POTENTIALLY? Are they high on glue?!?!!! There will never ever be a time for technology like this for human use. How many people are seriously living with conditions that prevent movement from the mouth down? This is absolutely invasive. Where is a person supposed to go for help if this technology is being used against a persons will, or in a way they are in complete disagreement of? Can control thoughts of mice in a lab? That means they can absolutely stimulate thoughts and responses. And who’s to say this reads in one direction, from person to computer? Couldn’t it be used to brainwash people if the feed were reversed? Who would be in charge and where would people get help?

Meanwhile people are fed lies and deceived into thinking that said programs are being used for good purposes.

You should consider technology past what you’ve already seen as increasingly more like magic. Of course the way these things work can seem simple the more you look into it but anything you’ve ever seen in science fiction you should consider a potential future emerging tech. That’s what our curiosity and ambition as humans creates and always has and always will. The big question is about who has access and what protections we have against ourselves.
