Grimjaw don’t die
How I survived first night:
stayed in corner, pushed lamp in front of me (I thought it can protect me xD) and tried to listen every single shit around me
Literally the same 😂😂😂
omg...exactly the same, I also kept hitting esc to take breathing breaks
lol at 2:38 "Be very careful when around traps" **SNAP** **moment of silence** "Or else that might happen" I laughed so much at this part xD
true story)
love how your explaining stuff and then the door creeks open at 14:48 . thanks for the information, not sure how much it pertains to the official release of this game.
Others: Barricade a room and make lights on.
Me: Sitting next to the generator with an aimed shovel und hoping that it will end soon
I got dark wood for free on the epic games store cause of a sale, and I had no idea how ABSOLUTELY HARD IT IS 😭😭😭 tysm for the tutorial dude 🙏
1st night guide: stand in one spot, nothing happens
That's what makes it scary
Wolf man breaks in and enters if you don’t find him
Lol yeah, things don't start to happen until after the first two nights I think. Hideout 1 is kind of a drag after your first playthrough.
The door might creak open haha
I've survived to day 3 and only had to beat a dog to death with my torch, ended up losing it. But I was able to craft a board with nails, am loving how tense and creepy this game is. Can't seem to get the items I need for better weapons though. I'm too scared to venture far, cause I get lost so easily.
question: when traveling far do you have to get back to your home everytime it gets dark, or are there any safehouses out there?
you can change to another safe house when you go to another area
So what he's saying is: you have to go back to your safe house before each night. When you move to a new area, you'll have a new safe house to go to. Now you have two safe houses incase you need to go back to the first area.
2:34
Be vERY careful around beartraps... *cACHUNCK*
I was playing the game and watching the guide and when he said stay away from burned house my game said new location BURNED HOUSE
Me: holy..
Be very careful around traps. HAHA also if you are completely new to the game i would recommend waiting until your second day to go to the underground entrance. especially if you're expecting to do any more work to your hideout. Nightfall will sneak up on you.
my underground entrance is hella far away from me wth. ur so lucky. on day 2 now. thanks for the tips
2:38 god im laughing my ass off
Hey dude, thank you for the guide. I've had this game in my library for two years and I've booted it up a couple times but I'd get confused/overwhelmed and then quit before I got past day two. Turns out all I really needed was some tips to get through the first day and now I'm 5 hours in and I'm starting understand the flow and functions of the game. These are great tips and will give a new completely blind player like me the drive to get into it. I'm loving the game so far.
I just played the game and they updated that enemies push things out of way so u need wardorebes or tables from inside
Or they just somehow break a FREAKING WARDROBE TO SHREDS WITH NOTHING BUT THEIR HADS
Worth mentioning, not all mushrooms are good.
I just wanted to find out where the wardrobe with the key is lol
The furthest I've made it to this game without dying is night 17 and I definitely should have beaten the game by that point I do a lot of lingering and exploring it's just a habit I have in rogue like games and open the world games for example I stopped playing fallout and elder scrolls because I literally go through every single drawer and open every single book and loot every single body and it gets to the point where for example with cyberpunk 2077 I was 26 hours in before I even started the second mission... This game is a bit different because your time restricted by the day and night cycles BUT every morning you survive a merchant appears inside your fort and time doesn't start moving until you leave your yard.. so I would spend a lot of time doing mental math and moving furniture around and yes no matter what type of furniture you have set up enemies will push past it and through it unless for example you set a dresser long ways up against the doorway where it's physically impossible for it to be pushed through, that usually comes into play when you have no rooms that just have one way in so you block one of the entryways and pretty much all you need to do is put a trap outside and inside each doorway don't worry about the windows just worry about the room your barricading yourself into think of it like an actual home invasion you're putting yourself in one room where you can have your back up against the wall there's no way to escape in this game anyway there's no reason to reinforce anything other than one room, back against the wall you have a barricade on the outside of the room with a trap in front of it that's going to hurt the enemy and if they break through there's a trap on the inside that's going to hurt them making them open for a kill, keep in mind there are random things that happen for example there's multiple times through random nights where people will knock on your door and it benefits you to go answer it so barricading yourself in too tightly can and will be a bad thing and will not only make you miss out on items but story lines and quests, I recommend looking up dark wood random night time encounters I think there's close to 20 of them, it's not just as simple as making sure nothing gets inside
Just got survived the first night and I accidental stayed in my corner of the kitchen. Glad I did as I'm sure I would have died otherwise lol.
