I host a JOTL group at my place every 3 week. I'm happy you are enjoying it as much as we are. The minis are pretty terrible but I painted them anyway. I'm also enjoying finding proxies for the monsters and 3d printing/painting them up too.
@Trapped Under Plastic you lads should carve out two or three hours to swing by Ral Partha Legacy during Vincey-Con next year. Come for lunch, check out the master casts, see vintage figures, and enjoy some good conversation and a little bit of miniatures history. Come as guests, leave as friends.
@Miniac of a sort, Jacob has the Archive room with masters and greens of a good portion of the Ral Partha catalog from 1979-1989, some things that weren't even produced as well. There is also the game room with over 9000 painted minis (last count that I know of, probably more by now), that were painted by painters from all over the world (I even painted a few), and of course there is the production facility, with the spin-cast machines, hot pots, and mold making presses; not to mention racks upon racks of molds. One of the best things is the sheer knowledge that Jake has about the industry as a whole and the stories behind Ral Partha and the sculptors that made it what it was in the past, and what it continues to become. I had invited your gang this year by way of @Tabletop Minions but I think they wanted to paint instead, which is understandable, but since it's less than 20 miles from Vince's dungeon of delights, it would be a shame to not stop in sometime.
high levels of CO2 in your blood make your breathing slow down. the brain "reads" the high resp rate and the increase in the CO2 levels in your blood (which cause a slight acidification of the blood) and realises the two are directly related; therefore it "gives commands" to the resp muscle to slow down in order to rehestablish the correct ph in the blood. the brown paper bag is just a way we use to trigger this reaction so that we can slow down and relax . the light headedness is just a consequence of the higher CO2 levels, there is no calming effect directly related to it. this is the loopy doopy effect #loopydoopy. great show as always guys kep it up. I will come see you one day at adepticon.
About GW’s Ultramarines Blue paint: it’s not actually Ultramarine blue. Since Ultramarines have generally been more of a Cobalt blue in tone, it makes sense to steer clear of actually calling the paint Ultramarine blue to try and avoid complete confusion. Naturally, it’s also about their IP but I think it’s interesting that Ultramarines in 40K have typically not been Ultramarine in tone.
Gotta up vote Tanks for the Apocalypse! Is a phenomenal game. We played it for our TANKSgiving day game. Very fun and easy barrier of entry for our non hardcore gaming friends
That "Darkness" paint Jon talks about sounds a lot like Payne's Grey, or at least a version of it. I've really liked how the Golden Fluid Acrylic PG works. Pretty glossy finish if you don't mix it, but that's not hard to fix
Um, ackshally... The brown paper bag trick is to slow your breathing down, as you focus on filling up the bag with each large breath, rather than loads of shallow breaths. Also the act of focussing on filling the bag can break your concentration on whatever is causing you to hyperventilate. You don't even need an actual bag, if you can breathe into your fist and visualise a bag filling and contracting, you can get the same benefit.
LMAO at the intro Lived in Invercargill about 10 years ago when I was just getting back into the hobby as an adult! Good times - very expensive models. 😂
I read this as "personas" and I was like "hold up, we talking 3, 4, or 5 summoning" (which I am sure will go over 100% of this comments section's heads)
If any of you have a chance to take a class from Vincenzo you absolutely should! Great teacher and fun vibes. He gives great advice and feedback. I will 100% take another class from him in the future.
Lots of gameplay, lots of cool miniatures, but not that much play testing seems to be common with Steamforged. I know they hired a guy a year (?) or so ago with a lot of experience, maybe that will change but takes a while before that can be noticed. :)
Merry Christmass guys :). I love Tainted Grail but if you had not started it yet I would wait few months because there will be big update to game with like a second big campaign called Kings of ruin. And with that original game will get update 2.0. But yeah minis from Awaken realms are really good :)
Hi Guys, You really sold me on the tanks game to do with my family. But I couldn’t really figure out how or where to buys and find the rules. Any details please or is it not ready yet ?
Howdy. What can I do to get the two of you to come play a game of Saga? We will be in the historical hotel but will have beer. :) Asking TTMinions as well. Just a quick intro game....thanks
I've noticed kimera paints for sale on scale 75s website. Are they connected somehow ? I dont see them selling a brand they aren't affiliated with ya know. Would be like army painter having citadel paint on their webstore. Jon hurts my heart everytime he rags on o. Scale 75. I fell in love with the brand. I own about 2/3 of their line so far. His brand Monument hobbies I find too watery. I dont hate it but I would use it more for specific purposes not as a main go to.
For the people not showing up, charge a decently high price, and then if they show up, they get a full refund. A dollar or two won't stop them doing what they did last year.
The untested bloated campaign effect is a reason I stopped backing the big box kickstarters like bardsung. The companies make big promises on content, but then lack the resources to do much testing and balance, especially for anything with a long campaign. It's a shame, but particularly for companies like Steamforged who seem to rely on kickstarter and not retail to sell their boardgames now, they lack incentive to actually tighten up the full game since backers back it before they see the finished product, and enough backers don't hold them accountable and just back the next one too because it has a slick sales pitch or IP cool looking miniature renders.
OMG Jon you if you liked the tank game you need to play MechWarrior. Mechs are just big tanks.Get over your stigma regarding MechWarrior, play it and have some fun.. That post seemed a little aggressive for a Canadian. Sorry eh.
Please get rid of those wierd plants above your heads. they look out of place and are distracting. Either that or make them the center pieces and use them as the hosts of the podcast.
It's a TUP and Tendies Xmas. It's like Santa dumped a hard giftmass load right in my eyes and ears.
Thank you for all the TUP in 2023!
It's great to hear the creative painters of the hobby getting together. It's one thing I need more of.
I host a JOTL group at my place every 3 week. I'm happy you are enjoying it as much as we are. The minis are pretty terrible but I painted them anyway. I'm also enjoying finding proxies for the monsters and 3d printing/painting them up too.
Thanks for another TUP year! Happy holidays

