Ocean Rowing Boat Tour | Rowing 8000 Miles Across The Pacific Ocean | The Great Pacific Escapade

Take a tour round our wonderful ocean rowing boat Velocity! In Spring 2025 we are undertaking ‘The Great Pacific Escapade’, a journey that will see us row 8000 miles across the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Australia. Velocity will be our home for up to 6 months (but hopefully less!).

Can you provide a little more information on your solar panels? I am trying to assist Adventure Aaron refit his rowboat Smiles. She was adrift for almost a year after he was capsized on his Pacific crossing. She made her way upside down to Fiji and was recovered by some local fishermen. The catch is he is doing it in Fiji.

Super exciting! Have you guys named the boat yet? How long will rowing shifts be with just the 3 of you?
Also, I'm very curious to know what percentage of weight the food will be at the start of your journey.

Shifts usually range from 2-4hrs or maybe even longer depending on conditions.

Why not a more enclosed superstructure to protect from UV/ wind/ water?

It’s not as practical really. We can’t have anything that will act like a sail or risk the sled righting capabilities. We will wear uv tech tops and take plenty of suncream!
