Why does this say it was commented a week ago-
Edit: yeah I know it was unlisted people told me
Nope
Nope but 49 seconds B)
I wonder if boiling water in the pan would have removed the burnt sauce just as well as the coke.
It works just about as well. The coke has phosphoric acid, which might give it a bit of a boost. Though I clean stuck on stuff via boiling or steaming with plain old water just fine.
I've never done the coke thing, but water and a little bit of vinegar works wonders.
That is what happened. Barbeque is just ketchip sugar and spices. Hot water desolves sugar and the sugars the hard part
@@nothingwhy688 Not quite. Burnt sugar is no longer sugar, it's just carbon. There's likely enough residual sugar though that combined with the moisture and heat from the boiling water is enough to loosen the carbon, and carbon itself is somewhat water-soluble (though not nearly as much as sugar is), and acidity helps as well whether it's phosphoric acid from the cola or another acid like vinegar (acetic acid). But if it's truly burnt to the point of being 100% caked-on carbon, this method will not help you.
@@Abion47 your right. There's ketchup in some barbeque. Meaning the hot water broke up the carbon and and whatever vinegar was left helped it. Plus the heat
Try the burnt pan with just water and I bet it works just as well, all you did was deglaze which is done in cooking all the time.
I thought the same, that’s exactly how I clean my cast iron pan. 🙂
It's not really, truly burnt on though, if it's really burnt you can't even deglaze it.
You beat me to it, I was gonna suggest that
I came here to write that👍
Water does the same thing.
Yeah. It works with just water to clean burnt caramel so I don't see a reason not to work with souse.
“Okay while Nate is burning that, I think my picture has marinated for long enough” I never thought I would ever have to hear that

The glass bottle Coke is honestly so much better. We get a bunch of it on new years and just let it chill outside in the near freezing cold. It's the best. So much better than the corn syrup cola
fyi mexican coke is the same as regular coke look it up before 2010 mexican coke had real sugar but anytime after that it is the same as regular coke. the edit is because i got the date wrong
when i dicoverd that mexican coke is the same as regular coke i felt tricked and bamboozelled also heart broken
I drink the real sugar coke. A local place sells cases of them, 24 for $22.00 plus tax.
@@shrek1907 Then just call them "European style coke".
@@shrek1907 if you get it specifically in the glass bottles it says its made with cane sugar. The plastic bottles are probably done entirely the same no matter where you are
Pro Tip: For burnt pots, instead of wasting cola, use soap and water brought to a boil.
Exactly
Any liquid works... its literally a cooking technique called deglazing the pan...
I don't even use soap, just water works fine.
I think there's something about the sugar, pots are really clean after making jam or heating sugary drinks like Glühwein ^^
Or hot water and a dryer sheet... Soak it for an hour or two and rinse
"All i've done is make this picture of me from homecoming very sticky"

