Thank you for this! I wanted to ask I see that the end going into the 1/4 jack on the synth is aux but is it usb plugged into the computer end or is it coming out the headphone jack on the computer?
Hi James - Thanks so much for your videos. A favor to ask. Would you be able to do a video demonstrating how Juno 106 patches/presets can be saved and ultimately restored? I just bought a 106 with many non-factory presets which I am desperate to save. (I need to replace the voice chips.) I'd be forever grateful for your help!!
I´m trying to load the factory patches but after do that, the load button doesn´t desactive it, and also patches don´t charge in. What could be the problem here? Is possible that replace the intern battery fix it? Thank you!
Mind you, the original backup battery has never been replaced..it's still the original. Answer me this then, I created(manual write) a new sound and saved it. After a few hours of being shutdown and powered back on, the sound was still intact. Why?
Hello, I followed the same patch reloading procedure, and they all came through except for one. I cross-checked them with the patch list available through the Edy Hinzen site and discovered the omission (click the Bank 1 button on the homepage for the list). I can't remember which patch was missing, and my Juno is in pieces right now for other repairs. I believe I used the .WAV files available on the Hinzen site. If you were successful loading all the patches, could you please mention where you acquired the files? Thank you.
James, thanks for the reply. The one that's missing on mine is Group A, Patch 82. On the Hinzen site the list of patches (when you click on the blue "1" button) says it's called "Resonance Funk," and is a "typical analog bass drum sound." Mine just sounds like a short laser gun, which I think is a default sound for a blank patch.
Hi james, i am trying to reload factory presets. When i play the tone into the load input, i never get the two dashes on the display, and the “load” button light remains illuminated. As a trouble shooting technique, i tried to make it give me the Error display as you did in the video, with no success. The battery was replaced about 4 years ago, but could that still be my issue?
Just soldered a new battery in place and loaded the patches back in place. And i must this was one of the coolest repair/restore jobs i've ever done 🙌
Please , where can i find this file - to restore factory patches? any idea where to download it? thanx

I think it’s headphone jack to headphone jack, he just used a 1/4adapter to plug it into the Juno

Just got a juno 106. Gonna dl patches but if my battery is dead does that mean it wont save sounds?
Yes, if the battery is dead the memory goes.
May be a dumb question haha but how do you save the patches after you have loaded them?

Is the battery really dead?

Hi, I downloaded the files from the Hinzen site. I don't think any of my patches are missing. I'll check when I get a chance.

You still got your old CPU board?
Cool video! Did you end up doing anything about the patch buttons that weren't working (@2:13) despite the 'new' CPU?
