Very cool! I inherited a peanut cactus and with zero explanation I'm going to do exactly what I just saw in your video and I think because of some other research I did, my peanut cactuses are being overwatered. Some of their are very spongy and turning purple-ish red in the middle. I have them by other plants and they inadvertently have been getting way too much water I believe. But thank you for your video
Hi! Thanks for your comment! Mine also turn purple/red when they are in full sun! Good call on the watering - if they are soft and squishy they are rotting. Infrequent watering is best for them, although if you live in a hot environment or they aren't planted in a lot of soil (where it won't retain much water), they can handle more.
This was my first cactus and was tiny. "It" has spread everywhere and pups drop off everywhere too, growing like weeds, even some in the drains and too much water does not seem to bother it one bit, All my relatives and friends have a part of it. I just wish some other Cacti and succulents I have would be so robust, the pale end of the pup is the bottom. I once stuck a long pup in soil the wrong way up with rooting powder on it and when i realised a while later I put it the right way up but lots of very small pale pups were forming on the part that had been buried.
I'm intending to get a hothouse. Will ne good if I have kids. Only have about 400 cacti and over 1500 seeds to plant. I'm actually used to getting pricked to the point I don't wear gloves when handling them
That's amazing! I have already run out of room too and might need to build another space. It's especially hard for growing from seed since I need ideal conditions (and the space) for that. Let me know how it goes!

I love that! It's so much fun to gift from our gardens. I have a few consistent growers in my yard and this is definitely one of them!
