Gilmour’s iconic guitar solo towards the end brings an ethereal vibe, almost as if the music itself is longing for something that slipped away. It’s one of those songs that hits you with a mix of awe and introspection every time.
I have a notebook where I write down what different reactors say after experiencing a Pink Floyd song, trying to put into words how it makes them feel. Today I added your words. I agree that they're a gift from God. The way I see it is, they were all born at the end of or after the second world war, and when they matured they gave us their music, it's like a healing balm for the soul wounds of war. All of their songs are about calling out abuse of power, the shallowness of a life chasing money, not turning away from the result of these things, healing your past, listening with the inner ear and seeing with the inner eye. And the trajectory of all their songs is the future. I love Pink Floyd and I love your reactions to their music. 💗✌🏽🤘🏽🖖🏽
Lyrics were written by Dave Gilmour, Rick Wright and Dave's wife her first credit. She did some on DSOT , Division Bell , and most of all Dave's 2 solo's and all of his just new release with family members . Romany His daughter will blew your sock off. Dave's is 78 and still can sing.
David Gilmour is still performing this on his current tour (he is 78!). There is a beautiful performance of this at his ‘Live at Pompeii’ gig - worth checking out. Live performances give you the chance to see the musicians living their music! Love your Pink Floyd journey so far 😊
Greetings from Miami, Florida! It’s great to see your enthusiastic reaction. If you get a chance, please check out the PULSE live version of High Hopes.
Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands ever. They are masters at digging deep into our souls and pulling out our deepest feelings. Now, as I see that you have done some Nightwish, I suggest that you take a look at their tribute to Pink Floyd and this song from the 2005 End of an Era DVD. It's a version that stays true to the song yet definately adds that distinctive Nightwish flavor.
Try Comfortably numb, from the epic Pulse live concert. Best live guitar solo ever. In fact, listen to the whole Pulse concert. Wish you were here The dark side of the moon The wall Meddle (especially side two with the sing Echoes). Pink Floyd is deeper than the Mariana trench. PF was, is and will always be my most favorite band.
I have already reacted to it, and you can find it on my Pink Floyd reaction playlist. I talked almost all through, so you may not like it, but it was my second reaction to them and my first week as a reactor, so I was new and did not understand the importance of David Gilmour.
I enjoyed your reaction to entering the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, I'm sure that you will enjoy the journey if you choose to see how far the rabbit hole goes, May I suggest that you check out their 1994 Pulse Concert in London, allowing you to see the band perform these Master Pieces as you experience them, maybe do the entire Concert in segments ? Thank You for allowing us all to join you on your journey entering the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, I hope that you do continue to see how far it goes. God Bless
Yes, a gift from God - while others have suggested the live version from the Pulse concert, you should instead watch the live version from Gdansk Poland in 2006. It has the entire string section of the Polish orchestra and then David's two solos at the end are indeed heavenly or angelic in nature: ua-cam.com/video/rU_k8BNCcOM/v-deo.html ( High Hopes - David Gilmour live @ Gdansk 2006 ) If that acoustic guitar solo at the end of the Gdansk performance does not make you feel something or shed a tear, you have no soul!
Do yourself a favor please listen to this Pink Floyd 1994 pulse concert and what how they do this…. Even if you don’t review it, watch it privately and look at the precision and all the instruments that they bring.

Hi, Franklin. The live version from Pulse 1994 is beyond amazing. All the best.
"The endless River,
Forever and ever"
Long live Pink Floyd.
You must watch the live Pulse version of this song. Even better.
Will look them up. Thanks.
@@Franklynreact by this song I meant "High Hopes". The quote I mentioned is the last line from the song.
ON THE TURNING AWAY is another beautiful song 😊

@@Franklynreact Gilmour’s ‘Remember that night’ live concert is also a must see and hear one.
The live Pulse concert version is even better in my opinion.
It has been said that Fender invented the Stratocaster but God put it in David Gilmours hands.....
I agree!
Watch Pulse but the restored versions for the best experience in footage and sound
Check my playlist, you’ll find some of my PULSE reactions.
