    Love to see a video about tables, not very many of em on the platform. Maybe now we'll see less premature table breaks in the indies 😂

    Definitely aren’t a whole lot of pro wrestling channels covering the topic of tables so really appreciate this 🤘🏻🤘🏻

    Shoutout to my hometown Lexington Kentucky ! Thanks Mike ! The first crazy table break I saw was Randy Savage giving Ricky Morton a piledriver though one of those thick blue tables .

    I liked that. I had figured if you wanted to break the table via elbow drop or whatever you probably wouldn't gimmick it much, but if you're going to slam someone through it, gimmicking the table by taking the runners off is probably a good idea

    does the metal runner hurt i seen new jack go through a table and the runner hit his mouth

    If I don't weaken the table how do I make it breakable

    • @TilWeMakeIt
      @TilWeMakeIt  4 роки тому +2

      You create enough force to break it, and hit it directly in the center.

    • @xXZachrawXx
      @xXZachrawXx 5 місяців тому

      There are some more things to consider, like if the center is reinforced, you don't want that. And the method of breakage matters too. If you're going to dive onto your opponent, don't gimmick it or do a very minimal amount, if at all. If you're going to slam someone through one, cut those runners or remove them all together! Either way, make sure you have follow through, make sure you and the other guy are prepared to go full force, slam through that table

    If you can remember ECW was also famous for getting creative with the tables. Sometimes it was two or three tables stacked on top of each other. Other times (and my personal favorite) they would light the tables on fire and sprinkle thumbtacks on the and proceed to drive their opponents onto them.

    • @TilWeMakeIt
      @TilWeMakeIt  4 роки тому +3

      Yeah, ECW, and Sabu especially, delivered all of this to a new audience, and made it "cool" all over again.

    Ever since deciding to train I've been exited at the possibility of going through a table in the future. Thanks for the tips as I had no idea the size could make such a difference

    Good info but think it needs a part 2, like is there a safer way to bump through one, is there a good alternative to a table, if you don't weigh much but your asked to go through one how do you avoid becoming a "i am the table" statistic, that last one I think you did reply to someone about but I think it could do with more of an explanation,same with weapon based matches too. Also I read somewhere that UA-cam algorithm rewards 10min long videos, unsure what you average time wise but that might help if you don't already know.

    I don’t know if you did one already but could you cover bumps

      Hi Prabjeet! Demonstrating in-ring mechanics is outside what I do on this channel, but you might find this video to be helpful: ua-cam.com/video/sTvVzxP7H3U/v-deo.html

    When you are saying don’t do things to weaken the table in advance you mean at all right? So when someone goes through the table they are going through it as it was bought from the store? (Except for some regular wear and tear depending on the age of the table)

    Love this Mike! As a student of the game, while I yearn the knowledge of wrestling psychology and the different mechanics, I still want to know the safety and "how-to" of weapon spots. Much rather know and never do one, than do one clueless. This brings me to a question. Can you do one on chair and ladder etiquette, or just the safety and "how-to" of different foreign objects? Again, much rather know and never do it, than do it and be clueless and risk injury. Thank you so much!

      @TilWeMakeIt  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Noah - this is the 3rd request in the last day or so to talk about chairs specifically, so I suppose I'll give that some thought. Unless I think it's going to be a 90 second video, I'll try to get one together.

    LMBO at airplane and the botch! I really appreciate you outlining these important helpful facts! Can you make one on how wrestlers expel the mist out of their mouths like Asuka does? Oh, and thank you for mentioning the ICW! My father used to bring them here a lot back then!

    • @TilWeMakeIt
      @TilWeMakeIt  4 роки тому +2

      Woah. Did your father work with Angelo Poffo directly?

    • @delmerjunior
      @delmerjunior 4 роки тому +1

      He was the secretary of our local fire Department. He would bring in the ICW as a fund raiser. Yes, he was in direct contact with Angelo in those days. That was the era when Savage was there, and Ox Baker, Ronnie Garvin, Leapin' Lanny (Poffo).

    I hate when ppl say how fake pro wrestling is. 😠😠😠
    True. The out come is pre determined.
    Technically the moves are not fake but not Actually being applied fully.
    BUT THESE MEN AND WOMEN ARE AMAZING ENTERTAINERS, ACTORS AND MOST OF ALL ATHLETES.
    TAKING SAVAGE BUMPS ON A SURFACE OF PLYWOOD, A THIN MAT COVERED BY TIGHT CANVAS. ITS TRUE. THE RING DOES HAVE SOME SHOCK ABSORBER LIKE CAPABILITIES. BUT IN NO WAY IS IT A FEATHER BED.
    TO TOP IT ALL OFF THE ROPES THAT THEY'RE BOUNCING OFF ALL DAY LONG OR NOTHING MORE THAN SUPER SUPER TIGHTLY WOND STEEL CABLE WRAPPED WITH PLASTIC.
    Seriously.
    These pro wrestlers are truly very UNIQUE AND SLIGHTLY OFF CENTER TO DO WHAT THEY DO.
    SO THE NEXT TIME ANYONE CALLS IT" FAKE " AND " ITS NOT A SPORT"!!
    Shut ur trap and try it out for 1 week.
    THE LIVE AN ARGUOUS LIFE STYLE.
    TRAVELING ALOT WITH LIL REST IN-BETWEEN GIGS.
    I challenge any person who talks smack about pro wrestling. To live the life for 1 or 2 weeks.

    Why isn’t the use of tables and other weapons covered in pro wrestling training facilities?

    • @TilWeMakeIt
      @TilWeMakeIt  4 роки тому +2

      That's a great question, Chris. I think because they sort of "fall outside" of what makes up a typical curriculum. And there remains a certain "outlaw" stigma to their use, even today. If a wrestling school wants to be reputable, they don't want to flirt with topics that feel "outlaw," and yet, the information in simple tutorials like this one are quite useful.