Brandon Mack Me too, I didn't have anything. I just waited in the corner of the kitchen. Scariest shit ever
I pick this game up a few days ago I have four hours into it. I could tell within the first 30 minutes. this game is awesome I can’t wait to get into it
Great guide brother, didn't know about the quick attack or backstab untill this video, good stuff
Great video bub
5:42 - Seeing the Wolf mark on your map less than a city block from the safe house filled me with a despair that fits the games setting perfectly. I can't find him anywhere -.-' -having restarted day 1 five times now, found the shiny exp rocks, the dead ends of the burnt houses and silent wood, the farm hedgemaze (lantern), and even gathered enough wood to attract deforestation protestors...but for the life of me, the one time I'm actually trying to find a furry firearm enthusiast: darkwood goes "lawl". (Great my-first-darkwood vid brother, learned a lot ^^ -lol can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, cheers.)
I'm confused at the beginning I'm totally stuck in a house with 4 metal doors and nothings useful no lock picks a lamp some tools I can't grab potatoes I can't pick up....can't do literally anything
Great Videos! Really helped me not feel so helpless!
Glad to hear that!
Mfer has the fnaf 1 phone guy voice thats perfect for the video topic
14:50 the door suddently opens, is that a bad thing?
Such a great game, I have it on the PlayStation 4 already but I'm really excited to finally own it once I buy a switch, this would be the perfect handheld game and personally I'm old the type of handheld games I played were like the original Pokemon games and Zelda handheld games to be able to play a scary handheld game just seems so exciting
Nice guide! Thank you for your help!
I made the weapon but it won’t let me use it it says I don’t have skill yet??
I think I have clicked on the wrong video after searching for a guide to my first night
This is not me being bad😂
I am just showing you what not to do, I totally did that on purpose......
Excellent useful tips. Great job!
Appreciate the info! Just got the game. 🤙
good video
Good video
stuff respawns in this game?
@Gustavo Ramos lol
2:41 same happened here jumped up
I got an axe on my first night and I quit the game only to find out later that I didn't save
Ouch. How did you get an axe on the first night?
There was a dying dog in front of my house and when i clicked on it it 'maybe i should end its suffering' then in front of it was a huge fallen tree that was blocking the path and an axe was stuck in the tree.
Oh. I hate to burst your bubble but that was the tutorial.
Oh really? xD Hahaha i apologize then.
Hha. Same. I thought I left st the weapon. Then don’t scovered it was the tutorial.
Great game so far. It’s really scary.
Loved the Long painfully Funny Outro
This is really helpful, the way you make this guide is genius
nice voice and thanks!
I didn't create a waepon on the first day. I just barricated all the windows and the door.
This is not. A good start in the later nights where they come hide in the bedroom at about night 7
WHAT?
Ehhh I was emm idk
R/ihadastroke
What do I do then because they/ it is banging around outside
I keep hearing good things about this game but can’t ever get into it , I played for almost 1 hour just lost confused and not having fun at all ,I can’t even tell wtf I’m looking at
Yeah i dont the think the game is bad im just constantly confused playing it
I haven't been able to find the lumber yard yet to where I'm able to get a substantial amount of planks or wood but it seems like I can always find the burnt house which always has two planks in the wood piles which is enough for you to make your first melee women then I never have wood enough wood to barricade my windows or anything like that my first night I guess it doesn't really matter if you die inside your house the first night because all your items will be right there but still a bummer,
One other issue I have been running into is inventory space early on we find a bunch of items you aren't going to need to use until later so go into one of the spare bedrooms in your house and just drop those items on the floor until you actually end up needing them
i died already as soon as that red dog chased me in the tunnel
my first death was on day 10 i believe
Just got the game I’m on night 6
that is really cool ,ty
Is this game similar to Project Zomboid?
no it's very different to project zomboid. only similarity is that you barricade houses and there are monsters.
Okay, first of all you don't even need a weapon or anything to survive the first night, you can just stand in a corner and you'll be fine. Second, it's a horror game, why would someone want a guide like this?
No offense, but to me it seems this guide can only diminish the overall experience.
I could feel the fedora and Mountain Dew breath. Good guide though. Appreciate it
I literally should've just watched this before buying into the hype and purchasing this boring ass game.
