I’m keeping my XS Max until Apple do upgrade worthy changes. My phone is still working fine, it’s fast and smooth. Battery and camera are good. All good.
I think it’s all a scam if we are being honest. Apple should make a new phone every 3-4 years. It’s insane how money hungry they are. I love Apple don’t get me wrong but these new phones are almost the same thing every year. I went from an XS to a 12 and I notice a difference but not a 200-300 dollar difference(trade in) If you had a 8 or below I would fs upgrade to the 12

It is more about the fact that the smartphone market has become more and more saturated. Many new features in the this year's iPhone lineup are not a breakthrough; all the features we need in our daily lives have been included in the previous models. Nowadays, getting a new phone is more about the status symbol.
@@BedouinSpirit - wow you’re lucky, earlier iOS 14 versions up to 14.1 ran without much issue for me on my iPhone XS. But once I “upgraded” to iOS 14.2 I’ve experienced non-responsive tap-to-wake, & random system crashes at least 4 times a day since. I hope Apple’s iOS 14.3 fixes this soon.

My iPhone XS is still fast in all situations... except when I’ve been using it for a few hours, then boom the screen become unresponsive & the damned thing reboots. Did you try rebooting it yourself for better performance?
Really? What till you see the pictures at night that the 11 pro max can take over the Xs. The 11 pro max is a steal if you find someone needing cash for their 12 purchase.
I’ve been using my Xs Max for almost 1.5 years and must say I’m loving this phone alot. Got almost convinced for going with the 12 Pro Max but after seeing the prices in India I didn’t find it worthy upgrade for my usage! Great comparison though 👌🏼
XS Max feels amazing to hold. It looks far better than the the 12. The round edges make it so nice to hold. I’ll definitely be keeping my Silver XS Max for a while.

I could’ve gotten the 12 Pro Max but didn’t wanna do an installation plan plus I wanted to just wanted to make a whole payment. Just got mines a few days ago(256GB $500) and I’m loving it! Sure the phone is 2 years old but it feels so brand new and refreshing to me coming from a 6S Plus I’ve had since release.

I bought a xs Max practically new. And I’m totally happy with it. The one and only reason why I’d upgrade is for the camera on the 12 pro max and that’s only due to the fact that I’m a photographer. But, there’s so many editing apps out there that I wouldn’t need to upgrade!
what I have noticed between upgrading from the xs max to the 11 pro max to the 12 pro max is that the screen overheating issue has been solved between these jumps. the screen no longer dims when using your phone. the 11 pro max had the best battery life by far. but the xs max was a good first step for a large full screen iphone.
I agree too. My Xs runs amazingly. I’ll upgrade when the notch gets significantly smaller or disappears. May have to replace the battery soon but that’s better than upgrading. 🤣🤣

Night mode on back and front with 4k60fps on all lenses including front, Dolby vision vs 1080p on front, no night mode and not even ultra wide sounds seems like a ton to me

