The first videos that I watched on your channel were the "what is your style?" series. So many things you said and did were like I was watching myself. It was so weird. The one that sticks out is the saving clothing tags. I was like wow there are more people like me out there. I think the biggest problem I have is seeing so much art and seeing so many styles that it over loads my brain. I love taking art classes to get myself motivated, but in the end when I sit down and make something in my own way that is when I am truly proud of myself. What keeps me from doing that all the time is self doubt kicks in or my mental state decides to make a u-turn on me. I have only recently started to see myself as an artist. Maybe one day I will even make videos on my art. Thanks Gina for the great videos!!!!
My god. That quote stopped me in my tracks. His sobriety is my chronic pain management. Oof. Heart heavy. Thank you for sharing this journal and starting Find Your Style again.
YES!! I understand what you mean about expressing your own creativity and leaving evidence of your life. It will mean so much in the future that you have documented these memories. Thank you for sharing!
I am a huge fan. You have helped me get my art groove back! I am a busy working mom about your age. My biggest challenge is finding periods of time to just art. Time time time!
Can't wait for the new series and I like the idea of having homework. My problem is that I have many started journals and not too many finished journals. I got some of my old ones out and worked on them and closed each one with material from thrift store tied in a nice bow. They look more complete now too! You inspire me. Also I like your thoughts on scrapbooking vs unique artsy journals. Love your journals!
I recently watched that series a couple months ago and bought some of the books of which you were inspired. I LOVED it and still love it if I need to refer to it to kick my artistic butt. You even helped to halt a couple of craft spending binges and reminded me to use what I have because no matter the tools or papers, I MAKE IT ART! I am incredibly grateful. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Gina, your creativity is endless! I so love your enthusiasm and zest for life, it’s catching! I totally loved your first series on ‘Find your Style’ and can’t wait for the second series. I’m a true Gemini and perfection is my problem, so hints on “letting go” would be very helpful. I think we all have an ‘artist’ within ourselves, so being able to release it would be amazing. Thanks for you inspiration Gina, love, Dorle from Oz 😘😎🇦🇺🙃
Your style is very Smash Bookish. Love it! I’m currently obsessed w/Bible Journaling...I combine my scrapbook style, smashbook style & note-taking style. TFS. Can’t wait for the Series to start. Would love to hear where your project ideas originate: your stash, the seasons... Also, how you store some of your supplies.
First of all, my daughter heard your comment about stickers being for kids and yelled across the house, "...but grown-ups call them decals!" Secondly, I watched your original "Finding your Style" series just this past spring and it had such an impact - I feel freer to make mistakes, embrace imperfections, and be authentic in the creative process. I'm so excited about the new series!
Long time watcher, first time commenter 😊 I absolutely LOVED your series! It totally helped me to ENJOY the journey, and gave me permission to explore, or even ask myself “What is your style?” I’m still discovering and playing with different things in my journals. Your journey has inspired me in so many ways! From making journals to playing in them 😊. Maybe you can share how you “know” after playing and practicing what your style is, or even more of that process, if it’s an ongoing thing? Whatever you come up with will surely help! You’re an excellent teacher 😊
So excited for your new series. I will be watching. I have so much to say in response. I will just say in this past year I have finally begun to confess I am an artist. The first time I just said it out loud was to a co worker and her response was yes you are. Was a great awakening for me. So, yes glad you are doing this. Your inspiration has been a part of bringing me to that. Looking forward to it.
Veeeerrrryyy excited about the new video series! Your enthusiasm for creating is so contagious! I have such a hard time journaling in my books because I worry about what people will say if they read it in the future. I wouldn’t write anything bad but just feelings and then I think too much about it and say forget writing even though I would love to have thoughts in my journals. Some tips for getting over that would be great!
I’m looking forward to this upcoming series. I’m a newbie and have been experimenting to find my favorite type of journal. I’ve made all kinds of altered books, and journals from trash, but honestly I write a lot and need the journaling space more than I need the pretty book. I really want my journals to look cohesive and pulled together, so that is still important to me. I believe I’ve settled on composition notebooks. I’m drawn to your style and appreciate the time you spend sharing your energy and time.
I just found your channel this past weekend. I have binge watched almost all of them. You are amazing. You are so inspiring. You have helped me realize that my art is beautiful and I will be an artist some day. I am in a way already. Thank you for all of you and what you do! I see your video pop up at work and I can’t wait to get home and watch it.
