Tbh I was surprised to see you do a trailer reaction to Alien: Romulus because I thought you weren’t into the bloody alien horror type of movies, but I’m glad you did it because this trailer looks so 🔥and I can’t wait for August to come around to finally see it. This trailer does give me vibes of the first Alien movie. I’d give this trailer 5 hoots for sure!

I’m going to see this movie been looking for a good scary sci-fi alien movie and I live this franchise!
As a trailer, I have to say it worked, it made the film look interesting. Like Michelle I enjoyed Alien and Aliens, thought they were both brilliant films and Sigourney Weaver was excellent in both. Since then the Alien franchise has produced nothing but turkeys as far as I am concerned. I doubt this one will be worth the price of the ticket, however the trailer makes it look, thanks Michelle nice review as usual.

Ripley has always been one of the top female leads in action films.

Romulus , was the founder of rome , him and his twin brother remus. Mother died giving birth , found by a she wolf , adopted them hence the expression ( raised by wolves)
Rome is named after him he sort of invented our version of marriage. Carrying the bride over the treashold , his him. A few other things
We will see if they can recapture the magic without Sigourney. The trailer did remind me of her with her rifle in the first movie.

I love all the Alien films. Yes even the late, confusing Prometheus and loathed Alien Covenant but I will say, I can tell just by the trailer and credits this is going to be an improvement on those.
Totally agree with your take, they'll never re-create the magic of the original and it does have that modern genericism we all know and love. And maybe just wishful thinking by me but I think we're going to be surprised how good this one is.

I thought the trailer looked above avg it did what it was suppose to do as for the characters we can’t tell from 1 min trailer we will just have to wait and see but I think they nailed the atmosphere looks similar to the first and second film.
I heard the director here is going for a blend of exhilarating action of the 86 "Aliens" movie, combined with the Suspense of Scott's 79 masterpiece "Alien", gonna be hard to get that balance i think. I also havn't saw any of Fede Alverez horror movies but i heard they're good. i'll give this a chance.

I don't mind if it's a little different from the first movies - after all, I don't want to see a repeat of those, and you can't beat the originals anyway.
So it should do its own thing.

Excellent jingle choice for the intro!
It's full of pep, it's short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome, and it feels appropriate for a channel about movies, can't explain why.

I would have liked to seen more in the tease, I do agree the first movie was good also Aliens, top two sifi/horror movies throw in the third for good measure, great review Michelle. Natalie was there in spirit.

This trailer alone looks on par with the first film. I am a huge fan of Fede Alvarez as a director. This looks poised to deliver something extraordinary and tense.

Cautiously optimistic, I would say. I think I see what they're going for here, but they're really gonna have to work for it because there are so many bad Alien films. Hehe. I love your reaction to this!
i think that's the new lead for this movie, Cailee Spaeny @ 1:47 ~ i know what you mean about Sigourney Weaver's charisma helping the original movie jump off the screen, which helped it become such a classic, and she definitely made it more special than it would've been without her. So those are tough shoes to fill for sure.
But this girl (who i first took notice of in 'Pacific Rim Uprising') was great in her portrayal in 'Priscilla' the Priscilla Presley biopic by Sofia Coppola. Definitely check out that film, and i think you'll be more impressed by her when looking forward to 'Alien: Romulus' 👽🌌
The volume of the intro is a tad bit loud compared to the rest of the video when listening via earphones. Don't know if it's like that for anyone else 😅

Hi Michelle! This was reminiscent of the original, however, it bit more messy. I’m wondering if there are ties to the original character from the first movies. On a different note, you reminded me of a newscaster during this reaction. 😂

I think that they got the tone right, which I would expect with Ridley Scott producing. It seems to be leaning more toward Aliens than Alien, but that's to be expected. My only critique is that I would have liked to have seen something about the actual plot, though it is only a teaser so they probably wanted everyone to see that they got the look and tone of an Alien film correct.
By the way, you should definitely check out Don't Breathe and Evil Dead. Don't Breathe has an intersting twist on the "teens stumble across a monster" trope. The sequel, Don't Breathe 2, is also interesting and takes a bit of a different direction than I was expecting but it did successfully avoid rehashing the plot of the first film. Evil Dead (the 2013 remake) was surprisingly good, though it helps if you're familiar with the first two films at least, since there are a lot of little references and Easter Eggs for fans, but it does work pretty well as a standalone film even if you've never seen the originals. Be warned though, it's quite gory.

The original Alien is definitely an excellent "horror" movie. It’s one of my favorites. May have to go see Alien Romulus it could be a fun movie.
The trailer looks good. Not great, but good. Even though I'm getting alien remake vibes, it looks good enough to maybe spend money on tickets. I will wait to see what the final trailer has to give to sell it or not to me.
Alien. Terrified me. Great action and effect's pure suspense with professional acting plus I fell in Love/Lust with Sigourney Weaver. So leave it alone! This hijacking of classic movie's because teenagers+ haven't seen them is pure laziness.. I love sci-fi horror but don't try to think we don't see you using other people's work! The Crow. Blade. Oldboy. Mulan. Italian Job. 2016 Ghostbusters?. and many many more. Write some new Stuff. Rant over and I hope Natalie is well and Cheer's Beautiful Michelle.xx
@Force of Light Entertainment I agree with you on some of the points you stated, Michelle . That said the trailer did nothing for me as it didn't pique my interest as I felt quite bored. For me personally, it appears like a rehash of the iconic first movie and as you stated, quite generic. I am not going to bother with it. I just want to see unique, fresh new IPs and this looks like another creatively bankrupt movie.
I agree that it looks a bit generic. I wonder how much cgi vs practical effects are in this movie, maybe that has something to do with it. I liked the first two films, especially "Alien(s)," though I'm not big into "horror" movies. Unless everyone says it's amazing, I will probably pass. Thanks for the Reaction. 👍😎👍
You should check out Fede's remake of Evil Dead, it's unbelievably good.
It would seem to me that unless you have viewed Prometheus (I recommend it) and subsequent films in the Alien series Romulus might seem disjointed.

The only thing that worries me a lot is that Disney screwed up the movie and I don't trust the Argentine Fede Alvarez very much because what they did with Marvel Studios with that Argentine that was previously there destroyed Marvel Studios 😞

Wow... I'm definitely seeing this one. I saw Alien: Covenant in the theater in 2017 and loved it. Sci Fi Horror movies are most certainly my favorite genre of movies.
It didn't grab me. I'll need to see what the next trailer looks like.
I'll need to see something more compelling on the next trailer because this just looks like an amalgamation of the previous movies and doesn't seem to be pushing things forward.
That is my wooden nickel view though.

There's too much blood in the trailer, it might be entertaining but I'm not expecting anything like the first two movies, more like the last ones: some action, a scarejump here and there and good CGI.

Everything is clean and sterile, so do the cast of child looking actors, sterile, clean, where's the grease sweat grime. Disney had a way of sterilising everything the touch, running good ip into the ground, usual a weird writing room where they think they need to rewrite things for a modern audience, the hubris never ends for this terminally online generation

This ain’t my cup of tea. I saw “Alien” in 1979 and have never seen it since. But I still remember it. I really hate movies like this. I really don’t understand the mindset that “enjoys” this. I would be happy if “Alien” never had another movie made ever. Yuk. Watching people die needlessly and pointlessly does not entertain me. It makes me sick. I realize I am in the minority here, but that’s it. As I get older my tolerance for cinematic violence is reduced. This started when I saw the first “Alien” movie and got worse when saw “Robocop.” Is mindless bloodletting really the way forward?!