I just upgraded from the 8 Plus to the Xs Max and it was the last new phone from Walmart 😇 Edit: my carrier is Verizon so I was able to get get this $800 phone for only $300 with no money down because Walmart was doing a promotion.
I upgraded from an xs to a 12 pro max and I love it. I have to say there weren`t too many upgrades, but I had huge wifi issues with the xs, so it was definitely worth it for me.
According to me, the XS Max is the most elegant and clear iPhone ever. That's why I'm upgrading from my iPhone 7 to an XS Max after three years. It comes tomorrow, can't wait!
I upgraded from the XS Max Silver to the 12 Pro Max Pacific Blue, exact phones in your video. My XS Max was beginning to give me a lot of problems, Blue is my favorite color, and the redesign made me want to upgrade. I usually upgrade between 2-3 years. I think I made a great decision, pictures come out noticeably better especially at night.
Upgraded from 11 Pro to 12 Pro Max, the raw speed increase is extremely noticeable, as well as ram management, can’t imagine how much faster the 12 Pro Max feels compared to the XS Max.
I recently upgraded from the XSMAX 256GB, Space Grey, to the IP12PMAX 256GB, Pacific Blue. I generally upgrade every two years anyway, work tool, personal toy as well. First of all, the XSMax was a great phone, absolutely no trouble with it at all. It served me well. Secondly, the IP12PMAX is no joke so far. I’ve enjoyed how it performs at work and as well at play, especially the cameras. Making it ‘most’ of the time through work without having to recharge it is very nice as well depending upon use of course (mostly 12 hour shifts). I have no regrets upgrading at all.
If you have 10S max and are struggling with cell reception/data speed, hell yes you should upgrade, speaking from experience x55 Qualcomm far superior to intel modem, it’s the only reason I upgraded Battery life is major upgrade 3D Touch is in every way better than Haptic Touch 12 pro max is easier to hold and feels more secure in the hand (I use Apple leather cases for both my Xs max and 12 pro max)
Continuous with my Silver 10s Max 256Gb. Very good capacity of storage, big screen and enough battery for the day. Everything still work very good and smooth. I will consider changing when the device is not doing my needs.
I gave up on my XS Max and upgraded to 12 Pro Max. Biggest difference is the cameras. If you don’t mind lack of night mode and additional clarity due to bigger sensors, XS MAX is still rock solid
You’ll never know how amazing the IPhone XS Max is until you use it daily without a phone case. I just bought mine yesterday and it feels perfect. I never put cases on my iPhones because it takes away the beauty and craftsmanship of the device.
I upgraded from the XS Max to the 12 Pro Max. I was getting so tired of the dropped calls. Pretty much daily. Also the camera is my most important feature so it was a no-brainer.
2nd day with my 12 pro max (obviously coming from XS max). Still learning the differences and new features but I love it so far. Everything is so snappy and quick to respond, the 5G is amazing too, very noticeable. Words cant describe how good the speakers sound, they sound incredible given their size and sound surprisingly full. The combination of the screen size, resolution, pixel density, OLED, true tone, and built in L/R stereo speakers makes watching videos/movies an enjoyable experience. I have a 60" 4K tv with 5.2 surround sound, but if I'm by myself, I honestly prefer watching on my phone. Initial impressions of the cameras: bear in mind I have not spent much time messing around/testing the cameras, but I have used them all multiple times and used to be a photographer (as if that matters, it's an iPhone haha). The rear camera (cameras?) doesn't seem like a huge improvement from the XS max, but come on the XS max camera was pretty freaking great and honestly it's more than enough for a phone camera, if it isnt, buy a DSLR. The front camera, however, is much better than the XS max's. This is saying something because the XS max also had a great front camera. I'd say the front camera on the 12 pro max is similar to the rear camera on the XS max. I have not done much research on the spec differences between the two models, maybe the differences I see are all in my head. Either way it doesn't matter to me because I love my new phone and that's what matters. If anyone is reading this and is on the fence...switch! If you feel like your XS max (or any model) is starting to wear out/slow down (which I REALLY did), I'm confident you'll love the upgrade just like I do, its a whole new world. Lastly, if you're reading this...drink water.
I brought my XS Max brand new 18 months ago and has 100% battery capacity. I use it for consuming content uninterrupted as all notifications turned off and the battery lasts a week. I also have the 12 Mini which I use as a phone. I love the screen on the XS Max and should last for years this way. I’m not interested in taking photos. I think the XS Max has the nicest design.👍

Another top notch video. I am using the xR, it came as a tool needed for my job and I think it is great. There are some fantastic features on the 12 ProMax however I would be tempted to wait for the iPhone 13 and see if it’s port-less etc. That will be pretty cool to see. I had a iPhone XS Max 64gb space grey and got a 12 pro max 128gb graphite a little under a month ago. Loved my car max since launch day. But can say the upgrades are noticeable and worth it for the battery life and cameras alone.
This is the video I was waiting for. I have a XS Max and almost got sucked in to the Apple hype for the 12 Pro Max. I think I'll wait for the next iteration, which hopefully has the 120Hz display and all of the minor incremental updates we expect from Apple. Thanks!
Trust me, when I say that you are not making a mistake. I have a xs max , 11 pro max , and just returned the 12 pro max. Why? Because it’s not that much better. And In my opinion it’s way too big! Like huge and I hated it. The screen gets a little bit brighter but no more than my 11 pro max. So wait for the 13

I’m late to the game. I recently just brought a refurbished iPhone XS Max 512gb practically new in great condition. Love it. It’s still an awesome phone.
I prefer the design of the XS Max with its rounded edges. And I had an iPhone 6 before, so it feels still more than fast enough. The camera is rather irrelevant for me, as I'm using dedicated cameras. So if nothing happens to it, I will probably keep the XS for some more years (the iPhone 6 lasted me for 5 years - still works, but the battery needs to be changed).
The iPhone XS series are still performance beasts. About the only thing I could see where it doesn’t match the iPhone 11/12 series is the “Night Mode.” There’s a reason why Apple quickly stopped production of the XS when the 11 series came out.

