      @thewinsty  Рік тому +1

      I would love to share but personally I don’t even know. Price factors a lot into my decision in the way that if I can minimize my losses when selling I’ll be quite inclined to get it. For example, an 8k frame selling for 4k, or 8k frame that I can sell at close to 7k in the future. But all I know is I must sell something before I make any serious consideration. These are the ways I attempt to keep this expensive hobby sustainable

    I think it’s the bike shop issue. They got so much money stucked on inventories that nobody wants and when it comes to investing and bringing in something people really want, they got no cash flow to roll. Common issue since the cycling pre-post Covid hype ended.

    I’d really like to see you do a review of your bibs.. you’ve got a nice collection of Maap, Attaquer, Pedal Mafia and any P.N.S? What’s your go to bib for long rides? Thanks

    • @thewinsty
      @thewinsty  Рік тому +8

      The only PNS I have so far is the one between my legs. For long rides I would definitely opt for MAAP, the ones with the 3D moulded chamois that’s comes with their alt road or Team Evo/Pro bibs. I find the Team Evo bibs to be more comfortable than the Pro bibs (which cost $60 more). However I have a friend who thinks Pro feels better than Evo. I think Pro is good that the colour doesn’t fade after multiple washes, whereas I find the Evo‘s colour fades with washing. Ok I agree it might be worthwhile to do a review video

    • @Oakpathetics

    I get it. It's like buying a Rolex. You either keep it at least until the end of production or you immediately sell it (with a mark-up) to people who don't want to wait.
    For bikes, the first option is pointless, the latter is the way to go. You basically ride an immediate profit.
    I had the same idea for my gravel bike when the market situation was bad and demand really high but too bad, I was pretty much the last person to receive one

    To some degrees, the shortage is a good thing. Under this circumstance, there is only one type of riders who will buy new Supersix, which is the ones with at least one road bike in garage, having decent amount of money and a special taste with preference on new Supersix which let these buyer being able to withstand this long period of waiting. In short, this kind of shortage filtered out the people with herd mentality who know little about bike, hardly have riding experience and skills but still pursue premium bikes. Of course, this is good for the owner, for it increases the identity of the ownership, but for the people still in the waitinglist, it is arduously suffering.

    These all arounders are just boring bikes man, unless u spend most of your time climbing, and honestly if you're above 180lbs, a lighter bike ain't exactly gonna revolutionize your climbing game, so optomize your aero, not a fan.

    Who cares about a "launch" ... the quality of the bike itself is what counts. You don't talk about bike fit, geometry, size which is a major oversight.

    • @thewinsty
      @thewinsty  Рік тому +3

      It’s a good quality bike but if you’re based in Singapore you would understand that nobody can buy one locally, so all the marketing hype created is pointless in the local market context. I have mentioned geometry and size in my earlier videos about this bike, also in this video about headtube angle. I don’t talk about the bike fit aspect as part of my review because it’s not really the manufacturer’s fault if the bike doesn’t fit me well, the responsibility falls on me to adjust the stem/saddle position to make it work. And even then, what fits me poorly/well may not apply for others since fit is so personal.

    • @lancelink88
      @lancelink88 Рік тому

      @@thewinsty Supply not equalling demand is not a "launch" issue. It happened in a lot of countries even now. You don't have the qualifications to comment on the bike market or technical bike aspects. Your excuses are invalid.

    • @thewinsty
      @thewinsty  Рік тому +2

      @@lancelink88 I don't have bike market qualifications but as a lay consumer I think companies should ensure they have the supply chain sorted before they launch a product, unless it is their intentional strategy to restrict supply but I don't think this is the case here. Let's say Apple launches the new iPhone in Sept announcing fancy features and creating lots of anticipation but by July the following year they are still saying they are out of stock and barely anyone has managed to buy their phones. In other words they launched but nobody can buy. As a lay person I would call that a launch failure. In Sg, it is not just that demand is more than supply (that is a sign of healthy sales). Rather, over here supply is pretty much zero, they say it'll come in May, then Sept, then Nov... so on. They also hyped up the handlebar in Feb but we were told "it is not ready yet, no stock has arrived" when I wanted to buy one in May. But anyway don't take the title too seriously, it is doing its job as intended haha :)
