I spent this entire video assuming that game keys never actually existed, and that Peter just 3d printed some cartridge looking things and cartridge receivers, glued them to plug and plays and created a elaborate backstory about them like he did with the Hello Kitty GameCube. Me and my friends owned a lot of these plug and plays and I swear I don't remember the gamekey branding or cartridge slots, so it sounded like the perfect prank, especially since nobody is going to dig their 20 year old plug and play out of storage to check. Only this morning did I look into it again and realize they actually existed. You gaslit me without even trying to, congrats Pater.
Peter, your videos help me a whole bunch. Today, we got a tornado warning in our area in light of the Hurricane nearby, and out of instinct, I put on this video to help calm my nerves until the storm died out, it calmed me down a whole lot and I want to thank you. Continue what you’re doing patter.

It is so absurd that the expansions were limited to the specific units and didn't work universally. Makes it clear that the OG units had some or most of the data for those extra games on them already. I would love to see someone pull the data and compile it to see for sure how much of the extra games were on the units already
the expansions probably just reuse some audio and graphics from the main unit
Really if someone broke one open and took a look at its inner workings we could get some (very small) homebrew running on it! We might be able to make one that has enough storage that it works on all consoles, due to the audio and graphics being stored on the cartridge itself!
Or I’m just going crazy.
Peter is that kind of person whos just interesting you don't no why you have been watching for 8 years. But he just hooks you. It just feels like he lives in a different universe
The B Button on the Scooby Doo one just does the same thing A does. I assume it was for the unreleased GameKey games.

They're pretty rough 3D scans, but the way you incorporate them is really aesthetically pleasing. Your editing just keeps getting better and better.
I had a plug and play with Pac Man, Xevious, Mappy, and I think Pole Position? It had a game key slot. I had two versions, one wired and one wireless. I'm not sure which one had the slot or which didn't, or if both had it.
I was just re watching your Isabelle video with a friend, nice that you uploaded. Never had a plug in play the closest thing I have is a usb stick with games.

I had several of these as a kid as one of my few escapes from the weird cult my dad was creating. I had the princess one, the nickelodeon one, a spongebob one (i don’t remember if they were the same or what, but i remember it was spongebob’s face and the joystick was his nose), and some other non game key plug n play games like an atari flashback and a spiderman one.

Game keys honestly seem like something I would've loved as a kid. Little cartridge to get more thing just hits. Me and my brother had a pretty strict no buying license games though, so the only plug and plays we had were a namco one, and one that was an n64 controller that was a famiclone that they sold at a random kiosk at the mall
I'm ashamed to admit how much I laughed at the Squarespace joke at the end of the ad segment. Also, the Rocket Power hatred was so good to see! Never change.

I have the blue disney one, and i used to play the bowling game on it all the time. I had real consoles but something about an off brand bowling game speaks to me. I think i still have both gamekeys for it too. I also wondered if you could put the other gamekeys in the other consoles and if they would still work.
So I had a Game Key of my own for a Ms. PAC-MAN Plug n' Play that let you play Dig-Dug and I think Xevious. This was before I had discovered SEGA's lock on tech was a thing, so sticking code onto already tried and true packs of games within a controller was just mind blowing to me! So there's some lore for you, Patter.
Have we considered the possibility that Peter is not allowed to leave the basement?
Peenter was banished down there by Ray as punishment for trying to get him into "Profesional Testing school" against his will. The cat has assisted him in keeping the door closer, and Paltar has been locked in the basement since. Ray currently lives his greatest life as an [Average dog], going about Bingus activities without Pleater's supervision.
I let him out the basement for 20 minutes each day and a further 10 for fresh air! 😅

I remembered having the namco plug in play classic and me and my grandma abused the hell out of it where the joystick would completely stop working and the games that I loved the most was pacman pole pastion mappy xevious galaga and that SpongeBob one was pretty good too

Lmao, nice, you started off with the one that I had as a kid! (And the only plug and play I had as a kid, heh) Just immediately remembered how I would only play the Fairly Oddparents game on there, and sometimes the Spongebob game, but unfortunately, I never got any of the game keys, mainly since we never could find any of them XD

My first video games at like 4 or 5 with my older bro was super Mario world snes first, legend of Zelda, then need for speed II and metal gear and final fantasy 7on ps1 . Despite being poor, I didn't grow up with any sort of plug n play or kids laptop games. But my dad did splurge on all the Zelda games, so that's what we always played. What a strange world y'all grew up in