5:23 Me, a european guy : Yep, definitely it will burn at 500°
given that the melting temperature of tin is 232 C, I'd say you are right
Not so fast! A tandori oven cooks at around 500C, and you likely get these sorts of temperatures in a barbacue pit as well. You need this sort of temperature to get that bit of searing that makes ribs and kebabs so tasty.
You could totally cook bacon at this temperature. Just remember that it will cook very quickly and take it out before it burns.
Also, bread is typically baked at around 175-225C, though flatbreads generally benefit from getting the temperature as high as you can, which for my oven is around 280C
Nope, Neapolitan pizza cooks at 500°C..
For you, it's 260°C
@@RabblesTheBinx i think you missed the joke
Never seen someone candy bacon in a pan. Always an oven.
They do experiments the way they want to and wonder why they don't work.
Yeah, the cooking temperature is a key factor in making candied anything. As soon as he said he was going to fry it, I knew it would fail.
@@benhames5162 they do admit that though
As for the pot cleaning you can do the exact same thing by boiling water in the caked on pot.
Even better to pour the liquid in while it’s hot, since the steam generated does most of the work for lifting off the stains. Though the acidity of coke would help in removing stuff as well (which is why tomato sauce often results in shinier pans)
They basically deglazed the pot. Any liquid would work honestly
Exactly 😂
The King of Random is the only thing on UA-cam that is unblocked on my school laptop because it's educational thank you
Stfu Boone
@@bobjob7721 tf?! I’m just confused rn
Not even one of the 500 science channels
Haha very educational
Your schools network manager might just be a fan as TKOR isnt really educational and there are far more educational channels on UA-cam. As far as education goes TKOR is pretty useless.
So the brownie one, soda is a legit replacement for oil and eggs in baking. Most times its sprite not coke but yeah thats probably why you dont see eggs in the video for blossom lol the flavor is usually more subtle in chocolates than if you had used a legit cake and made a yellow or white one 👀
So they took a legit vegan baking thing, poorly explained it, then called it a hack? And lied about the flavor?
Mythbusters had one, possibly more, my memory is hazy, episodes on the uses of Coke, chrome polish, tooth and meat dissolver, car battery terminal cleaner. Whole lot of stuff.
If you drink coke you taste coke
TKOR-2020
Lmao
@Palmer studios no one cares.
This is just like Crazy Russian Hacker
"No Way ! The water taste like water!"
Don’t be mean to Palmer studio’s
i am the 260th to like
The jewellery one was about an oxidised thing as the acid strips the oxide, like the onion hack with rust that didn't work
Coke will clean oxidation, just as any acidic drink, but not so much for anything else
I did the lip balm one once, I used aloe Vera gel/oil and I didn't melt it but I mixed it for a long time and it did work. And also they misunderstood the cola brownie thing in that video, it's supposed to replace all of the other ingredients and not give a taste to it. It's basically a vegan way to make a brownie😂
Coke isn’t vegan though
That's kind of what I was thinking with the lip balm, because it is how you would make a Mayo(Vegan or reg) since the individual ingredients don't mix. Taking it to an emulsification point might make a difference.
@@sambenao7 yes it is though
@@breakingbasha actually, its both vegan and not vegan. If the coke is made using corn syrup or sugar beet, it is vegan, but if it is made with sugarcane sugar, then it is not as animal bone char is used to process the sugar from sugarcane.
@@kriss554 wait really? Coke can be vegan?
6:56 "sugar, corn syrup (dramatic pause)... burning bbq sauce"
I have done the coke and brownie thing however I did it with cake mix and it makes a really dense gooey chocolate cake
That would be the corn syrup at work. It will end up better if you use actual corn syrup, or better yet, sweetened condensed milk.
I’ve done soda cake before too, in college. I didn’t have eggs, and the carbonation acted as leavening.
"Usually cake mixes need the egg too"
*MatPat begs to differ*
Pi Owl
but hey, that's just a theory
Yesssssssssssss
@@planegoesnyoooooom A food theory, thanks for watching!
Dude the bacon one works my dad does it all the time, you didnt cook it high enough
Yeah, they just need to bake it in the oven, I do it all the time. Plus, if you bake on top of a cooking rack, you can drip off the grease, which will help give it a crispier, more candied-like texture.
How old was the photo you used? The digital printers that use ink or dye on "photo" paper are usually water proofed by the final layer to keep the ink where it's supposed to be. Photos printed on light sensitive paper, developed and fixed by chemicals would be a lot more susceptible to this technique. I'd expect to see water damage as well though.
Tea and coffee is often used to tone traditional black and white photos
@@toddavis8151 right so you would think the coke would've worked. Im with Laura on this one the photo was old
honestly I would have wanted calli to print off new photos instead of using an old one :c i feel like old photos are too precious

that actually makes it bigger too lmao
XL003 water has no calories lmao
Life Hack: Breath to prevent suffocation!
Wow this actually worked!!! Thank you!
Wow, this really helps! Everyone should try this!!
I'm curious how well diet coke & mentos works as a fire extinguisher. 🤔
That’s a thing?! I need to try that....
You should really try the bacon in the oven. It's less likely to burn that way
That's right, I make candied bacon all the time and I do in the oven, the way the instructions told them to do, not on the stove
I love how UA-camrs don't follow instructions (this and the brownie recipe since they didn't put as much soda and added the egg and oil) and says it didn't work. They legit sabotage themselves and ruin things that can actually work.
2:02 "That's staying under the bacon"
I heard the same thing 🤣
That reminds me.
I don't remember whether it was Pepsi, Coke Cola, or DR Pepper.
But the "Clear" or "Crystal" variety of a soda was invented because a military man wanted to be able to get the soda in his homeland at a time when such westerner products were contraband.
Crystal Pepsi is a thing
Yeah I remember reading a story about it...it was made for russian/soviet Marshal Zhukov
@@lukaspeprnik9460 yes, you are correct that it was made for Zhukov, but it was not Crystal Pepsi, it was a special formulation of Coca Cola made just for him.
The soda + mix works for any brownie or cake mix, the carbonation creates a leavening effect so you don't need eggs either.
Ironically most of the modern cake mixes don't need eggs or oil added to them just the water
When's the rest of the gang getting their own awesome intro sequence?
When having just ONE work is amazing.
Fun fact: if u keep jewellery in coke for too long
You'll have the paint removed

1:46 when I saw this frame in the intro I thought "that is some weird looking ice!" Little did I know, it was not ice, but bacon! Lol I would have never guessed! 😂😂😂
i thought it was icecream and thought they were gonna have a coke float.
“One actually works” lol
ikr like spoiling your own video

I'm surprised that even one of them worked
Especially when they do the experiments the way they want to and not the same as the original.
I don't even watch alot of the videos but I'm still subbed
Why am I still subbed
I'm starting to wonder the same thing.
Me too... kinda.
I dunno they just AWSOME like that
I have used Coke to clean both rust off a chrome bumper, and battery corrosion off an old car battery. Both on an 85 Caprice Classic.

