We had our first suite experience last November (2021) on the Apex Transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Florida. The whole experience was so incredible that we can't imagine future cruising in any other category. The Sky Suite itself was perfect for us and was everything you stated (except the wind noise), but what makes the suite experience so phenomenal is access to The Retreat. The Luminae, the Retreat sundeck, and the Retreat lounge were an unforgettable immersion into the world of luxury. It was like cruising on a private ship within a ship, if that makes sense! We are booked in a Magic Carpet Sky Suite on the Beyond next June in Europe and cannot wait! The Magic Carpet Sky Suite has an extra large veranda with lounge chairs and regular chairs. If one can afford it, an upgrade to a Sky Suite is very much worth it.
I'm really glad to have "stumbled" on your videos. It has now moved to my number 1 cruise review. There is another gentleman who does an excellent review and video. We have sailed on Viking and loved it. We then tried a loft suite and on RCCL Allure and were sold on suites which have the private lounges and restaurant (Suite Lounge and The Retreat). We have booked a sunset sky suite on Celebrity Equinox for an April sailing to the southern Caribbean. I hope Celebrity will provide us with a great trip (I think it will). Keep up the good work, and...GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!!
Your message is great the one think that you forget to say that staying in the Retreat is that you really have a separate area to check in and a lounge area before boarding. The same when disembarking you get to go to the retreat if you want and they will walk you off. Just thought I would mention that. Also will be on the Beyond this October out of NJ for the trip to her home port in FL.
Just found your channel. Great job with the review. We are sailing Celebrity for the first time next year, and appreciate the input. Thanks for the detail you put into it, and happy sailing!
New subscriber, cruise enthusiast. I sailed on the Beyond in early Feb. in an aft Sky Suite. You are spot on in regards to the Retreat: expensive, yes but so well worth it with all the perks and extras. Recently booked a 10 day So. Caribbean trip also on the Beyond and also in a Sky Suite and am counting days already!
If you are a suite occupant, can you invite other guests from elsewhere on the ship to the Retreat? I can imagine that if I met people on the ship, I would want to show off my additional perks. If not, once you get through the secure access to the Retreat with your key card, how does Celebrity differentiate who should be there, and who shouldn’t?
Your perspective is appreciated. What mattered to you, and the detail you reported, tends to lean toward what I want to know. I've watched a dozen reviews on the Sky Suite, and yours simply nailed down what I need to know. We are booked for 12 nights on the Apex in one in just a few weeks in the British Aisles. I anxiously await the experience. It will be a first for us.
Now that I've concluded that cruise, I'm anxious for more. Booked a Sky Suite on Edge for next spring! I continue to appreciate your review as it helped with my decision.
We had Sky Suite AFT/ Corner on the original Edge during its 7th sailing. We loved it and have always booked Aft Sky Suite's on other cruises. We are scheduled on Beyond in March for our 50th on a 10 day S. Caribbean cruise. Our only concern is that when we booked the only Aft/Corner Sky Suite was on the 7th deck which is right above Eden.Hoping it is not too loud. The new Sky Suites look amazing on Apex & Beyond.
Thanks for the series of Celebrity Apex reviews. We are aboard now on the 14 day Translant. Watched all the videos (some several times) and you were on the mark with opinions and recommendations. Truly a marvelous experience ✨️ in many ways. Thanks again and looking forward to any new reviews you post.
The Solarium is an indoor, adult-only pool and is open to anyone. Thermal spa is only available to Aqua Suite guests. I think anyone can pay to access the thermal suite, but it is expensive.
Thanks again for another very informative review. Going on our first cruise ever in May aboard the Celebrity Edge and after viewing your equally informative review of the dining options, I think we are going to be spoilt on our first cruise. Thanks Chris for your time in putting together and making available these invaluable resources.
@@CruiseReport I am booked on the Edge in the Prime Concierge Infinite Veranda room for our first ever cruise (a 7-night Alaskan cruise leaving Seattle May 23, 2025), but am thinking of changing to Sky Suite (the only issue is it is $1,700 higher). I really want the Sky Suite for the larger room and the outside balcony if the weather would cooperate. This may sound strange, but can you tell me if you tip at every meal in Luminea or at the bar? I just wasn’t sure what the “standard” is for that.
@@Steinlage63 Gratuities are automatically be added to your stateroom account each day. So, no need to tip in the restaurants. Gratuities are added automatically on all drink purchases. So, you don't really need to carry cash on board, unless you want to tip extra. Celebrity adds $18/day/guest for gratuities in Infinite balconies, or $23/day/guest in a Sky Suite. Of course, you can go to guest services and have these gratuities removed or adjusted if you prefer to tip with cash.
Great review. My wife and I are going on the Beyond next year in a Sky suite . Really looking forward to the retreat . Do suite guests have to pay for the Specialty restaurants around the ship ?
I love your style of video and loved the S2 Sky Suite which I will get to experience on Beyond in January. Your video was very informative and I am now a subscriber. Thank you so much.
We sailed on the Apex the week prior to your cruise. Like you we enjoyed a Sky Suite. Through 16 cruises we have stayed in the lowest level enterior stateroom to a wonderful Aqua theatre Suite on Symphony of the Seas. The Sky Suite on Apex is our favorite room to date. We loved the bathroom space although it could have used a clothes line and some additional hooks like you mentioned. The extra cost is well worth it in our opinion. Cannot wait to sail on the Beyond next April.
I think you have the S2 Suite, which has the bed facing the water, which we LOVE. I believe that the S1 bed faces the opposite wall. Also, my question would be on the Balcony, in the S1 or S2 categories, can the Balcony fit both w chairs and 2 lounges, as the Aft S3 categories feature???? And do they even offer 2 chairs and at least 1 lounge if not 2, in the S1 and S2 categories,....or can you request them, or....are they only offered in the larger S3 Aft categories? Just wondering. EXCELLENT review!!!! Brian
Something to consider is that a guest sailing in a regular cabin that chooses to Upgrade to the Indulge package will spend another $60 a day to have the same included perks as a suite guest, minus Luminae and Retreat. For a 7 day cruise, that equates to $420 more or a price difference of less than $1000 from Concierge to Sky Suite.
I can understand why you might think that. But, remember that we spend 6 to 8 hours per day on the cruise taking photos, shooting video, taking copious notes. While paying guests are on shore excursions, or in the spa, or at the pool enjoying the facilities, we are working. Then, when we return home, we spend many hours compiling our information, shooting and editing together our videos.