I decided to go from XS Max to 12 Pro Max, Not sure if the cost is worth it but I love the 12 Pro Max it runs very smoothly. My wife now has my XS Max She upgraded from an 8 Plus and loves the XS Max, I think this is mainly down to what you can afford.

I had a xs max and the phone started becoming unresponsive, just started showing it’s age, I would have to rap it to get it to respond or shut it off, I accident cracked my screen by tapping it too hard off my work table 😅 so I went and traded it for a iPhone 12 Pro, and I can honestly say, I doesn’t seem much different other than the physical appearance, and it runs smoother.
I loved my regular XS but I just traded it in with my 12 pro max. Honestly it’s not a huuuge upgrade. The camera was. But the XS camera wasn’t that bad to begin with. In fact it’s an amazing camera. But I do love the size of the max!
The XS Max can be purchased, online, for as low as $366 for 64g. If you’re looking for a great phone at a great price, the XS Max is a wonderful deal. I currently have the 11 and I’ll wait until the notch is made smaller or is gone. I’m tired about no changes to the front.
I have an XS Max, I really don't find a need to get the latest iPhone. Usually, I upgrade my phone every 6 months but it's been a year and a half since I got the XS Max. Very happy with it.
I love my XS Max, had it for almost 2 years now. I’ve been tempted with the newer models. However, they don’t offer anything of significance my current phone can’t do. Holding out for the 120hz iPhone then maybe I’ll consider. Also bought a used XS Max from eBay on bid recently at a great price for my s/o and she’s over the moon with it considering she’s upgraded from a iPhone 6.
@@x1aculite115 it’s to create a sharper and more clearer image, if you look closely you can see the difference between 1080 and 2160. Obviously it’s not a 4K display so you won’t get the full experience but it’s there to improve the overall image.
My life while using both phones: XS Max: Clubbing, partying, gym, going out to the movies, heading to the stadium for a football/soccer game, dating, etc. 12 Pro Max: Quarantine, gaming, home gym, Netflix, home office. I miss my old XS Max now lol.
Just upgraded from the 11 to the 12 pro, there was definitely nothing wrong with my 11, just wanted to see what the difference between the base iPhone vs the Pro and I’ve enjoyed the 12 pro so far, not much different but still worth the money
LOVE my XS Max! Just got it and for the value and $$, it’s perfect! I love 3D Touch and the vertical camera, which looks infinitely better in my opinion. I also prefer rounded sides and the fact that it still says “iPhone” on the back. I don’t care for the matte glass very much. So, as far as I’m concerned, the XS Max is the best iPhone to date. I’ll be keeping it until I HAVE to upgrade.
Great job as always Aaron in pointing out similarities/differences and also showing the real workings of each phone (cameras/processor speeds/etc). I'm going to stick with my ol' faithful iPhone XR for the next year or so. We'll see what the next round of updates brings.
Between the two, I think the Xs Max would suit someone in junior high who’s getting their first phone. But tbh I think the value of the entire 12 line is so good, literally everyone who doesn’t have an 11 Pro/Max should consider upgrading
@@BedouinSpirit a few reasons 1) bigger battery 2) they can save money by removing an extra layer of hardware 3) not third party apps didn’t use it 4) it wasn’t even that integrated into IOS by apple themselves

The XS series is very underrated. It’s as good as the 11’s and 12’s. Which is why Apple discontinued it.

Unlike Android, the iOS experience is the same, so no need upgrading my 256GB Xs. My battery health is at 99%.

I upgraded from an xs to a 12 pro max and I love it. I have to say there weren`t too many upgrades, but I had huge wifi issues with the xs, so it was definitely worth it for me.

I upgraded from the XS Max Silver to the 12 Pro Max Pacific Blue, exact phones in your video. My XS Max was beginning to give me a lot of problems, Blue is my favorite color, and the redesign made me want to upgrade. I usually upgrade between 2-3 years. I think I made a great decision, pictures come out noticeably better especially at night.

I just bought an iphone xs max 256gig for around 810 dollars. New,sealed not yet activated not refurbished. I chose it over iphone 11.
Upgraded from 11 Pro to 12 Pro Max, the raw speed increase is extremely noticeable, as well as ram management, can’t imagine how much faster the 12 Pro Max feels compared to the XS Max.

