China has very little respect for its neighbors or international law, which is precisely why their neighbors are seeking help from powerful countries. Because that's the only thing China respects: Power. It's precisely why South Korea and Japan aren't optimistic about China's future in the region. HIstorically it has viewed those two, and the rest of its neighbors, with barely veiled contempt.

The real kicker is that everyone else hates them too and lumps them in with the Chinese from China due to the perpetual foreigner stereotype, so they're just fucked all around. It's so messed up. Just look at the whole college admissions thing. Not a single soul bothered to differentiate between born American citizens and foreigners on student visas. Asian Americans, who are *American citizens*, were being counted as foreign students by colleges, the media, everyone.

The problem with Chinese soft power is that when it gets popular, the CCP will pass new regulations because some part of it made party members uncomfortable.
e.g. Danmei (Boys Love) dramas "The Untamed" & "Word of Honor" got so popular that new danmei dramas have been de facto banned and some actors have been blacklisted.
e.g. 2, Story of Yanxi Palace is a palace drama that got really popular. And ever since then "excessive scheming" as a plot has been banned.
I love chinese media, but "river crabs" (censors) sure take the fun out of everything when you've experienced works before the crack downs.

Stop...most Chinese Americans have no fucking idea how the Chinese gov works or what policies it actually fucking has. People hating the gov has always been a nice way to sneak in hating everything else. We ultimately hate the gov cuz the Chinese gov didn't kowtow and is doing good things ultimately for itself and it's people and we, the US, don't like that because we view ourselves and basically are the world's hegmon, Asia is not for Asians, it's for us, do you get it?
That's why we want to depose it and put a puppet state in power that will maintain the manufacturing infrastructure and probably have more workers violations than we've ever seen, but hey they'll have "freedom" to complain about it and have nothing done because they ultimately wouldn't have sovereignty anymore, which is kinda the basic freedom to have any other freedoms.

Like Iran was a vibrant democracy, with a quite naive sense of national souvereignty though - until the US (with a little help by its minor buddy UK) regime-changed it into an authoritarian military dictatorship practically under Western control for a quarter of a century (the Iranian revolution then ended this period). The major flaw with democracy in this world how it actually is, is that it's nearly impossible for a country to be democratic and at the same time remain independent from Western influence, interference and coercion. So it may indicate democracy is not the sole indicator of a good country like how western people like to think
E.g. in Australia government officials are lazy and they know people will conplain and protest but they dont have to solve the issues.

Corruption and incompetence still exist in western démocratics countries but I am very surprised to learn how much worse it is in the long run with an autocratic country like China. China is in a very bad economic situation and this is mainly due to its political system which has allowed corruption, cheating at all levels, economic lies at all levels, greeds and nepotism: real estate bubble, tofu dreg project, bankrupt banks, non-existent domestic market, corrupt police. I personally feel the negative percetion has a lot of to do with the increasing negative narrative propogated by mainstream media in the past decase, especially during the past five years. The political relationship between the two countries is apparently going south and someone is manipulating that. For example, I note in an CNN article published eight or 10 years ago, there's a map for China n the article and Taiwan was still included. CNN will never publish an article with that map in today's setting. What happened during these past a few years? Ordinary Americans really wouldn't care about Taiwan's position in the map. After all our democratically elected government and both major parties have declared that the PRC is a strategic competitor which is a diplomatic speak for declaring the PRC as the enemy.
No one can say if Chinese people would choose to support the dictatorship of the Communist Party when given a free choice since they have never had the opportunity. As compared to the USA which hasn’t even had a collective 2 decades of peace ever? The US has been in a constant state of war since it’s fcking inception.
Of the 2 countries, only one has gone around the entire globe building bases, waging wars, displacing governments, staging coups, raping, pillaging, oppressing, stealing natural resources and so much more.
      The other country is China.

I view CCP unfavorably. I like China's martial arts history. White lotus clan and Wong Fei Hung.

This is why ppl support Asian women and Black men coming together, because if Asian females don’t like egg roll then they should get to enjoy chocolate 🍫

Is this a surprise? Communism sucks. Vote Republican to preserve our way of life here in America.
