He only wanted to become a Doctor so he could treat people in his hometown but because He was 7'2, a Basketball coach got interested in him and invited him to try out. Then he used his earnings to build community hospitals along with the help of the NBA and that's why the NBA is so proud of him. I look up to him as my inspiration by being a nice, gentle and smart Man. Thank you Mr. Dikembe Mutombo aka "Mt. Mutombo" #55.

Dikembe’s voice is the quintessential mix of African swag and Louis Armstrong. My man was such a great ambassador for basketball and for how to be a human being.

NBA's first & only global ambassador. Indeed a true champion in the hearts of many. Thank you for helping raise the bar !!!
This is an African legend who made it in NBA guy's. So humble and always out helping communities. In our country where he's from we asking him to consider running for presidency office. Great stuff dikember's as we call you back home big man.

Real African voice much respect Dikembe mutombo
Proof that an appreciation for the defensive end of the floor isn't dead among those who really love basketball. I met Mr. Mutombo years ago, decades really, and he was a kind man, the entire reservation came out because no NBA player had every visited us before. He did a short basketball camp for the kids and it is something I'll never forget. Really nice guy.
