[Walter burns everything to the ground]
-"Wait no!"
"It's funny how words can be interpreted."
Mike advising Walt about taking no half measures and proceeds to take half measures time after time
Ironically, Walt ended up following Mike’s own advice better than Mike himself
To be fair most of the time the decision was out of Mike's hands.
Like what? Examples?
And then Walt took too big of a measure. Funny how words can be left up to interpretation, huh?

I think people who idolize Jesse and Mikes relationship and demonize Walt in contrast to Mike forget these scenes here.
that's because Mike's relationship ship with Jesse got better with time, Walt's got worse

Knowing Mike, I don’t think he chose the half measure in that scenario
The half measure was warning him. The full measure, at least according to Mike, would have been to kill him.
