I think it's very difficult to find maternity wear if your style is not very feminine or girly. Leggings, biker shorts, oversized shirts and sweaters, men's sweatpants and shirts are all great. Just men's clothing in general. A lot of maternity wear is ruched, frilly, flowery, polka dotted, flowy, with lots of dresses, and while that's really pretty on many people, it's not everyone's jam. I really feel like your video is great for people with any style, and it's really helpful! Also, awesome quality as always!!
I found your Channel 3 years ago because of a pregnancy clothing hacks Video and i just realized i might have unterestimated the effect watching your Channel for 3 years now has on me... i am wearing bangs, Gold framed glasses, the same blundstones you're wearing... i am even pregnant with my second child and exactly one week behind you 😂
I have thrifted all my clothes for pregnancy and redid my entire wardrobe for less than 50 dollars. Your trick for buying 1-2 sizes bigger is life saver!
My tip: if you’re a first time mom, don’t worry about maternity clothes until you really need them! I’m almost 24 weeks and I’ve just now started wearing maternity shorts. I can still fit some of my regular jeans and shorts with the hairband button trick or a belly band and will probably be able to for several more weeks. Look out for sales and don’t rush to buy anything you might not end up needing- it’s so warm now that my expensive maternity jeans will rarely be worn!
@@cactusrose6646 if we have another! I definitely want more kids but we were always planning to adopt :) otherwise I will pass them on to someone who needs them.
With my 1st I desperately held on to my normal clothes, probably longer than I should have. I was 6 months pregnant when my husband surprised me with a pair of full belly maternity slacks for work. They were HEAVEN. Kid 3? Maternity pants the second my test was positive. Those suckers are comfy. LOL
I wore regular clothes my entire pregnancy. I sized up. I invested in a few true maternity pieces-- mostly thrifted or clearance finds with the only thing I paid full price for being quality maternity leggings. I sold the maternity items that I can't wear postpartum (like maternity jeans) for the price I paid and everything else I can still wear postpartum. I'm 6 months postpartum and I wear all of my maternity dresses still and you can't tell they are maternity. I still wear my maternity leggings as well. They are my favorite and I prefer them over my regular leggings lol
One thing I discovered to help save money: buy nursing clothing. Most nursing clothing is also maternity friendly, I have several nursing dresses that are very cute and also fit great over a bump. ❤
I actually invested in one pair of good maternity jeans in my first pregnancy (even though I was broke) and those jeans I've worn twice and lent out once and they are still good to go for a fourth pregnancy. Make sure that the material is good and thickish though when buying so it will last a long time.
Great tips! My sister bought some really nice maternity leggings/jeans for herself and then gave them to me when she was done. All together, those pants have lasted 4 pregnancies and are still going strong. We saved so money by both sharing and buying nicer items.
Not pregnant, but love to watch your tips! Watching this video, I'd love to see a wardrobe update at some point? Maternity/regular. I think it would be a great video!!
I got my maternity leggings from Kohls and they have lasted me 2 pregnancies in they are still in amazing shape I'm 11 weeks pregnant again and about to start wearing them again 🙂 it is hard to find good quality at a good price maternity leggings
Get a good pair of dungarees/overalls. This way, you can wear all your tshirts/ tops/ sweaters, and it doesn’t matter if they get too short or ill-fitting at the bottom!
i'm not pregnant, but I regularly use the hair tie hack for my IBS/IBD bloating. On bad days I'll have a bloated stomach that compares to a 3-4 months pregnant bump, so this really helps!
My first pregnancy was with twins and I was about 100 pounds before-hand, so I gained a ton of weight. I lived in flowy sun dresses when going out and when at home I just bought a pack of Haines XXL mens tee-shirts and some basketball shorts. It wasn't super flattering, but it worked.🤷🏻♀️
You can totally do the hair tie hack with high waisted jeans too. My belly is funny right now at 25 weeks and my high waisted jeans fit great except I needed a bit more room at the top and a hair tie does the trick!
I love these videos for tips on how to feel good about yourself and style the bump. I really liked the old video. But I do disagree with wearing pregnancy clothes BECAUSE the bump stretched out some of my favorite shirts. I learned that from my first pregnancy and it made me feel self conscious postpartum.
Love this! I invested in some maternity tees during my first pregnancy and am happy to be able to reuse them but this pregnancy I’m sticking with tshirt dresses, empire style dresses, and high waisted skirts one size up, that I can wear afterwards. Great advice!
