That fountain pen licence and shopping experience sounds like the first time getting a wand in the wizarding world, a nice personalised experience.
I didn’t understand how an ink could creep you out until I put Robert Oster Blood Moon in a pen today and everything I wrote reminds me of crime scene evidence. I did not expect that!

Autumn Oak is just okay. Dominant Industry Autumn Forest is one a lot of people like and mention and I'm planning to buy a big bottle of it.
I relate so hard to the video of your cat climbing through the blinds. We have three cats ans they all do stuff like that.
As for autumn oak I've never seen it in person so I don't really have a good idea of if I like it or not.
What a wonderful idea to learn to write with a fountain pen. It is an interesting reaction you have to the ink. I like the colour of the ink.
I just bought a Pelikano left hand beginners pen, because I heard it was a wet writer, and it really is. Got it online for under $25. I use it to practice my hand position and pressure since I’m fairly new to the hobby and as a left-handed user, I wanted to see what a specific nib made for left handers would feel like!
I also have a Pelikano and agree it's very wet and forgiving 😂
Lamy also has a nib for lefties.
You may want to try Robert Oster Whiskey or Brandy. Whiskey is my favorite for a deeper autumn orange 🍂

This is one of those colors I like as part of a palette that provide it with more autumny context, but not just in general.

I have this ink as a maybe for October.
Feel the same way about this ink. I can‘t handle Oxblood and this one also gives me the creeps.
I have yet to try Dominant Industry inks, I think Autumn Forest is the one I am going for. 🎉

i like it going down, i dont see green, but i have not tried special papers. on your notebook it kind of looks like an open sor😕. fun video though. ps i've never seen a shimmer look like the first ink you showed! if you want the red and yellow without the green, you could try noodlers habanaro? have a blessed autumn!
I also really dislike Autumn Oak! It looks pretty in online swatches, but I thought it was gross in person. Somehow red and yellow but not orange. And yeah, like dried blood. Blech. Though somehow I liked my swatch of Colorverse Martian, which is similar. 🤷♀

I'm sure what you are experiencing is real. I don't have it but sensory 'issues' are definitely real. If I even feel a thread out of place on my skin from inside my clothing or a loose hair that has fallen hits my skin it really bothers me to the point of not being able to focus on anything until I rid myself of it. I myself like Autumn Oak but this autumn I have opted for Diamine Orange Blaze instead. Blaze Orange is vivid and yet shades on most Tomoe and Leuchtturm paper, at least in my TWSBI medium nib. Hope your cat is on the mend!
Hi, Yes - your first ink looks moldy - it happens. I love all colors - some more than others but none creep me out. Sorry that happens to you! Everyone is affected by colors differently - you don't need to apologize! Thanks for another video, I'm enjoying the colors!

They can grow mold sometimes. Now you see why samples are so popular. Who wants to even have to track how old an ink is and check for mold? Lol clearly even sample sizes can get overwhelming in quantity. I’m shocked that some of the dedicated online swatchers can still have ink samples left that are old enough to question.
Someone made a mistake about 3 years ago when I ordered a bottle of diamine Autumn Oak I got Ocher instead and I regret it cause I dont use it and I just got a bottle of autumn oak its in my inkvent order so I will get it when I revieve my inkvent :) cant wait

I am not a fan of Autumn Oak, I find it to be light and wishy washy - maybe it was the sample I got, or maybe it has been the pens I have used it in, or maybe it is just because of my undying love for Ancient Copper that outshines this ink from every direction in the Autumnal vibe category? Thanks for sharing another fun day living the 30ink30day life!

There is something off-putting about Autumn Oak! I really wanted to like it.