Facts
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Coke is acidic, that's why I have no stomach lining.
Your stomach acid is way more acidic than Coca cola
@@MikeTaffet its a joke
Mike's right, acidic Coke will not mess with your stomach lining, since stomach acid is even stronger. It'll wreck your teeth though!
@@MikeTaffet actually, it's not. Stomach acid varies in pH from 1.5 when digesting food, to 3.5 in a natural state. Coke has a pH of 2.5.
@@OneTruePhreak You can't say stomach acid isn't stronger than coke which has a pH of 2.5 then say stomach acid varies from 1.5 to 3.5. when 1.5 is a stronger acid than 2.5
Wait this was 6 hacks: photo, brownies, pot, jewelry, lip balm, bacon.

For real i was looking in the comments thinking is no one talking about this or what hahah
"So I got some glass bottle, made with sugar Coca-Cola"... Did Nate not want to say Mexican Coca-Cola? Because that's what it is. Lol.
It's not just Mexican. Many other countries that don't use chemicals for sugar use it lol

@@AnimeBee25 lmao
This is the first comment where I did not see the word first lol
With the pan even soapy water put to boil will work too, and without wasting the coke. I think this one needed a control pan.
Id love to see different brownie ideas. i use applesauce to make it fudgy but im not sure how much it really helps!
I quite often use a can of coke or other fizzy drink in cake mixes to replace the eggs etc, works a treat :)
I just love how you do experiments, they do it one way, but we'll do it completely different, and it didn't work. AMAZING!!!
Well you shouldn't have cooked the bacon in a pan. For it to get properly candied it needs the more indirect heat from the oven.
Love the randomness of this video!
You could make a follow-up video exploring that dish-cleaning cola comparing it to soap, hot water and some other common stains as well.
When 1 life hack is actually true.. *There is 1 impostor among us*
Cake mixes need egg?? yall need to check out Food Theory XD they did an episode on ready mixes and eggs
Very helpful vid!
I do Aluminum Foil and Coke to clean off rust off chrome or other metals. It works.
The sound editing is a bit all over the place in this one. Not terrible, but the levels were a bit uneven. Did a mic fail during recording, or something?
I noticed that too. Not the end of the world, but it surprised me that it slipped past the editor this time.
I feel like they need to do a debunking colab with how to cook that (aka. Ann Readon)
Yes!!!
Putting some coke (or anything sparkling) in dough makes cake really fluffy.
Simply boiling water would effectively remove burnt food encrusted on a stainless steel pot. You don't have to use coke.

in the pot test, did you try just water first to see if that would clean it as well?
Independent variable: the coca cola hacks
Dependent variable: if the hack works or not
Controlled variable: The cola
You actually got this one right lol
People: *trying not to burn their pans*
King of random: *burns their pans on purpose*
Cola does actually have a history of removing rust from rusty nails for instance, though does items we're WAAAAY more rustier than that necklace.
Stainless steel cleans up fairly easily on its own. I just soak mine in the sink with water and they come clean. I don't know if the coke added anything to that or not, but I'm willing to give it a try. Thank you for your videos...it definitely gives a person something to think about! :)
Plz freeze dry more stuff. Everything in the freezedyer seems so fun. Can you freeze dry a whole days worth of food like with breakfast lunch dinner and dessert?
MREs, and Emergency food kits are already pretty much that. Its also basically what astronauts eat in space on missions.
Even though Cali may be pale, she is still beautiful. I feel there is beauty in all shades of color. Everyone, remember that. 😊
Can you try putting food dye into gallium im curious if it will remain the same color
Boiling water will easily do the same thing for the burnt BBQ sauce. I clean sticky pans that way all the time :P

pot roast, can of cola, garlic clove, 8 hours low in slow cooker. great dinner!
*Fun fact:- I want Coca-Cola*
i woud never try any of thees live hacks
You can use water and boil it to remove anything stuck on to a pan. It's actually a cooking technique called "deglazing".
The cola brownie one is actually a general baking hack you can also do with cakes. It's a "if you don't have oil and eggs around but you have soda and a cake/brownie mix" thing. You can actually use any soda and can do it with sugar free sodas for a lower fat cake if someone is concerned about that. Though they are considerably denser and more moist than going by the baking instructions.
In other words, a little less about flavor, more about ingredient replacement.
I’m not saying any of these would have worked if you’d done them differently but your scientific method seems flawed if you say “we didn’t do it the way they said to and it didn’t work the way they said it would.”
Imagine if TKOR replies and hearts this comment.

As far as the Coke cleaning the pot I was fairly certain it would work if only because you were heating a liquid to release the burned on sauce. I've cleaned burned on messes like that by using only water, however.