That sounds pretty cool. Is this a museum or something?

Hey thanks a lot for mentioning the classes! Love you guys

Here we go, Great Guys!
What a Christmas gift! Happy holidays guys!
Merry Christmas! Going to my first Adepticon this year; hope I can snag a spot and see you guys live. :)
Holy Christmas. Thanks Brothers
Really enjoyed John's recap op Vinceycon! Also, I would love to see many more videos on John's GD project!
Charge 10$ but give out the 2-3 most popular ninjon signature paints as a surprise, or a printed mini at the end of the show.

As someone with an ism myself, I totally understand Jon's need to say "The Black Pearl" every so often lmao
If you two haven't tried it yet, Hero's Quest. It's super simple, but also super fun

Vinceycon T should have the welcome sign and him in an apron saying "Sure"
Jon over here kit-bashing meals with cheeseballs....😂

Did you guys get a new camera??? The image quality is amazing for this one!
Hi Guys,
You really sold me on the tanks game to do with my family. But I couldn’t really figure out how or where to buys and find the rules.

Merry Christmas! Love your review of Bardsung! I really like the mechanics, but the campaign is a bit long. Hopefully they do Bardsung 2.0.

Oh a Christmas drop. But no time to watch it today!
Great episode guys?
What is Vince using for tank models? Sure hope I don't have to shell out $45 a piece
Quietly adds “Loopy Doopy” to Wikipedia
Cawdor are also referred to as robo-hobos😅

As some one who actually lives in Invercargill, the arsehole of the world and who watches your podcast, i should be offended, but im not...
I didnt catch the name of the STL line that made the dwarves and Lunchtime? can anyone help?
Durgin paint forge
I would love to be at viniVcon
The way Jon describes Cavill's acting proves that he'd be perfect as an Ultramarine. I mean, you can't do better casting than that.
oohh... first?

These simple skirmish games sound awesome! Does anyone know if there are similar rules for jet fighters?
