Oh Darlene: When you are petting Rocket up on your knee, I just love how he leans back into you. Shows he loves you so much and it is so cute. Keep doing what you works for you in life. All those crazies can take a long walk off a short pier and go badmouth somebody else. Love watching you and so happy you and Joe and Rocket are a family
1st your hair looks really good today!!! 2nd I just love how rocket puts his head on your shoulder when you pet him. What an amazing dog he is. He’s got so much love to give and loves receiving it as well. ❤️ you Joe and Rocket are so lucky to have each other! ❤️
I was taught years ago in nursing school the saying Cold and clammy need some candy, hot and dry sugar high. An easy way to remember if he needs some sugar.
I love how you are learning to help Joe with his diabetes and thinking of things to do that even he wouldn't think of. It just shows how in sync you guys are! Love little Rocket and how sweet you guys are together! ❤
Glad to see you so happy and what a beautiful dog. I wonder if Rocket can sense when Joe's sugars are off. Glad you are there to help take care of him.
Oh, I wouldn't doubt that for a second, dogs have extra senses that humans don't have, dogs seem to even know when they are going to die. More than once my brother from Missouri was a dog lover he had them his whole life. More than once he had told me, that he had a dog that always followed him everywhere, just like most dogs do, well this particular time, this dog refused to go into the house from their garage. Well my brother let him stay & shortly after checked on him & he had passed away. Back yrs ago, I had a little Boston Terrier each night I'd let him outside before bedtime, once coming back in, he'd go to his bed, as he had done for over 7 yrs, well this one night, after I'd let him out, he zoomed past his bed & jumped up on the sofa, where I had been sitting, well I gave him a bit of water & kisses & I went off to bed, as it was 2:30 in the morning, that next morning my partner woke me up, saying our dog is dead acting shocked about it. Well, it seemed to me that my lil' dog (Pokie) sensed this somehow, that it was his last night. Well I went to over to my Pokie checked in front of his lil' face & there was blood & a piece of a hard 2-tone braided dog treat, he was given this treat & my partner took off to go to the store & left Pokie alone to chew on it, which I had told him to never do that, so he died from choking on that damn treat, whenever I gave him one of those treats, I soaked it in warm/hot water first to soften it up & he knew this & was too lazy to do this for our dog. Somehow my dog sensed something was going to happen I truly believe this. Dogs are very special little critters & it's a darn shame that there are so many of them homeless or being abused & neglected.
I am so glad Joe has you with him. I can tell you love him and are taking good care of him. He certainly does not need to live alone!! Dogs know when their people don't feel good and they sure do miss them when they are gone!! Rocket is such a cutie, even got the last word in when you told him not to bark...lololol
3 positive, supportive comments: 1: I really appreciate Joe allowing you & your sharing how he experiences his diabetes. I'd never heard of the brittle type & really admire how incredibly well he's managed throughout his life with such a challenging, chronic illness. More people, medical staff included, need to respect the knowledge & wisdom people with chronic illness gain & listen & trust their feedback. 2: I also love how you share living & thriving with anxiety & truly admire how respectful you are of Joe & especially his management of his illness. You both make a great team & more power to you! 3: Love, love, love sweet Rocket!!!! And not only would I love a clip of his rolling around & frolicking in the grass, I think a lot of us would enjoy an ASMR Sounds & Whispers video of Rocket sleeping, making gentle doggie noises while he dreams. Have a wonderful, loving weekend, Darlene, Joe, Rocket, Derrick, Skylar & everyone you love! 🐕💞Oh! If no one minds & you could one day share a short audio clip of Skylar's choir, that'd be sweet. Thank you!
Isn’t life great when someone is appreciative of the “little” things you do to make them happy and they do the same for you? I’ve been married for almost 54 years to my best friend.😊
Thanks for Joe's update, just so glad that you are there for him. Yes Rocket knows when Joe isn't feeling well, dogs are so amazing , they are true and loyal companionship! I love Rocket!
