Totally agree. I love looking and playing a stack of retail figures at the same time but customs and PO box goodies just hits harder.

It's always a good day when Robo uploads a video taking a look at toys. It's always one of the highlights of my day.

I really wanted to just cover up the ugly forearm cuts on Ka-Zar, and often my solutions are just using whatever is around. What I did was I took the forearm wrap pieces from the Rintrah wave Sleepwalker, trimmed off the little hangy-off bits from the sculpt, , trimmed some plastic out from inside to get a proper fit, some sanding, and repainted them brown with some lighter drybrushing. Ka-Zar looks a lot more complete now. I was looking for a necklace, I tried a spare one from Mezco Conan, but it felt like a bit much, maybe I could finagle something from off a Predator figure. Also, Robo strikes me as a cargo-shorts kinda guy.
Totally a cargo shorts kinda guy, I gotta have places to stash toys and bits and bobs.
I love watching your Play Day videos. It’s fun watching someone truly enjoying their figures and seeing the creativity in making them your own figures by painting, or part swapping, or adding to them from another figure or a custom piece from someone.
It's honestly my favorite part of the hobby. I like buying and getting new figures, but making them unique or better in my own eyes is where I have the most fun.
@@RoboDontKnow I fully understand that. I don’t swap around much on my Marvel Legends but I do part swaps and fixups on my wrestling figures. It’s always fun when I see a new figure and think “cool! When that one comes out I can get him and add the boots or accessories or whatever from that one a make it look cool.” I dabble in painting, but don’t enjoy that as much as the part swaps, I don’t have the patience for it lol.
That’s why I love this hobby customizing can be as simple or complex and you want it to be
That sums it up nicely. Whether it's head swaps or full on sculpts and paints, it's all customizing and fun.
Robonater looks like it's base is the Endo-cop from neca's RoboCop vs terminator line

FYI the base body is from NECA's Robocop vs. Terminator wave of figures and is based on a Robo-Terminator drone Murphy creates an army of to battle Terminators. One of the greatest crossover comics EVER!

Actually I find rainy days are the best days to play. Can't really go outside so you might as well hunker down with your toys and I M A G I N A T I O N
Oh, totally agree, painting or grinding while listening to the rain and the thunder, can't beat it. Not so great when you're trying to record a video about those things with a desk against an outer wall and the fear of the power going out at any moment, heh.

I just stuck the age of apocalypse morph head on my animated morph... I went out of my way to track one down at the collectibles shops in my town and had it on the body for exactly 10 minutes and put the regular head right back on!

I get by. I wish I had more time and get up and go to do it more, I usually end up doing it in fast bursts every few months and have to relearn half the techniques every time, haha.

A really fun episode. Also, I basically look quite a bit like you, so the Robo customs always amuse me in a "oh hey that's me when this beard goes gray" kind of way.
I am so with you on not being recognized if I shaved. I think that basically any time I've shaved while dating, the partner IMMEDIATELY hated it. Of course, could be that the kind of gals I find just tend to really like beards.

@@RoboDontKnow isn't that the always the way. You wait for a package for ages, only for it to arrive while you're on vacation. I haven't mowed my grass since the beginning of June. Hopefully this will kill off some bugs in the area.

Before I turned Kazar into TARR from BeastMaster I used the fur undys from Savage He Man to hang lower and hide the thigh cuts and look more BA imo

Why not use the morph head from that old “honorary X-men Deadpool”?
Put super glue on a very thin paintbrush brush it’ll harden and get those super tight lines on 1:12 heads. 🤙
Because that was Madcap, had a nose with fabric wrinkles underneath and no ears. Close but not what I was looking for.

Hey Robo, what would it take for you to shave and change your hat to go incognito? 😂
Be sure to get procreate for hair sculpts, the green stuff is rubbery when working with thin lairs of it, but if you get the gray procreate. You could always heat it up again to put details in the hair everytime you blow dry it 👍🏻 Apoxie doesn’t work so well for sculpting hair cause it gets hard like a rock 🪨
What paint do you use??
I use whatever is handy but I just got some Army Painter D&D paints that I'm REALLY liking. This is the set I got, is sold out at the moment but gives you an idea. amzn.to/4605GR5