I recently upgraded from the XSMAX 256GB, Space Grey, to the IP12PMAX 256GB, Pacific Blue. I generally upgrade every two years anyway, work tool, personal toy as well. First of all, the XSMax was a great phone, absolutely no trouble with it at all. It served me well. Secondly, the IP12PMAX is no joke so far. I’ve enjoyed how it performs at work and as well at play, especially the cameras. Making it ‘most’ of the time through work without having to recharge it is very nice as well depending upon use of course (mostly 12 hour shifts). I have no regrets upgrading at all.
If you have 10S max and are struggling with cell reception/data speed, hell yes you should upgrade, speaking from experience x55 Qualcomm far superior to intel modem, it’s the only reason I upgraded

3D Touch is in every way better than Haptic Touch
12 pro max is easier to hold and feels more secure in the hand (I use Apple leather cases for both my Xs max and 12 pro max)

Very good capacity of storage, big screen and enough battery for the day.
Everything still work very good and smooth.
I will consider changing when the device is not doing my needs.
I gave up on my XS Max and upgraded to 12 Pro Max. Biggest difference is the cameras. If you don’t mind lack of night mode and additional clarity due to bigger sensors, XS MAX is still rock solid
You’ll never know how amazing the IPhone XS Max is until you use it daily without a phone case. I just bought mine yesterday and it feels perfect. I never put cases on my iPhones because it takes away the beauty and craftsmanship of the device.

Thinking of getting iPhone 13 Pro Max next year. Bought my XS Max in late 2018 and it still works like a charm.
2nd day with my 12 pro max (obviously coming from XS max). Still learning the differences and new features but I love it so far. Everything is so snappy and quick to respond, the 5G is amazing too, very noticeable. Words cant describe how good the speakers sound, they sound incredible given their size and sound surprisingly full. The combination of the screen size, resolution, pixel density, OLED, true tone, and built in L/R stereo speakers makes watching videos/movies an enjoyable experience. I have a 60" 4K tv with 5.2 surround sound, but if I'm by myself, I honestly prefer watching on my phone. Initial impressions of the cameras: bear in mind I have not spent much time messing around/testing the cameras, but I have used them all multiple times and used to be a photographer (as if that matters, it's an iPhone haha). The rear camera (cameras?) doesn't seem like a huge improvement from the XS max, but come on the XS max camera was pretty freaking great and honestly it's more than enough for a phone camera, if it isnt, buy a DSLR. The front camera, however, is much better than the XS max's. This is saying something because the XS max also had a great front camera. I'd say the front camera on the 12 pro max is similar to the rear camera on the XS max. I have not done much research on the spec differences between the two models, maybe the differences I see are all in my head. Either way it doesn't matter to me because I love my new phone and that's what matters. If anyone is reading this and is on the fence...switch! If you feel like your XS max (or any model) is starting to wear out/slow down (which I REALLY did), I'm confident you'll love the upgrade just like I do, its a whole new world. Lastly, if you're reading this...drink water.
I brought my XS Max brand new 18 months ago and has 100% battery capacity. I use it for consuming content uninterrupted as all notifications turned off and the battery lasts a week. I also have the 12 Mini which I use as a phone. I love the screen on the XS Max and should last for years this way. I’m not interested in taking photos. I think the XS Max has the nicest design.👍

Yes. Great phone. I bought mine brand new 2 years and 4 months ago. Still works fine! Battery health is 88% but since it’s such a big battery, it can still make it through the day easily 😊
I definitely had to watch this video, I went from the XS Max to the 12 Pro Max. My picture and videos come out looking amazing, even from my FrontFace. I’m happy I upgraded for the camera.
Another top notch video. I am using the xR, it came as a tool needed for my job and I think it is great. There are some fantastic features on the 12 ProMax however I would be tempted to wait for the iPhone 13 and see if it’s port-less etc. That will be pretty cool to see. I had a iPhone XS Max 64gb space grey and got a 12 pro max 128gb graphite a little under a month ago. Loved my car max since launch day. But can say the upgrades are noticeable and worth it for the battery life and cameras alone.
This is the video I was waiting for. I have a XS Max and almost got sucked in to the Apple hype for the 12 Pro Max. I think I'll wait for the next iteration, which hopefully has the 120Hz display and all of the minor incremental updates we expect from Apple. Thanks!
Trust me, when I say that you are not making a mistake. I have a xs max , 11 pro max , and just returned the 12 pro max. Why? Because it’s not that much better. And In my opinion it’s way too big! Like huge and I hated it. The screen gets a little bit brighter but no more than my 11 pro max. So wait for the 13