You have a heart of gold! Rocket and Joe to love on! What an extraordinary Woman you are Darlene, I appreciate you sharing your life here on You Tube. It makes me wonder if people would be interested in anything I’d share. You are truly inspiring that’s for sure.
Hi Darlene, I love it when Rocket is on camera. He is now a fur baby for us all. Tell Joe I said Hi. I have diabetes and it sucks, but I try to watch what I eat. I know Joe knows what to do and he is teaching you and I think that's awesome. Y'all take care. Hugs
Darlene I am so glad you turned on the commenthanks I have no issue about what you do the language you use I just love you you're a wonderful kind of person. I just wanted to say thank you for helping I know you don't know what I'm talking about but all the stories you have told about your mother I'm going through with my husband you taught me a lot about narcissistic Behavior also taught me a lot about quilting and not to give a shit I love it I watch you more than anybody on UA-cam nothing wrong I love everything you have done and now you have 2 good friend 💯💯 ❤
I used to live in the Midwest where the leaves changed colors every fall. Now I live somewhere tropical. Thank you for parking where you did so I could enjoy trees in the background. 🍂🍁
Aww Rocket is so precious! We should all be as smart as dogs. They were made to not talk so you could just behold their pure actions. They surely got humans beat! 🤍🦴
Rocket is so adorable 🥰 I'm glad you and Joe have everything figured out with his diabetes. It can get really scray at times with my mom. Hope you guys have a great weekend 💖
Hi Darlene. I love your little Rocket. What a cutie and I say he should make an appearance every video. My husband is also a type one brittle diabetic of over 50 years. It’s quite the animal to deal with. Every symptom you talk about he too has gone through many many times. Joe’s lucky to have you to watch over and take good care of him. Every day is anew leaning curve with a type 1 diabetic. Stay strong and keep learning your doing a wonderful job. 😀
Rocket is a sweetie, my granddaughter who lives with me just adopted a rescue dog, it’s a small breed & it has only 3 legs, she was rescued from a puppy mill🙁. Thanks for sharing Darlene.
When my husband was first diagnosed with diabetes in the ER every Dr. and Nurse that came by looked at his chart and then looked at him like they were amazed. I finally asked a Nurse why he was being checked out by everyone that came by and I was told that they had never had a patient come in with blood sugar as high as his was that wasn't in a coma. And he was sitting up in bed flirting with all the nurses. It is very scary living with someone that is a brittle diabetic. I told my 12 year old daughter that if she ever found Dad out of it and unable to drink OJ, to call 911 and then squirt some pancake syrup in his mouth to raise his blood sugar until help arrived. Seems like you are learning how.to handle things well. Best of luck to you both. Love to Rocket too !
The large baby medicine dropper works great for giving the sugar juice. The dropper is large not the baby 😁 Hi, sweet boy Rocket. Your loving self makes my heart smile 💜
My dog Rudy, rolls all the time...who knows what is so enticing, but it makes him happy, so if he smells gross I will bathe him. So nice to hear Joe is being aware of his medical condition with you in a personal and in an allowing you to be so supportive...,,just the two of you looking out for each other. Or the 3 of you! LOL Take care, luv your videos, been watching your vids for years! MO from Vanc Island, BC Canada
Hi! Good to see Rocket. I was wondering how old he was. Question answered! I had a Min pin with the same markings. Got him when he was about 3 yrs old. (Long story) any way he was 21 going on 22 when passed. He had a great life!