Good point.
Great video we are scheduled for Jan 24 in a sky suite. Thxs for the advise and we subscribed
Thank you for doing this. We will doing our first Sky Suite in November aboard the X Equinox so this was very helpful.

Have now had a Sky Suite twice on the Apex. Best value out there IMO!

Vernon, have a great cruise and thanks for the kind words.
We will be in the Sky Suite this November on The Celebrity Beyond. We are so excited!
Was this an Aqua Sky Suite? I like the blue accents. Some of the Sky Suites have red accents in the decor.
No, just a Sky Suite. I am not sure they even had the Aqua Sky Suites when we were on.
What is the solarium and thermal spa included?
The Solarium is an indoor, adult-only pool and is open to anyone. Thermal spa is only available to Aqua Suite guests. I think anyone can pay to access the thermal suite, but it is expensive.
Question; if you bid on an upgrade and got it, are those amenities you mentioned, included?
Yes.

I forgot to mention the lack of a clothes line!
@@CruiseReport we really like the clothesline. Also our balcony door didn't have any wind noise.
@@thomasgreen1816 I figured the wind noise was probably unique to our suite.
Hi great video, Is there a way to find the sky suites that have the bed facing the balcony as yours did ?
That is a very good question. A travel agent may have access to that information.
I have asked TA,s and they do not have that info either.
Wonderful information. Thank you very much!

A Wonderful experience. I would book it again and again. We loved the additional space. We never felt on top of each other
Great video. Very informative. Thank you.

But the Sky Suite is 50% larger. Good point on amenities, but I enjoy the additional space as well.
Are the walls of the suites metallic that you can use magnetic hooks?
Yes. In fact, wall in most cruise ships are metal and can accommodate magnets.
Cruising APEN for Thanksgiving 2022 ! Good video 📹 👍
Agree
Lets say you wanted afternoon tea in your room? Would that be possible in your Sky Suite?
Absolutely. Your butler will arrange that for you. They also offer afternoon tea in the Retreat Lounge.
How much do you tip butler
You were paid for this commentary if the cruise was comped.