So I think your original maternity hacks video is how I found your channel, but I’ve been following since you had Theo.❤️ I love your style and look forward to your videos seeing a peek into your lives!
13.5 weeks along with my first, and my go-to pair of jeans is maybe a week away from being untenable. I've got friends asking about a registry and giving opinions on different pumps and nursing bras etc. So much to plan and research, but right now "how to dress the bump" is the one question about life with Baby that feels fun and not super intimidating. 😅 Thanks for the helpful tips!
I love this. Going into my third pregnancy and I would only add that any clothes you stretch out while pregnant might not be redeemable afterwards but are nice for postpartum
That was my first ever maternity video I ever watch. Then over the years found your channel again. Now your my are my favourite UA-camr mummy alongside your lovely friend Victoria and a Canadian living in British UA-camr Emily Norris.
This is awesome!! I’m newly pregnant with our second child and I just ordered a TON of summer clothes prior to finding out I’m pregnant and I’m so sad 😭😭💖 this helped a ton and brought me a little more happiness!!
Super low rise is my favorite thing for pregnancy. I hate over the bump so it works for me to just go ahead and wear and buy pre pregnancy size jeans/leggings etc
I just have one warning for people wearing their regular clothes during pregnancy. If you really love a favorite top and want to have it for many years, don’t wear it too far along or you’ll stretch it out and it won’t look the same pregnancy. So in that case sometimes it’s better just to get new maternity clothes or thrift things.
I've done all of these in previous pregnancies except the biker short jaja. My bellies where pretty small so I didn't struggle much for clothing, I also bought oversized pjs and still use em today.
My issue is I need clothes appropriate for work. I have tried to get away with non maternity clothes but nothing fits like it used to. I gained 26 pounds in 26 weeks and a lot of it was went to my love handles. But I looove your style! I will be taking some of these tips for when I’m at home or weekends!
I went to the thrift store/charity shop to ask about maternity clothing and the lady helping me said the same thing about maternity wear - she said it was a bit of a con and to just buy a few sizes up 👍
I shopped in my mothers closet! She is 2 sizes larger than me and has a lot of empire waist stretchy dresses. I bought some t-shirts and leggings but otherwise I lived in her dresses.
So helpful! Just hit 20 weeks and beginning to show, plus hitting the beginning of summer and was feeling discouraged about not being able to wear any of my cute summer clothes 😭❤️
My son was born in February so my biggest stage of pregnancy was in winter. I basically lived in my husbands sweat pants t shirts and sweatshirts the last several weeks😂
I wish I would've seen your video in my first trimester because I've done the same mistakes - bought three new pairs or maternity pants because all of my old pants were too tight really fast but now two months later they don't fit in the nicest way either and they really restrain the way I can sit and move around because they're just THAT uncomfortable - I also switched to buying more skirts and flattering uni colored dresses because I can wear SO MANY different accessoires and shoes together with those and technically wear the same dress throughout the whole week and each time it has a different wibe and look
I invested in 3-4 Bella bands and that got me through my pregnancy along with keeping my regular jeans. I think I purchased one maternity pair of jeans.
Okay, now I am ready to go maternity shopping tomorrow! My belly just exploded the last two weeks and nothing fits anymore. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Delilah! 💛
Can’t wait to have my first, already having baby fever. Shopping partners closet just isn’t an option for me, though. He’s a good few inches shorter/smaller than me 😆 (also, you look glowing!)
I wish I knew these hacks back when I was pregnant the first time. Second time I still had few items. But I made out with the items I had before. This time.min will use most of her tips. 😂 saving to new playlist Maternity. First vid in list.
I love the merch!!! Got a sweatshirt, T-shirt, and onesie of the sunflower choose joy so me daddy and soon to be baby can match!!! So soft and were so happy! Thank you ❤️
I chose to thrift my maternity clothing 1 to 2 sizes up because I couldn't afford the good quality basic pieces and I wanted it to still be sustainable. I mainly just bought long dresses.
