You know, if they get Snell and Adames, they're basically just trying to get some of those 2020 Rays their rings. Already got Glasnow, Kiermaier, and Yarbrough a ring this year from that team.
I don't see it. They already have four guys that can play Short in addition to one of the best prospects. Hernandez and pitching with Sasaki and the pen being priorities.
Dodgers can keep Teo and still sign Adames so long as they don't sign a frontline free agent starting pitcher like Snell or Burnes. They'd have to trade for one and pay him less OR sign Sasaki on a minor league contract if the Marines allow him to go.
That changes some things, if he comes here there’s no need to sign another pitcher. Resign Teo and Blake. Get Adames. As much as I love them, Jack and Walker can sign somewhere else.
We need a legit short stop so I wouldn’t be mad as long as we sign Teo first and Blake Treinen. I’m ok with not signing Jack or Walker. We get Roki on a minor league contract and we are set.
If the Dodgers sign Adames, does that make Freeland a possibility to be traded? Does he go into a package with Lux, or does another team give Lux a try at SS?
Clint and Kevin, with all due respect but you're completely off base with Adames. There's absolutely no need to spend on him. 1. That money can be better allocated in the real needs = OF and pitching. 2. The SS is more than covered with Edman, Rojas and Lux (even if he is traded, with the prior 2). 3. You can't (shouldn't) pencil Adames at 3B in the future because then, where's Will going to play? he might not be the catcher for another 10 yrs). 4. The Edman trade talk is nonesense. a. Why would anyone with common sense would trade a guy who's a great glove at 3 different positions (2 of them premium), has some pop, and can be clutch not only in the regular season but, most importantly, in the postseason? b. If the FO has been after him for some yrs now, why would they trade him this quickly? specially when he responded the way he did and was well received in the clubhouse!! c. is a lot cheaper than Adames. 5. The 40-man roster desperately needs a big crunch to make space for the resignings (Teo, Treinen, Ferris, Kiké) and for some FA's that are really needed a.k.a. Fried (or another LHP of that caliber), T. Scott (in Doc's wish list) and none other than Roki who, according to Passan IS going to get posted
Adames would be a good fit. Priority wise is simply re-sign Teoscar. Next is Adames at SS then it’s pitching. Dodgers already most likely getting Sasaki and it’s for a minimal amount. Dodgers can still add a lefty top line starter like Max Fried. The above covers your No 1 point. I’ll explain your other number points in next comments.
No 2. Actually Edman, Miggy, and even Lux isn’t enough at SS for the reg season and especially post season. Adames brings an additional power threat to the Dodgers line up and his OPS is over 1.000 with men in scoring position. This shows he tends to strike out more with the bases empty. Muncy has been batting in the critical 5th spot and he was terrible in the WS. He left many on base. We don’t know if Teoscar can repeat his 2024 performance. It he tails off then the Dodgers could struggle. Will Smith who is the other right hand bat always tails off in post season. This is why the Dodgers need a right handed bat and he happens to play SS. Soto isn’t a good fit because he’s a lefty and his defense sucks in the OF. The Dodgers also already have Pages and Outman for depth and for post season Edman is more needed in CF once we have Adames at SS.
No 3. Agree that Adames shouldn’t be penciled in at 3B but it’s a position the Dodgers shouldn’t worry about too much. For 2025, the Dodgers have Muncy, Miggy, and Taylor. Adames can be an emergency 3B. As far as Will Smith goes, I don’t believe he can eventually play 3B. If anything he simply plays part time catcher and DH. Ohtani is a better choice to play 1B at times to replace Freeman when he retires. This is around 2027/2028. So Ohtani will part time pitch, play 1B and DH. Adames may have a future at 3B too.
No 4. Yes Edman trade talk is crazy but you said it yourself that Edman’s value is his ability to play multiple positions plus be clutch in post season. If Edman is designated for one spot like SS then he can’t move to CF if there is a need there. That’s why Adames is a great fit. While you might say Miggy can play SS. True but only for Reg season. His bat is too inconsistent. He over achieved in 2024 and he’ll be 37 in 2025 and he was injured in post season 2024.
No 5. 40 man roster. Was thinking of listing the current 40 players but instead I’ll list guys who are currently on the 40 man roster: 1. Connor Brogdon 2. Ben Casparious 3. Michael Grove 4. Edgardo Enriquez 5. Zach Logue 6. Brent Honeywell 7. Nick Frasso All of the above are pitchers in which 24 (not including Ohtani) are and only 16 current position players to make up the 40 man current roster. Teoscar, Kike, Treinen, and even Kershaw are not on the roster. Even if all 4 are back, there is still room for 3 additional guys which can be Adames, Fried, and Sasaki. There are other options too. For example. If Fried is obtained then is Kershaw back or the Dodgers can move Hunter Fedducia or Diego Cartaya at C. The Dodgers still have Dalton Rushing. You still want Tanner Scott. Then could the Dodgers move Bobby Miller, Emmit Sheehan, etc.
Fix the Dodgers INF. Rid ourselves of: Muncy Lux Taylor May Sign Adames for 3B Mookie slides to 2B Edman to SS Then sign Sasaki Teo 2 years with club option on 3rd Sign Max Fried. We will repeat IF ALL are Healthy and play to their potential!
Dodgers sign free agent 2025 Willy Adames,Roki Sasaki, Blake snell, Max Fried,Tanner Scott and Carlos Estévez. 2025 dodgers sign Roki Sasaki replacement Jack Flaherty ,dodgers sign max fried replacement walker buehler dodgers sign Scott tanner replacement Daniel Hudson dodgers sign Carlos Estévez replacement Blake Treinen
Rather have TeOcar Hernandez over Willy Adamas!
Prefer both. 😅
They don't take the same position on the field. It's not an either-or. Both are needs.
they can sign both if they dont sign soto
Absolutely adames should be on the dodgers radar.
I'd say definitely resign Teoscar but Adames would be a great add.
Teo+Adames much better than sotto
If you’re in the conversation for Soto, you can definitely afford both Teo and Adames
You know, if they get Snell and Adames, they're basically just trying to get some of those 2020 Rays their rings. Already got Glasnow, Kiermaier, and Yarbrough a ring this year from that team.
They need to focus on Teoscar
According to Kyodo news 10 minutes ago, The Marines have decided to post Roki Sasaki and the Dodgers are heavy favorites to land him.
Thanks guys,peace…

Marines posted Roki last night so if we get him we don’t need to sign a top tier pitcher 😂
Please react to Roki being posted by Lotte
That changes some things, if he comes here there’s no need to sign another pitcher. Resign Teo and Blake. Get Adames. As much as I love them, Jack and Walker can sign somewhere else.
Hassan Kim cheaper hits great defense
The Dodgers are signing everybody 😂😂😂

Freeland?? Colorado Rockies pitcher Freeland??
@@sojc7144 No, Freeland SS in the Dodgers farm system

Yes, I like Adames as a ss go to 3rd as he ages.