I’m late to the game. I recently just brought a refurbished iPhone XS Max 512gb practically new in great condition. Love it. It’s still an awesome phone.
I prefer the design of the XS Max with its rounded edges. And I had an iPhone 6 before, so it feels still more than fast enough. The camera is rather irrelevant for me, as I'm using dedicated cameras. So if nothing happens to it, I will probably keep the XS for some more years (the iPhone 6 lasted me for 5 years - still works, but the battery needs to be changed).
Most people upgrade for camera honestly I don’t care about phone camera I don’t take picture what I want is speed and good internet
The iPhone XS series are still performance beasts. About the only thing I could see where it doesn’t match the iPhone 11/12 series is the “Night Mode.” There’s a reason why Apple quickly stopped production of the XS when the 11 series came out.

I decided to go from XS Max to 12 Pro Max, Not sure if the cost is worth it but I love the 12 Pro Max it runs very smoothly. My wife now has my XS Max She upgraded from an 8 Plus and loves the XS Max, I think this is mainly down to what you can afford.

I had a xs max and the phone started becoming unresponsive, just started showing it’s age, I would have to rap it to get it to respond or shut it off, I accident cracked my screen by tapping it too hard off my work table 😅 so I went and traded it for a iPhone 12 Pro, and I can honestly say, I doesn’t seem much different other than the physical appearance, and it runs smoother.

I loved my regular XS but I just traded it in with my 12 pro max. Honestly it’s not a huuuge upgrade. The camera was. But the XS camera wasn’t that bad to begin with. In fact it’s an amazing camera. But I do love the size of the max!

The XS Max can be purchased, online, for as low as $366 for 64g. If you’re looking for a great phone at a great price, the XS Max is a wonderful deal. I currently have the 11 and I’ll wait until the notch is made smaller or is gone. I’m tired about no changes to the front.

I have an XS Max, I really don't find a need to get the latest iPhone. Usually, I upgrade my phone every 6 months but it's been a year and a half since I got the XS Max. Very happy with it.
I love my XS Max, had it for almost 2 years now. I’ve been tempted with the newer models. However, they don’t offer anything of significance my current phone can’t do. Holding out for the 120hz iPhone then maybe I’ll consider. Also bought a used XS Max from eBay on bid recently at a great price for my s/o and she’s over the moon with it considering she’s upgraded from a iPhone 6.

@@x1aculite115 it’s to create a sharper and more clearer image, if you look closely you can see the difference between 1080 and 2160. Obviously it’s not a 4K display so you won’t get the full experience but it’s there to improve the overall image.

XS Max: Clubbing, partying, gym, going out to the movies, heading to the stadium for a football/soccer game, dating, etc.
12 Pro Max: Quarantine, gaming, home gym, Netflix, home office.

Just upgraded from the 11 to the 12 pro, there was definitely nothing wrong with my 11, just wanted to see what the difference between the base iPhone vs the Pro and I’ve enjoyed the 12 pro so far, not much different but still worth the money
LOVE my XS Max! Just got it and for the value and $$, it’s perfect! I love 3D Touch and the vertical camera, which looks infinitely better in my opinion. I also prefer rounded sides and the fact that it still says “iPhone” on the back. I don’t care for the matte glass very much. So, as far as I’m concerned, the XS Max is the best iPhone to date. I’ll be keeping it until I HAVE to upgrade.
Not worth upgrading to the 12 pro max, I had a XR so I decided to get the 12 pro max and trust me there’s no difference really!

Great job as always Aaron in pointing out similarities/differences and also showing the real workings of each phone (cameras/processor speeds/etc). I'm going to stick with my ol' faithful iPhone XR for the next year or so. We'll see what the next round of updates brings.

2) they can save money by removing an extra layer of hardware
3) not third party apps didn’t use it
4) it wasn’t even that integrated into IOS by apple themselves
upgrade when you NEED to. Don't upgrade cause you want the NEWEST PHONE. if you get the newest cause you want it ur wasting ur money. My dad upgrade from iPhone 7 to iPhone 11 because their was a sound problem o the 7. i hope this tip helps

Had the XS Max and upgraded to the 12 Pro Max. Have buyers remorse. But at least my battery last longer.

Meanwhile, I noticed the weather info for Clover at the 10:00, 10:15 and 16:30 marks - the XS Max is one degree warmer than the 12 Pro Max. Seems they would be sourcing the same weather info? (They are earlier in the video).
I'm thinking of getting the Xs Max! I'm an android user trying to force a switch. I got an XR last year but I just couldn't deal with the irritating resolution. I think the Xs Max is the one for me.
