Hi Mikey. CSC, Protech (sometimes Protech/ CSC) and other OEM capacitors often were low viscosity types and will slosh around when new. There is nothing wrong with them. As long as not leaking and they read in spec, they are good. There is no way to tell which heat transfer medium the manufacturer uses in the dual capacitor. They changed over time. Could be anything from polyurethane oil, silicone or petroleum based resin to greases or gels of either types. The fact Amrads are silent during the shake test just means they use a higher viscosity medium. (which seems to be the way to go these days.) Those caps (CSC, Protech) are cheap, useful and still available as new surplus. Order a couple and give them the shake test. Radwell lists Eaton as the manufacturer, but I'm not sure. I think Eaton may have bought them and then discontinued the line.
@@PipeDoctor Then see for yourself, please. Order new Protech or CSC caps. You'll be able to use them so it's not a waste of money. If we're not guessing, we're testing.
Man baby has much to learn. This trade takes seriousness when you are fresh. It takes years just to learn the refrigeration circuit let alone everything else we do. You must ask questions and be on point with your safety. Always think before you shoot
It would be interesting to see what a company like AmRad has to say about a "shake test". Could be oil has reduced viscosity due to oxidation, impurities, heat cycles... The function of the oil is to protect the metal foil and paper/film dielectric elements of the capacitor from moisture and oxidation and to some degree of better heat transfer. Ideally, they're not really supposed to dissipate energy, so they shouldn't be getting too warm under normal operating conditions. That's another test for you, is the capacitor warmer than it should be?
Keepin' it real! Love the fan wires hitting the blade, A bite in the ass when you gotta take it apart again. Any job worth doing is definitely worth doing twice! I'll bet you resecured that fan Mikey in the interest of time!!😅

Coleman makes some of the worst equipment I've ever seen. Not sure if you get to see it much there. You probably will in Florida though. They're standard in trailers and some manufactured homes. Even the equipment warranty is short. Lol

By the way, the gels don't completely fill the available space either. (Which is why I always like to mount them tabs up) They just don't move around.
you are a great father. no question. i salute you.
Love watching James learn
Hey Mikey…….what was the root cause of voltage issue at the disconnect? Thanks.
GREAT JOB, THANK YOU AND HAPPY HEALTHY...!
@@PipeDoctor have nice day, sir!

Yes, Amrad most likely uses a higher viscosity transfer medium.
Never shake
It more than twice! Lol
There is no such thing as a shake test to determine rather the run capacitor is good.
Agree
I have been making it a habit to add dielectric grease on disconnects because it does seem that some of them do get a little difficult to punch in.

Is it unethical to not remove the frame of a condenser when preforming a chemical cleaning? I'd enjoy your opinion on this one..
That man baby is gunna hurt himself ! Dude must be new to hand tools

James will be a great technician. Future pipe doctor in the making. Teach him everything you know Mikey Pipe 👍
I would like to go to KY Lake and go fishing. I do not want wind on lake.
When i first saw manbaby, i had a feeling he was your son mikey 😅he has alot too learn!
First mistake was the shoes lol
Geez…I get out of the hospital after 8 days and I see a new guy 😳😳😳. I got a lot to catch up on 🤷♂️
Man baby just get all the screws started then go back and tighten all 😁😁
What are the boots you are wearing
Shake it more than once your playing with it 😂
Wow ! ManBaby is GREEN !
Damn bro that poor screw, atleast it's not machine threaded
Poor dam thing didn't pass the shake test. Off ya go lol
2 words Mike. Magnetic bowls. Keep one or two of them in your toolbag.
Fat Tony must be from the group home when it comes to his mechanical experience with tools and maintenance.

Hope he works out better than baby Frankie
Mikey , give your helper money for a pair of work boots, let him pay you back on installments.
It's obvious that whomever you lost this customer to, wasn't that good, if they now called you to service it.
A roof full of condensers? all I see is dollar signs for every single one

Call a Uber for man baby. Lmfbo 😂
no thanks ...you can have ny
Only a 2x? Lol
Don't open them after shaking. Capacitor juice goes everywhere.
