Thanks Tom! We're on Silhouette's Transatlantic (just left Ponta Delgada). We're in Aquaclass but the Retreat certainly looks interesting! We're so happy to be on Celebrity and it's living up to our expectations!
You are most welcome, Steve! That's a dream of mine. I always wanted to cross the Atlantic on a cruise ship. Ponta Delgata is also on my to do. I am hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. I can't wait to hear all about it!
I have been on Celebrity equinox and Celebrity eclipse, in a celebrity suite, and it was amazing. Looking forward to going on one of the edge class ships next, especially since they have a hot tub and pool on the retreat sundeck. I couldn’t see in your video, but I am, curious to know, does the pool on the sundeck on the Apex have steps to get into the pool or just ladders? That’s not a dealbreaker for me, but it is easier since I have some knee issues to get in and out of a pool with steps. Thank you for your very thorough review.
Hi Tom. I've just enjoyed a relaxing 10m 20 watching this. You promised and delivered a great review👍what's not to like in this environment? The Retreat offers and gives a lot doesn't it, an opportunity to unwind and enjoy everything from excellent food in Luminae, plush bedroom suites, very comfortable sun decks and on top of this to be well looked after by nice crew. It looked quiet so i presume this was filmed when people were away on excursions. I guess it would be a lot busier on a sea day? Going forward what do you and your good wife do? is the Retreat going to be the norm or a treat to remember with fondness. Cheers for this Tom.
Hi Steve! Thank you for your warm words. This comment made my day. I filmed this in the morning during a popular port day. This was my best chance not to bother any of the guests. It was a very quite time. It get much more crowded on sea days. Going forward Retreat is going to be a treat for me. This is not something I can afford to do very often. It was truly an amazing experience. I am going to miss it very much! Especially Luminae. Cheers my Friend!
You are definitely enjoying the Suite Life Tom. Good for you. Beautiful area unlike what the masses see, and I bet the service is top notch as well. Is this less busy because of it being a port day? Maybe someday when I get my inheritance, I will give it a try. 😂
Hi Rick! Suite life is truly sweet. The service is outstanding. It was such a treat. I wish i could afford to cruise like this everytime. I am going to miss it very much. I filmed this in the morning during a popular port day. This was my best chance not to disturn any other guests. This place gets much more crowded on sea days. Still a lot of space but everyone enjoys this beautiful area. I really hope you get to experience it very soon. Cheers!
I am so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your kind words. What a small world. Cobra Kai is one of my favorite shows. Jon is a very talented guy. I loved Harold and Kumar as well.
What ever happened to the cruises, a few years back, where everyone was relatively in the same class of accommodations? Most everyone was kind and considered themselves as an equal. Now, there are several classes with their own dedicated pool area, dining accommodation, etc, for those snobby passengers who feel they deserve the price. Seems that the cruise lines are reverting to the Titanic era, and we all know where that ended. Full speed to oblivion cruise lines.
I'm not snobby or elite! Blue collar worker here, but yes i would like to enjoy this experience. More and more people are cruising these days of all classes not just middle class! Have you experienced the buffet on a sea day at the busiest times. It's carnage, it's uncomfortable and basically not a nice place to be. So yes if i save more, pay a lot more, but get a great experience all's good.
If I pay extra for slightly better accommodations, I never feel or act like it puts me above anyone. That said, some people do. That lower primate BS that makes people buy better cars or bigger houses than they can comfortably afford exists in many. For ME, the decision to pay more for luxury accommodations on a cruise depends on which type of cruise I may take. If I'm on a premium to luxury ship, what's the POINT? The gap between the "normal" experience, food, and service is barely noticeable. If, however, I was FORCED to take a budget cruise? Well....Different story. That said, I don't pay for suites because I work too hard to be caught dead on those floating water park messes. I simply sail on better quality lines and take whatever.
@@stevewilson6390this. My last cruise was on "Oasis of the Seas". That was my last budget cruise....ever. Over 17k for my family for 7 days and what did we get? 6500 people fighting for space in a 700 seat buffet that offered poor selection and stale food. Chair hogs, rude, aggressive behaviors that make ME want to go "agro". I come from a lower income background and educated myself out of poverty. I work too hard for a few days off to deal with the stress. And it isn't because I feel I'm better than someone else. It's because OTHERS can't behave in a civilized manner or comport themselves properly. Hell, I had a guy eyeballing me aggressively in the gym onboard. Like seriously? We have to fight HERE? Im becoming the "people on cruises suck" type in my older age.
Oh, and your "titanic" analogy is nonsense. The titanic sank because it struck an iceberg. NOT because it was loaded with one percenters. Now, if we COULD load a modern cruise ship with a few thousand billionaires, starting the Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, right on down the line... And then force it into an iceberg.... Well, I wouldn't be too distraught over that. It is immoral to horde resources at that level while the rest of the world, starves, dies of thirst and disease while they sit on a mountain of more unearned cash, food, water and medicine that they couldn't possibly consume in a million lifetimes. There. That's MY rant. 😃

Wonderful video! Love your Cobra Kai T shirt. Our son is one of the creators of Cobra Kai.

I’ll be in apex sky suite in June. Thanks for the tour!
You are most welcome. Sky suite is an amazing room. I did a whole video on it. I hope you enjoy your cruise. Cheers!
I’ll check it out now!
