Hi everyone, as promised, here is my take on the « Scotch Whisky Regions » challenge by Jeff, from Jeff Whisky’s UA-cam channel (link below). First I will do it the « classic/official » way (5 regions only, according to SWA rules as defined in 2009, to put a long story short, even if I’ll also mention Diageo’s proposal in 1988 with their « Classic Malts of Scotland » range), then will suggest to you my alternative take on it, with 8 regions instead of 5, plus, for good measure & fun, a third & lighter one…a « French touch » take on the official 5 regions. Of course for all these regions (on the 2 first versions), we’re talking about Single-Malt Whisky, not other categories of Scotch whisky. Also, while nobody challenged me for that, I’m doing this video as I did promise to do it in the comment section of Jeff’s channel a while ago & then forgot...
Disclaimer : In order not to give away too much before you watch the video, bottles details will be available through their Whisky Base sheet, when they do exist (hence the number under the category) or one that is close to my bottle. That said, there might be a batch variation in the bottles linked to the one I’m talking about in the video as they are not all recent, nor necessarily all listed there.

I can understand why you have used Whiskybase numbers for reference, but am a bit confused with a couple: WB N°4481 does not bring up an Islay, so I think you may have meant 4181, and WB N°133578 comes up as Yoichi Woody & Vanillic, not a French whisky at all... (maybe 135578?). Good choices (and explanations) though!

Indeed there are 2 mistakes you've seen & not me, sorry : Instead of 4481 it is 4181, and instead of 133578, it is rather 209271...the problem of having 2 lists to copy & paste & mix things a bit too. Well spotted & I just corrected it in the description, thank you 😅👍
