  • Buy the Deity BP-TRX Timecode Kit - amzn.to/3Hc23cW
    Buy me a coffee - www.buymeacoff...
    I've had some bad luck with wireless microphone solutions. I've tried a Rode Wireless Go, but the battery is bad so it dies quickly. I've tried the Mirfak WE-10 Pro and had a not-so-positive experience. But this kit by Deity might just be the solution I've been waiting for. The timecode kit features two Deity BP-TRX's, two lavalier mics, two timecode/XLR wires, a 3.5mm connector, and all the wires for charging and updating firmware.

    HEY!!! I found out that the issue with the set was transmission power! I had the system set at 100mW and when I set it to 10mW instead, the buzzing went away.

      Have you had any problems with your set freezing while recording and transmitting? I have three pairs of these and all of them have done this to us on weddings. When they freeze it doesn't write the audio file, so not only does your wireless feed fail, but so does the backup internal recording... Deity has sent us one new pair, but haven't tested it yet. Before anyone asks, yes, we are on the latest firmware (1.5 at the time of this post).

      Wow! No. That hasn’t happened to me. I’ll keep my eye out for it though. I hope you get it figured out!

    I get the same buzzing on mine, unfortunately. We just do noise reduction in post and the baseline usually gets it.

    Deity makes such great stuff, great review, sounded great. I eyed one of these before the Pocket Wireless came out, but future me may still want one of these just for the internal recording, lol. Oh and what was your answer to the student about being famous on YT (curious...I would have said a crap ton of hard work and patience)?

      Thanks for the kind words! I almost bought a wireless go ii set instead of this, but for $100 more you get so much more with this.
      As far as the students question: you nailed it. My answer was a little more specific. I told him to upload quality videos consistently for 5 to 10 years and learn as he goes.

    Hey AJ did you ever figure out the interference?

    • @ajwilliamsmedia
      @ajwilliamsmedia  2 роки тому +5

      Yes sir! My transmission power was set too high. I moved it to 10mW instead of 100mW and the noise was gone.

      @@ajwilliamsmedia ? how does that make sense? so it will have that noise whenever it's at 100mW? Was your phone next to the transmitter?

    • @ajwilliamsmedia

      Under certain conditions 100mW will be the best use case. When transmitting through walls, extremely long distances etc. it’s usually best to also have a better set of receiving antennas to use that kind of set up though.
      Here’s a little bit of transmission engineering for you: When you transmit a signal over the air, that signal is received but part of the signal reflects back from the receiver to the transmitter. That can cause self interference. So either you have to turn down the power output of the signal being transmitted or receive the signal on a system with less reflection.

      @@ajwilliamsmedia I see what you're saying. But.... that makes it sound like 100mw is never useful. Along the same lines, I read it's possible it's cause the line was too close to the antenna. Keep us posted if that fixes it. It's unfortunate if so, because it would be very hard to avoid that cause they're so close.
      Thanks for sharing your experience. Not sure whether to go this, G4 512, or the new Sony now.

      It does have something to do with alignment with the lav wire, but moving the wires was always a kind of band-aid fix. Since changing to 10mW I haven’t had any issues and I still get incredible range. I should make another video to show how I’ve got it set up and redo some of those tests with the new settings.
      Good luck with your purchase! All of those systems are great. This one has the advantage of also being a time-control device and adding more transmitters in the future.

    Sounds Like You Had Radio Interference From If You Had A Cellphone On You At The Same Time.

    • @ajwilliamsmedia
      @ajwilliamsmedia  2 роки тому +1

      I tested that theory because I thought the same thing. The noise was still there when my cell phone was nowhere near it.