These are great ideas. But I would say one thing, if you plan on having several kids (2+) I would highly recommend getting some key maternity pieces and good quality ones too, that will last all of your pregnancies. Especially pants (like Delilah said👍🏻) it makes a world of difference when you are wearing something ment to fit a bump. I don't know about others but for me personally, I really did not feel comfortable in clothes that were huge every where just so they could fit the bump(I'm a small person so I can get easly drowned out by my cloths) any way just my 2 cents. Still a great video full of awesome ideas that I will definitely keep in mind for my next baby🥰
Hi Delilah! I so enjoyed this video! I am also a married young, young mama, and I am wondering how you have found your personal style? I know my design style for my house well, but I feel like clothes/overall style has been something I’ve struggled to find or feel good in. I end up resorting to sloppy clothes and feel sloppy all the time 🤭🙄 have you done a video like this, or could you?! Thanks!
My daughter was born in august, it was so easy to dress the bump. Summerdresses, regular elastic pants… My second will be born in November, so I will need some more real maternity clothes. Mostly jeans and some Tops. I don’t like wearing my regular clothing In pregnancy, my favorite jeans stretched out so much that I can’t wear it anymore (well, now it fits again 😅)
I wear a super comfy gater belt with very warm plus size (Because they're more comfortable) over-knee socks to keep my legs warm in pregnancy instead of having to mess with leggings - My stomach never fits inside anything maternity wise unless it is 3-4 sizes too big for the rest of my body. Just another option if anyone needs it. :3
I’ve only looked for maternity clothes once (I’m only 12 weeks) and I was at Walmart and it made me so angry because they only had like 3 options in pants and maternity shirts are regular shirts that say “baby on board” or whatever. It was ridiculously aggravating. Not to mention everything was ugly/ huge. Even the “small” was way too large.
Im only 5 weeks pregnant and everything still can happen not like I want it to, but for now I’m so exited for the babybumb to come! I hope so much that everything will go well🙈
For me it's really different to dress in pregnency depending on the season fiat you're the biggest 🤗 in summer it was dresses nad strechy skirts for me, but when i was big all winter i needed a lot more. For me it was a great purchase to buy a pregnancy coat that you also can baby-wear in. And the hair- tie for me was great for early on, when my pants started to be unconfortable but there is no way i would wear the same pants all my pregnancy. But I didnt need to buy pregnancy pants right away that would not fit me in my 3rd timester.
I feel like is so hard to get low rise jeans these days. I think I am going to be 💯 fine for weekend etc clothes (cause I tend to just wear loose, long dresses anyhow). But for work I have to wear long pants (and no leggings), so defs have started by just buying pants a size up, but think going to have to invest in some (hopefully not awful) maternity work pants when the time comes, also hoping to lean into more jumpsuits but have found it tricky to find ones that are loose rather than form-fitting (but still work-appropriate)
there isnt much in thrift stores near me for maternity clothes (i'm talking maybe 2-5 pieces, in a tiny size or very large size), most people sell them online for 5-10$ less than what they paid for them new, so no savings there. i wear rather loose clothing, so i'm going to try to stretch my closet. one thing i totally forgot about is underwear, oh boy, they are already the first thing that isn't fitting right
hey delilah :) i was thinking about doing an experimental art piece of you and theo, as my amateur artist's eye spotted an adorable screenshot in your merch promo video, but i realised you haven't said anything (to my memory) about if you're comfortable with this. of course, i wouldn't share it anywhere, i just want to be respectful of your boundaries, particularly with your little ones. just wondering if that's alright, or you'd rather i didn't. i completely and utterly understand if you're not happy with that. thanks!
Love your videos/channel! Sending positive vibes and prayers as you get closer to having your little one. Can I ask what size you wear in the Storq leggings?? I'm guessing we are the same size and I'm looking into investing in a pair.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who loves maternity clothes 😂. Some maternity dresses work really well when not pregnant. So I guess my tip would be check out maternity dresses at your favorite stores, because some of them really may work afterwards too. Sometimes they just have a little extra room in the belly area that isn't noticable when you aren't pregnant. I'm 11 months post partum and still wear some of my maternity dresses and I wore some maternity sweaters over the winter.
I'm not even pregnant, but I will watch any video Delilah ever posts ❤
Same❤
Me neither. But praying soon we will be blessed
Saaame 😂
Same! I am only 12 but I absolutely love all her videos.

