CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Despite the Kid's (Clayton Watson) heroic efforts to reload his weapons, Captain Mifune (Nathaniel Lees) is overcome by a group of squid droids.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Shot back-to-back with The Matrix Reloaded, the third and final installment of Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski's sci-fi action saga picks up where the second film left off. Neo (Keanu Reeves) remains unconscious in the real world, caught in a mysterious subway station that lies between the machine world and the Matrix, and Bane (Ian Bliss) is still a conduit for Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), who continues to grow out of control, threatening to destroy both worlds. Meanwhile, as the sentinels get closer and closer to Zion, the citizens of the earth's last inhabited city prepare for the inevitable onslaught. By bargaining with The Merovingian (Lambert Wilson), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) are able to free Neo who, after meeting with The Oracle (Mary Alice stepping in for the late Gloria Foster), decides that he must leave Zion and head for the machine mainframe. As Neo and Trinity venture into the dangerous machine world, with hopes of stopping both the machines and Agent Smith, their comrades in Zion attempt to fight off the attacking sentinels with the odds stacked greatly against them. Other cast members returning include Monica Bellucci, Ngai Sing, and Harold Perrineau Jr.

Those two soldiers escorting the ammo really are unsung heroes. Running exposed into the battle against flying metal monsters and giving their lives to make sure the ammo was delivered at all costs.
Yes support soldiers are not the ones who conquer the hill or drive the latest iconic weapons , far from it. And they carry high explosives without the armor to protect even from bullets ...and these men here were given their screen time so that the audience knew their importance
while being slashed by the bots was still holding the triggers, a real hero
It was the Aimbot
Aimbot? You do realise most machinery they were handling was not a bot-driven, because the last time they try...well...
@@janusceasar7851 What do you mean, was there an incident or are you preferring the mess they are in now, the machines breaking havoc and stuff? :D
@@Applewille
Kinda like both. The sentinel were bot driven ai who protest(although the first strike was done by human) against the human. Every machinery and weaponry the human use against the machine are really outdated(the armored personel, manually aimed rocket launcher), but also reliable because there is no ai doing the work, but instead done by the human themselves fearing the ai they are using suddenly turned against them in desperation.
@@janusceasar7851 Yeah that makes sense, they don't trust the machines after all they have gone through with them.

Mifune was my favorite character from Revolutions, and he went out like a complete bad ass.
What even more badass is that while the other APU have their back up against the wall. He was the only one standing on a open platform.
@@shy-chan-kyao6394 What makes it even more badass, he never finished the training program either. They've never had to fight in those things like this, ever. But he just hops in one and fights until he can't.
Said it then and will say it again ... He should have gotten an Oscar for that scene.
Screaming doesn't require good acting that's not how an Oscar works. Lol

Aaron Kenyon Hahahaha!! pun intended

GOAT of Captains
The mech IS his balls
Why do you think they have an open cockpit design?
1:38 You can hear the machine hive mind roar as they decide that Captain Mifune is currently a target worth all their combined effort to bring down. You can still see other gun mechs shooting in the background but the machines start ignoring them and all focus directly on Captain Mifune. The machines basically said "ignore these other gun mechs for now, this one over here is absolutely DESTROYING us. Obviously the carry of their team." So badass.
Bro, I seriously never noticed that until now. I always thought he was the last one so they decided to finish him off. Realizing that they saw him as that much more of a threat makes this scene hit *way* harder
This part still gives me chills. Died like a true badass.

WAAAAGH moment
@@pigtoast43 I believe I have ammo therefore I have ammo
It was only the one gun that ran out of ammo though? After the point he says he's out and until he gets more, he only fires one gun while the other is in standby or something.
Which is actually amazing, when you think about it. Man holds off god-knows-how many Sentinels with only one gun for like, a minute before he gets more ammo for his second.
i think they scream reload when they were low, not when they are completely out
Don't insult a movie for a detail you've missed.
The mech was only shooting with its left turret while waiting for the right turret's reload.

So much of this feels like real props
If you compare the CGI of the sentinels to the first film and then to the CGI in Reloaded and Revolutions, it looks a lot fake in comparison. Its insane how 2002 and 2003 perfected the texture of these that looks amazing today.

Truly the best trilogy ever made. Reloaded and Revolutions just got a bit too complex in the plot but if you're in touch with all the details its incredible. The Matrix was really so far ahead of its time, it could have been made 25 years later and it would still destroy all other sci-fi easily.

This man gives me serious legendary honourfull samurai kamikaze vibes! His "noooo!" Is so powerfull!!
"KNUCKLE UP ROOKIE!!!!!" Man I love this movie!!!
I love this scene. But I remember being so pissed at the mech design while watching this. There is no protection for the operator other than a constant stream of outgoing lead. That's a helluva design oversight.
what good would armor do. that would only limit the already limited mobility they would have, reduce their field of vision, and only offer subpar protection since the sentinels would break though it as if it were tin. in fact from what i recall hearing in the past APUs had armor but that worked as well as housing yourself in a soup can. amour was irrelevant so might as well put everything into firepower.
To answer your question: the armor would protect the pilot from ricochets, shell fragments, friendly fire (a real problem when there are dozens of mechs shooting in every direction!), and, of course, from getting flayed alive by flying robot scalpels.
You are correct that armor would limit the field of vision, but at these levels of lethality, having a full field of vision is less important than staying alive. The clearest real world example to that lies in the design and operation of a battle tank. And as to the statement that the sentinels could just go through the armor, please note the fact that the sentinels were unable to do any damage to the mech iteself. They killed the man. After this scene, the Kid is able to right and pilot the mech because it withstood the assault. The armor housing the pilot would be made of the same material.
That was what I meant when I mentioned the fact that the lack of armor felt like a design flaw. I'm sure the Wachowski Brothers did this because having armor obscures the pilot from the camera and would reduce the emoting in this scene. I understand their creative choice, but it killed the immersion for me.
all things considered if the sentinels wanted to they can do much more to the APUs then what they did. the sentinels here were merely toying with the humans using only swarm tactics due to their overabundant numbers and as we have seen of the sentinels of the past they took down heavily armored APU models easily.

Watch Animatrix, also another explanation is to use the leftover metal for more mechs.
After a couple years it’s still one of the most badass ways to go out
After so long, it made me realize.
The reason why the squids turned almost all their attention to Captain Mifune isn't because he is handling them and carrying the last of the APUs on the dock; they got together to get rid of him because he was the closest one to opening the gate and could potentially unlock it for the Hammer to break thru with the EMP.
