      When you've got the hand and arm blocked, don't just try and roll to the side. You need to "bridge" which isn't explained in the video though it is visible if you watch. Before rolling to the side to attempt to get the attacker off you, explosively thrust your pelvis upwards. Short, sharp upwards movement destabilises them, immediately followed by the change in body position to roll over them. Watch at around 2:30 where he's saying to push with the legs - vertically upwards (or ever so slightly to the side) first, then the big move to change direction afterwards.

    I'm really liking Krav Maga.
    For me , it has been a choice between this and BJJ. As someone who knows nothing about self defense. I think KM will help me a lot quicker though in time I may join BJJ too.
    I think KM is a more realistic and easier and straight to the point style to help me out.

    • @markchewning2
      @markchewning2 9 років тому +4

      I would choose the to train in KM that borrows the appropriate techniques for each given situation. BJJ is fantastic as long as all the other crooks agree to not hit you on the head once you start winning against the one guy you are currently wrestling with.

    • @emiliog9402
      @emiliog9402 9 років тому +7

      if you can do both you'll have a very good well rounded fight system i've been practicing bjj for along time and military combatives and what i've found is bjj is a very good controlling system to lock someone up and give you the option to break their joints or choke them out and krav maga is good for defending your life against 1 or more people while standing in life or death situations add them together and it's a good mix of lethal and non lethal hand to hand system so by all means both is a good choice

    • @FortressMT
      @FortressMT 8 років тому +8

      +miles2057 There is no such thing as quick or easy way in self defense or martial arts. KM has more half-ass executed techniques that are just done aggressively. Honestly, a blue belt in BJJ could smoke most any Krav instructor. Have seen it. Put your time, money, and effort in BJJ and some boxing since Krav spends very little time on any effective striking. Speaking as someone who owns a combat gym and have seen what's being taught out there. The reason it's taught to military is because the soldiers need to learn something quick going through bootcamp...in the end, it's about aggression and attitude, which Krav displays VERY well!!

    • @ldelinlive
      @ldelinlive 8 років тому +1

      +Fortress: Personal Defense Solutions or you could just mix up because krav maga can save your life in a street fight because you do not want to get on the ground in a street fight because you never know who will come out of nowhere and start jumping you but I do agree you should boxing and ju jitsu as well

    • @esetexano1
      @esetexano1 7 років тому +4

      Fortress: Personal Defense Solutions completely agreed krav maga is necessary use of combat under aggressive drills I think 1st it's bjj and then Krav maga

    BJJ and Krav Maga have a lot of good techniques however for life and death situations (choking is the fear death or grievous bodily harm) remaining within the niceties of dojo rules is not required or advisable. Don't normally see that from Krave Maga. If he is full mounted and leaning down close enough to reach, grab the back of his head so he cannot get away and at the same time apply a tiger (or eagle) claw to the windpipe. Touch fingers together behind the trachea then buck the hips up high while twisting the head with your two hands to one side of the other to get him off. Continue the choke if possible, begin striking or reposition back up to your feet to acquire intervention options if in uniform with gear. Re-asses. Conversely, if while mounted his arms are extended, buck the hips up high while driving both hands up between his arms. As he falls forward, bring your hands down to the outside of his legs, horse bite the flesh of the thighs and bridge until you roll him over and end up on your knees, him on his back. Re-assess from there if you need to get up, strike etc. Solicit pain when possible. This is not suppose to be a fair fight. It is close quarter combat.

    did pluck the thumbs and worked jiu jitsu to do the reversal. was not exactly the 45 degree reversal. it was more of a arm bar manipulation after bucking my hips and getting my hooks in on one side and then rotating my hips when his balance is off centered.while work a arm bar on one side for the reversal. also i work a double arm break from back. by after plucking the thumbs locking my legs around his neck..after i get him off full mount and shrimp out to either a get on my feet . or b kick from ground.. i guess if he gets guard i could go for the double arm break after plucking the thumbs ..kind of difficult for the full mount. position for the breaking of the arms.

    Of course the obvious question is what if the person doing the full mount is too heavy to flip, but I'm sure that you guys will cover this soon. This channel is awesome btw!

    • @TheCrushmaster
      @TheCrushmaster 9 років тому

      They would have to be positively massive, as the strength of the techniques used here is enormous. I would think that he'd have to be like 400-500 pounds for it to be an issue...

    • @mecemodzada8315
      @mecemodzada8315 9 років тому +15

      Heavy people usually don't have a good sense of balance. You must remember the leg lock thing, and from that it is simple physics. However if you are fighting a 110 kg judo master you are out of luck.

    • @brentr926
      @brentr926 9 років тому +9

      If he's choking you from the mount, it's likely he has his weight pitched slightly forward instead of centered on your midsection. This will make the throw easier.