Also, awesome quality as always!!
Biker shorts and over sized hoodies/crew necks are everything, I know that I would still wear them after baby comes woohoo
Check out plus size sections
Why would you need maternity clothes in that style if you can just use men's clothes?
I found your Channel 3 years ago because of a pregnancy clothing hacks Video and i just realized i might have unterestimated the effect watching your Channel for 3 years now has on me... i am wearing bangs, Gold framed glasses, the same blundstones you're wearing... i am even pregnant with my second child and exactly one week behind you 😂

That video was how I found your channel 3 years ago! Excited for a remake as we prepare to have a second baby.
My friend and I have a joint maternity wardrobe. We both add to it each pregnancy and thankfully we have never both needed it at the same time ☺️
Great tips!

Oh how I needed this!!! Thank you! 27 weeks with my second and I’m running out of clothes constantly with the growing bump. Hope you are all well💗
I'm also 27 weeks and feel the same!
This video was super helpful, I just hit my 2nd trimester and have been dreading going outside as most of my clothes aren’t fitting anymore. Tysm!

So happy I came across your merch! It's totally my style and so simple and beautiful. Just ordered a piece. 😍❤
I love my Delilah videos! Not pregnant but still watched all the way through. The first video is what brought me to your channel!
Could you do a video like this for post partum clothing hacks? For summer/winter? This was so helpful! On baby #2 but different seasons 🙈
Just bought some clothes from Blanqi! I made sure on the survey to put I got them from your UA-cam! Thank you!
Buying clothing 2x sizes bigger then just doing your own ruching worked for me.

The original video was the first one of yours that I watched!! I loved it :)
me, 20, with no boyfriend or anything watching a video about maternity clothes: 😇😇😇
Hey Delilah, I just wanted to say that you are great! Sending love from Italy xx
😊😊 thank you thank you!
Can’t wait to have my first, already having baby fever. Shopping partners closet just isn’t an option for me, though. He’s a good few inches shorter/smaller than me 😆 (also, you look glowing!)

Love this! I was totally feeling like I couldn’t wear anything in my closet.

hey delilah :) i was thinking about doing an experimental art piece of you and theo, as my amateur artist's eye spotted an adorable screenshot in your merch promo video, but i realised you haven't said anything (to my memory) about if you're comfortable with this. of course, i wouldn't share it anywhere, i just want to be respectful of your boundaries, particularly with your little ones. just wondering if that's alright, or you'd rather i didn't. i completely and utterly understand if you're not happy with that.
To be fair, though, this might only work for me because I have a long torso, so I appreciate the extra length
Corona-Edition: Buy three bump leggins. Youre Done. xD
This is exactly what I needed right now!!!
Can you make a video of what you actually used and what you thought you needed things for baby ?
