Back in the '80s this was a hotel where people could rent a room by the week. I had a friend who was staying there. Omg that burger is sick! I would've went online to check out the restaurants and bars around there. Anyways I checked out your vid for a blast from the past. They didn't do a bad job fixing the place up, but I prefer the past. It used to just be a cool old hotel with no pretensions. Anyways thanks for the video.
Stayed here and filmed Day 1 of the beach opening after COVID. Great value here other than they forcing you to use ice since the mini bar is room temp. Did you mention that there is TWO pools stacked?
I had to subscribe after this vid. Do you think it is best to stay downtown in a hotel with a good balcony view? What hotel do you recommend that's good with a good balcony?

Im staying here from May 13th to the 17th and I have a feeling this is how my trip will be after checking the weather app. It's supposed to rain every day I am there.
That's the problem with Miami weather - it can kill a vacation Quicker than COVID. For guaranteed sun, San Diego is the choice.

One of the best JW Marriotts in the world though is jw Marriott phú Quoc. Go there once you have the chance. Compared to this property everything would look bad 🤣 we love the jw Marriott phú Quốc and stayed at turquoise suite. There loyalty pays off. Let's hope cancún is not stingy to us with upgrades 🙏😝
I would think, due to low occupancy rates, at minimum, you’ll be upgraded to the same JW Marriott Cancun room I was - The Junior Suite. Depending on which floors are open, you could get something much better than that. Also, if you are flexible on check-in time and able to wait until 3:00 - 5:00 PM, tell the staff that, which greatly increases your chances of getting a better room.
As soon as restrictions lift, I am heading to Asia to film some awesome content. I’m thinking Bali, Phuket, Manila, and Vietnam.
@@Coolist great so hopefully we get junior suite all though carribbean sweet looks nicer 😄 we check in late unfortunately around 7 pm. But I will write the hotel via Marriott app 2 days before arrival. Apperently I can't attach suite night awards for my stay for whatever reason

I have actually have been thier. Bottom line is this. You can spend 140.00 here or spend 300.00 at the Loews or Fontainbleau???? It's up to you but after 5 nights that's a huge difference
Totally. I think the Royal Palm is one of the best value hotels in south beach. My issue is that Marriott is marketing this hotel as a luxury property, and it just isn't. Luxury hotels are my area focus, and I was judging this hotel through the lens of luxury, hence my disappointment.
That hotel reminds me of a 100.00 hotel I grabbed in Sunny isles. It had a big pool on the ocean and that was it. As for the guest around me???? Please!!!!!

Miami hotel prices are astronomical at the moment, especially for the South Beach area. I've seen the Palms priced as high as $560/night. For that price, you could book a much better Brickell hotel for nearly half the price, such as the W or JW Marriott Marquis.

Terrible hotel dude. Made same mistake as you. Also got same weather when I went.
It was so bad... I contemplated producing the video but ultimately decided to do it with the hopes of saving future people from the misery of staying there.
Also, Marriott is partially to blame for the awful experience as they are blatantly misrepresenting this property as a Category 6 property. If Marriott more accurately rated this hotel, such as a 3 or 4, my expectations would've been better managed.
