    Please bear with me the video is a little old, but this pattern has been so popular that I just had to edit and share anyway. Here is the written pattern: www.windingroadcrochet.com/woodland-hooded-scarf-crochet-pattern/ Important information like scarf size, yarn needed and the gauge are in the description box.

    Most importantly I absolutely love this! So please don't take this as bashing, I promise I don't mean it like that. I really wish you would consider making another video for it for the not so experienced crocheters. There's quite a few places where you don't specify to turn your work and also which side to start the hood on right or left , top or bottom and if your supposed to sew the hood together from the inside or the outside. For the inexperienced crocheter that may not know how to read a patern and is relying on the video to make the project, it could be really confusing. Again, thank you for the beautiful pattern, I love this and I mean no harm. If you redo this video please share it with me❤

    I’m hoping you still check for questions. This was such a fun project to make. I would like to make the scarf a little longer and the pockets bigger. I’m new at this and I’m not sure how to do that and still count stitches. I have learned counting is the key to straight edges after many failed projects. Thanks for any help you can offer.

    • @WindingRoadCrochet
      @WindingRoadCrochet  11 місяців тому

      You can add to the starting scarf length in multiples of 2. So you could add 10 extra chains or 20 extra chains when you working your starting chain. You want to make sure you work the same number of stitches for the pockets on each side. You will just need to make sure that when you start your hood, you are placing it in the center of the scarf.

      I would check your gauge. It is possible that if you crochet loosely, the 6.5 mm will be ok, but if your gauge is too small you will end up with a smaller scarf. So check your gauge and decide from there.

    Love the tutorial. What would happen if I used a thinner yarn with a smaller hook? Like what if I wanted a tighter scarf? How do I work out the counting?

      You would want check out this pattern. It uses a size 4 yarn and a smaller hook but it still the same stitch design. www.windingroadcrochet.com/hooded-crochet-scarf-with-pockets/

    Love this pattern and how you explain it, but is there a pattern if you don't want pockets?

      I would just omit the first and last 17 stitches or simply work the pattern as is and not sew the pockets. The scarf will just be a bit longer.

    Do you have an easy tutorial for a beret? I’m still a beginner so I’d love to make a matching scarf and beret set.

      Actually yes. ua-cam.com/video/44G3wh8VbXk/v-deo.html It is just a very basic beret.

    Can you use a medium 4 weight yarn for this project without hurting the way it fits?

      If you want to use a size 4 yarn then you will need to use two strands of yarn held together and then you can follow the pattern as is, but make sure to check you gauge.