I’m so excited for this. 😊 Something I struggle with is feeling dissatisfied with my end product. I’m happy as I do it but then look at it after the fact and feel letdown. I realize the joy is in the doing but I wish I felt a little more satisfaction at the end.
I'm so excited about this! Like I've said before, I LOVE, love, love your style & I feel so connected to what you said about the struggle of melding the scrapbooking/daily journaling/art journaling/junk journaling. I really think I need to try your monthly/squares/calendar style.......I love to document my days, but sometimes get bogged down with the day to day. I also am one who loves to save all the little tags, stickers & tidbits to stick in there that tell my story. Ok.....I'm rambling...........
You will rock in this series! I’m very happy that you have chosen to do this next. I have been inspired by you and have had so much pleasure watching your process from the beginning. It was only before Christmas that I started watching your channel. I started a ring binder album with Christmas cards and envelopes from 2017 series. Then I started a planner in a book I tried gutting , still a work in progress but ty ty ty for all the encouragement to just do it! TFS ❤️
Thank you for adding the link to your previous series...I will be starting there. I struggle with making decisions (it’s like going to the store to buy one thing but the choices are endless). There’s also that fear of copying someone else’s work. Therefore, I don’t have a clear idea of what my style is.
Hi Gina, lovely ideas and flip through ...you certainly fill up your journals and its great to see it all as I love flip throughs. 'Finding your Style' sounds very interesting and look forward to it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts etc. Enjoy your creative day! xoxTania
Love this!!!!! When I saw this type of planner, I immediately grabbed a composition book and started working on!!!!! I love it and others that see it love it too! My problem is....it's too neat! I cannot make myself go back and write over and doodle like you do!!!!!! I've drawn flowers and umbrellas, etc on the pages a head of time thinking that would help, but no!!!!!!!!!! What kind of therapy do I need?????? :-)
This is a great question!!! Being too neat is not a problem. Perhaps that's just YOUR style. I'm going to address this in Finding Your Style 2. xoxo- gina
I love your videos....Love your style of putting things down that mean something to YOU not for someone else to maybe enjoy in the future. Although, I do enjoy looking at your journals. I just want to make books that I can look back at that will bring back memories for me. It is so much more fun to make things that bring ME joy.
Just loved looking back through your journal! I love your creativity. You made So many beautiful pages. I look forward to your series. I looked through the comments and I have many of the same problems that others mentioned.
This was cool Thank you for sharing this❣️ You remind me a little of Nik the booksmith, just the way you talk and hand movements..looking forward to watching the series❣️
I love your process...I love learning peoples processes and hearing your mindset. I have such a hard time differentiating my WRITING and my ARTING...I haven't been able to combine the two very well. I have a series about journaling to a better self but it's more for writing. One thing I think would be beneficial for your series would be a list of things that people can save to put in their journals... Put a little bug in their brain about what to look for in their daily lives. Can't wait to see more!😍😍
I am so excited for your series. I love your journals. I guess what stops me from doodling is fear of not being good enough. I am a photographer, I have to face my fears of inadequacy in my photos too.
Gina, I have not seen your first series and I will definitely watch those first. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. You have inspired me more than you will ever know. I can’t draw or even doodle. That would be my first question. Where do I start?
Is that what it is...?? the struggle bus.. i knew that it was something !! i am on that struggle bus too ! love it! i really like what you have to say. My goal is less scrapbook materials and more of me onto those pages. not just me but writing and journaling. i find that difficult. And you encourage me to try..to change..to grow. thanks for your opinions.
My biggest struggle is...after I try different teachers/lessons I may like a couple parts of each style I learn. How can I combine/evolve various pieces in to my style? Love your channel!!
Enjoyed seeing your journaling! I am looking forward to this series on finding your style. Would you recommend that I watch the first series before I start this one coming up?
Hello! It is not necessary to watch the first series. In that series I walked you through MY journey and shared things that helped me find my style. Finding Your Style 2 will be very different. xoxo- gina

mllwyllw I use magazine clippings and quotes to express how I’m feeling with out using words.

Wow love it! I so love seeing used journals and it was great seeing how your style developed.

Sounds like fun Gina. I was just thinking yesterday that I call myself a designer, but do I dare call myself an artist : )
YES!!!

🙀 I’m freaking out
I have a problem with pages looking perfect, or color coordinated, and therefor I don't do much art, although it makes me sooo happy.
YES!!! This is a common problem. Hopefully, I can help you embrace your 'perfect, color-coordinated' style.

Yes!!!
