I never thought of the D major chord like yours, with the first inversion on the left. I always play an octave on the left, and inversion on the right. but always feel the notes are far too apart 😅
Great video, I find myself playing like you, I guess that's because 60% of my music comes from you. Sir can you do a tutorial on Kirk Franklin song "Hosanna" some time...
Hey Bro. Warren, how's it going? I'm still working on my lessons. I have some good news. My younger brother gave my son and I a around trip plane tickets to Florida as a Christmas presents. The bad news I probably will not be close to you. My plane will land in Tampa Bay. I'll tell you more later.
Great beginner level video that deals with important ways to beef up your playing. I appreciate you digging into the old school choruses that really have excellent chord progressions that are so much more lush than most modern songs (though I like a combination). One process I've used consistently is building a minor off the 3 for major 7 chords. And a major 7 off the 3 for minor chords in order to add 7 and 9. Works so much better in my opinion than trying to build from the root of the chord, because it generally keeps you distonically true. Works much of the time, but sometimes (particularly in modern CCM songs) it clashes with the melody.
I can still hear the Dove Award announcer saying the award for best praise and worship CD for individual artist, singing and musical keyboard expression goes to Warren McPherson.
actually, the difference between add2 and add9 is the presence of 7th..... if you see add9 that means the 7th is there or they would have said add2.... people.....????
Hello warren. I have been trying to access the practice path today and I can't. It is asking me to verify my email address and im not getting any emails from the website to verify my email. Please help 🙏 Darryl Lloyd

This is nice Warren its really awesome but i have a request please; there is the part of the song which says " Let the poor say i am rich ", you played a chord after that, i have been searching for that chord, please can you tell me the name of that chord and when it is used?
Even within COGIG there different approach based on song, and tempo. I’m not a COGIG player but I can imitate any style, so that’s what I do. So unfortunately I can’t give any specific tips, I give tips based on songs.
@Piano Lesson with Warren Like which ones? I'm not too sure what to search for. I'm currently working through your Beginner Playlist, and that is helping me a lot. Not too sure where to go for the 'soca'.
Hey, hey! Warren long time no leave a message. See you are still doing a geat job. Yeah adding the 7th and 9th make cords sound thick. Your videos are wonderful.

Actually no, the 7th is not present in an add9 chord. I covered this topic in detail in this video; ua-cam.com/video/vtcupf-PTN4/v-deo.html
What do you do when you have small fingers..hard to play octaves? I’m getting better but it’s still a stretch!
You can roll the octaves.
Thanks sirr
Blessings

So boss as you add the 9 is that not sus two
No, because the 3rd is still present. It’s only a sus2 if the 3rd is missing.
Thank you boss
