Man ... ´ Goatlord ` would had blow this out of the water easy ... would now be considered one of the most unique / darker Death Metal albums of all time . Having said this I think this is a great period for Darkthrone , even with the rather annoying Tomas Skogsberg stylized sound .
You speak the plain truth, bought this in vinyl when it came out. Amazing. Felt so pissed off with the follow up to this can't imagine man, can't compare, that was a blaze on the common sense for sure and proves by the way to be the less common of the senses...
Depends how u look at it.... this was a death metal album and u look at up and coming/established bands like deicide, death, etc... was a lot going on.... Then shortly after black metal was picking up steam....
It’s annoying to me how there first album sounds soooo much better than their ne t 4..production wise. It’s a shame that these bands thought that making it sound shittier was a piece of the black metal formula. This production is actually really good. I can’t even listen to their next few albums in my car past volume 10. It hurts my ears and I still can’t hear any instruments lol.
😂.... well u gotta put it in context to.... this was a death metal album and when u look at the upcoming bands during the scene.... death, deicide, etc... there was a lot of competition
A killer and crushing album.
A master piece of Norwegian Death Metal.
probably the best track on the album. 💙🤘🏻
I don't know how people couldn't like such a Diabolical riff!
Darkthrone never reached the greatness of Soulside Journey again, such a masterpiece.
