If you like the more interactive worker placement games I'd highly recommend Dogs of War if you can find a copy to play. Great mix of scheming against each other, allying to screw someone over and backstabbing to try and eke out a win, with mostly hidden information to keep the tension high
Great list Cody! Some excellent WP games u might like: - Lancaster (especially with the expansions in the Big Box) - very direct interaction - Dogs of War by CMON - cut-throat! - Francis Drake - brilliant and plays up to 6 - Caylus 1303 - great revamp - Tribune (one of the first WP games) -
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer The novel thing with that one is that you had different types of workers, so you couldn't do certain actions unless you had scientists... or engineers. Plus, it has an espionage track, where you can make use of other people's buildings, which adds a cool level of interaction that most worker placement games don't usually have. Really fun game. :-)
Good list, Cody. I have been interested in purchasing Dune Imperium and seeing at the top of your worker placement top ten has convinced me to go ahead and pick it up.
Thanks for putting together your various lists. “Pillars of the Earth” (BGG rated around #325 currently) pre-dates “Lords of Waterdeep” by six years. 2006 to 2012.
Great video. Played Dune Imperium this weekend and cannot stop thinking of it. Also huge shout out to Godfather as the 1 board game I can get my wife to play with me.
FYI, Lords of Waterdeep is no where near the first worker placement game. It came out in 2012. Agricola is 5 years its senior, and that wasn't the first either. Great list with many newer entries that I am unfamiliar with.
Found that to be a weird comment as well. I'm not sure it's in the first 100 worker placement games, by release date. Caylus (2005) is often described as the first, but I believe one or two predate Caylus.
Lords of Waterdeep is definitely NOT the first worker-placement game made. It came out in 2012. A worker-placement game like Agricola came out in 2007, and I don't know if that was even the first. That being said, it IS a good game.
I looked it up on BGG, it appears that about the earliest, widely distributed worker-placement game was Caylus, which came out in 2005. There were some earlier games roughly classified as such, but Caylus was definitely a strong worker placement.
Thanks for the love for Dune: Imperium!
Great game!
I completely agree about Dune Imperium. My wife and I have played it well over 200 times and cannot wait for the expansion.
Great game!
Thanks for including After The Empire on your list!
I did it for you.
You 'Top 10' videos are always interesting. Thank you.
Thank you.
Champions of Midgard is the game I have on your list.
And the two expansions are great.
Fantastic!
Never expected to see Dune Imperium as number 1 here.
Why? Love that game.

Sounds fun. Thanks.
Love for Sons of Anarchy!!! Finally!
Indeed. Great game!
I was coming to say the same thing. So many excellent "Are we going to make a fight out of this?" moments

Fantastic. Thanks for the suggestions!
I call Champions of Midgard, Blood Rage for Couples.
Ha!
I sill love the original Manhattan Project. Still is a solid game.
I haven't played that one.

Very good. Danke.
I've played half of these and love them, great list buddy!! Looking forward to play Dune Imperium soon.
Fantastic! Thanks!

Both great games. Thanks!
Would love your review of Gloomhaven and Mage Knight Ultimate Edition someday!
No plans to anytime soon. Maybe somewhere down the line.
And to take credit for the good stuff is truly ceo material.
Ha!
Very good list. Glad to see yhe godfather!
Thanks. I love Godfather.
Best. Joke. Ever.
Thanks!
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer I'm not entirely convinced that it's a joke. Sounds more like wisdom or "best practice" disguised as a joke.
@@meenki347 It was a joke.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer you've got to be joking!

Have you played A Feast for Odin? If so, I'm surprised it didn't make the list!
I haven't played that one. I've heard good things.

Good to know. Prolly the first one I played.

Forgot about Caylus, which I never got around to playing despite its reputation
He said it was HIS introduction to worker placement
Love Dune Imperium Looking forward to the Ix expansion this year.
Me too.

He didnt say it was the first
Have you tried Lost ruins of Arnak?
I have not.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer usually compared to Dune. I like it much more than Dune, to be honest.
Great stuff. I have a couple of these on my own list. As far as management goes, did you get the memo on the TPS reports?
Ha!
No Dominant Species?
Never played the original. You can see my review for DS Marine here: ua-cam.com/video/a92I2QSdXDo/v-deo.html
Lords of Waterdeep sucks- no feeling of D&D. just match cubes with cards.