I really enjoy seeing Rocket ! He is so sweet!! The shirt you’re wearing is one of my favorites of yours , isn’t that the one that has the matching pants ,or is that a different one ? That is good that you know what to look for with Joe and you guys are getting a routine down when he has his issues with his blood sugar you know what to do . That was pretty clever to fill the straw and then give him the juice a little at a time. I’m not sure I would’ve thought of that!😁
Hi there Darlene, as you were saying things about Rocket doing that rolling around, I wanted to mention that my last 3 dogs & the little one that I have now, she does the same thing, I investigated it, like I'd done before with my other dogs & Loe & behold, it was an earthworm every single time, once they roll over it, OMG, does it ever stink, but this is something that I wanted to mention, with Rocket it might be something else altogether, Rocket is such a good boy, even his bark & growl is cute. My Lil' Rat Terrier Sadie is a wonderful dog, she's just about the same size & shape as Rocket, I had a precious Frenchie/pug, (Daizey) since she was 18 months old, she was a rescue, I Iost her last year in early Sept & Oct 14th in 2020, I lost my lil' Boston Terrier (Turbo) due to Epileptic Seizures, I got him at 6 wks old & lost him at only 6.5 yrs old, he was a very hyper dog, he got worse as time went on, it's very hard losing them for me I never do get over it, especially when I'm the one that has to make that dreaded decision of putting them to rest, it's a horrible thing to have to do, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy if I had one. Anyhow I really love it when you have Rocket, but even at times when you don't, I always enjoy watching & listening to you as you are quite entertaining, I like your Paisley top again.
Darlene, my little chihuahua, Tori sleeps with me every night the way you described Rocket lying on Joe's bed. She is right behind me with her head on the pillow and the covers up to her neck. Dogs, you gotta love them.
I had a female min pin for 13 years, her name was Karla. She was a sweet heart and went with me every where. I will never get enough of Master Rocket..❤❤
I don't know what's up with Walmart but I've had the same "in-stock - oh, oops, no, not in stock" run-around recently, too. One store even checked with another to make sure the item was in stock, but when I got there 20 minutes later, the clerk still had to search for 15 minutes to find it. it was something I really needed immediately or I would just have given up.
Rockets back itches like mine !!!! Lol. He's adorable 💖 I have a Mini Pin that's 2 that a girl threw away . Wired 220 ! No advice . But my neighbor has the ambulance there at least 2 times a week . They regulate him then leave . He has Diabetes . So you do what ya gotta do and laugh !! Rocket is good Therapy ! Next time Joe is at the hospital, hopefully not ,sneek him in . Lol
No more Sticking Fingers, to test. Use the " Freestyle3- Libra "" kit. Darlene, this is not meant as any type of criticism or advice!!! And maybe this has been asked elsewhere in comments.....is there a reason why Joe does not use one of the continuous glucose monitoring sensors ?
The only info I can add about diabetes, which you probably already know: If it's low: give sugar or food in small doses (everyone knows this one) If it's high: water and exercise. Move the body to release some of the extra sugar. Other than that, I wish him well. And I hope you can roll with whatever comes with him and any health issues....❤
I know you mentioned that Joe had a roommate that didn’t seem to be there often, how did he handle his diabetes while he lived alone? Because his diabetes is so unpredictable I’m just curious. Hi Rocky!
Yay Rockets back. I’m an animal lover and you can talk about rocket forever. He’s a cutie pie.
Never too much dog content!! Love doggies and rocket is awesome. ❤
Glad to see the true joy in your face. Love your videos!

I love how you are learning to help Joe with his diabetes and thinking of things to do that even he wouldn't think of. It just shows how in sync you guys are! Love little Rocket and how sweet you guys are together! ❤
I'm watching this again and I turned off the sound just to watch Rocket and his movements. I found such joy just watching him. Much love to Rocket.

I know you mentioned that Joe had a roommate that didn’t seem to be there often, how did he handle his diabetes while he lived alone? Because his diabetes is so unpredictable I’m just curious. Hi Rocky!
Rocket is adorable ❤

I wonder if it would help if Joe drank something in the middle of the night

That one sad soul doesn't count.😊❤❤
❤ I love Rocket
Aw. Rocket is a cutie. ❤
Continuous Glucose Monitor will alarm for low blood sugar and high blood sugar.
Does. Not. Work. Not for Joe. And not accurate.
I've heard these are getting hard to find/expensive because all the "health influencers" are using them...😒
