My personal team for this the first time was Ken, Akihiko, Koromaru - and we jumped him with full Theurgy gauges. Ken burned his full party heal at the beginning for the full party Reflect Barriers, so the Reaper wasted all of his early turns getting hit by his own single-target attacks. The rest of my party essentially had enough auto buffs at the beginning that we didn't run out of DPS before the fight ended - Koromaru popped a debilitate, Akihiko threw a Debilitator Sutra when it used Heat Riser so Koromaru could Power Howl the team to max DPS, MC cleared about a quarter of the Reaper's Health with the Circle Saw Theurgy, Akihiko with Auto Heat Riser pumped out >1k with his single target Theurgy, then God Handed for another >1k cuz Power Howling. Koromaru popped Revolution on turn 3 and my team critted him into critical health. To which the Reaper responded with Akasha Arts which was reflected by the two remaining barriers, offing himself.
My personal party was yukari, koromaru, and aigis. Yes, double electricity weakness was annoying, but 11sp heals is a sweet deal, and the dog synergizes really well with physical attacks. Any round the MC isn't casting charge/concentrate or attacking is a wasted turn.
My fight went similarly but I had a persona with all auto-Matarus. That way I don't need heat riser or Stat buffs. Then I had someone use debilitate and we could go right into strats of concentrate/charge and damage.
not to be that guy but- you could've just killed the Reaper turn 1 with armagedon (alright thats all, it was just going to bother me imensely if i didnt mention it)
I did beat him at lvl 79 with aigis, aki, and yukari. This team compostition is bad since 2 ppl share the same weakness and I stuck with support role of debilitator. There is no mitsuru as a full damage dealer but I just push trough with how little the dmg was. The only hard part is Akihiko is way to fast in turn, so when ailments hit my team (I have unshaken will armor) it's always him wasting his turn. The worse situation is he is sometime decide to run away because of fear 😂 And yeah don't forget this reaper has MEGIDOLAON. So when you just a tiny bit damage left from winning and he pulls out concentrate, buckle up and get your buffs ready and not be confident with your persona endurance stat. Dont ask me why I know this part

I don't really understand why people don't have their starter persona with Auto Mat/Mar/Suk/Rebellion. Saves a lot of time when buffs aren't needed, requires you to only use Debilitate then get to slaughtering.
I tried to face him at level 67 with Kali before going up to this section of Tartar0 and fortunately I managed to defeat him... although only Makoto was left standing and at quarter health xd
For reload I was able to beat the reaper at lvl 63 with Ken's theurgy, null charm gear + accessories, and about 5 or 6 each of the makarakarn and tetrakarn items. Just use Ken's theurgy at the start and refresh all the barriers that get broken each turn. Its at about this level that with a defense buff all party members could survive a single hit from the reaper which gives you a bit of leeway if you get unlucky and roll double spread magic attack or an almighty attack. I think the strategy has like a 50/50 shot at working on that level, and it's tough cause of how the only sources of damage were reflected attacks and the MC's Slash damage monster Seigfreid, everyone else just tickled the reaper.
When I reached this area of Tartarus my entire team has already farmed the Reaper a dozen times to reach lvl99. Only the first time was a bit tricky but I remembered to bring the lvl77 Koromaru with debilitate skill, and the fastest guy in the team to have null mental ailments/insta-heal, which was key.
Just do 2 - 3 normal shadow battle to fill the Thurgy gauge for MC, then wait 4 - 5 mins and Armageddon 1 shot Reaper. He literally becomes the EXP gold mine by late game.
When's the perfect time to defeat the reaper? I'm still on September and I dont mind getting to 99 right away since I'm more into the story than the "thrill" of the battle with Nyx. Spoilers are ok. I played the og.
Man persona 3 reload is my first persona game but I'm still at May9 because my game keeps on crashing since i don't have graphics card... such a waste missing out such cool game.

It's early turn, it's common for Reaper.
In Persona 5 Royal, he had 1-2 turns, depending on if he ambushed you or not. If he ambushed you, it's 1. If you ambushed him, it's 2.

The sketchy URL dealer in escaped will sell a URL that gives you the skill when used on the PC. It is unlocked at some point after Fuuka joins, IIRC
