*cough* *cough* Yea... uh... totally... no seriously jokes aside, the way he's shilling for Bethesda and Amazon since the Fallout TV show came out, shows his true colors. The money and fame got to his head. It's really sad but expected.
same. he also overuses the word “overall”. i watched his fallout 1 remake video recently and he says something like: “fallout 1 was a more hardcore rpg overall”, then a minute later he says “i placed the dynamite and collapsed the cave overall”. i feel like its kind of an improper use of the word
lmao same but for me I stopped when he started making those "X thing got a MASSIVE update" and spend 9 of the 10 minutes talking about the game and what was about only to the last few seconds started talking about the thing and it was only a twit the development made saying some cryptic shit or was just a update that fixed like two bugs v:
I first played FO3 in 2018 and really liked despite having some issues, then I remember finding out about a fallout spin off called "New Vegas?" it wasn't made by bethesda, that got me interested and I finally played it... oh boy the best decision in my life! Literally in my top 3 games of all time. EDIT: playing through Starfield, Skyrim, FO3 and FO4 (Which I played for +200h) now I see how bad bethesda is at making RPG's, yes big worlds and exploration is their best (except Starfield lol), but the story in pretty much all Bethesda games is bad. New Vegas succeeds in everything Bethesda always failed to accomplish.
A very relatable video! My first PC was also a potato that I bought in about 2017 as a responce to Fallout 4 console mods on Xbox. I remember thinking how much mods improved that game, imagine how much it would improve New Vegas - my favourite game of all time. On that old potato, I got fps in the low tens, but it was a special experience I will always remember in my personal gaming history. I learned how to use FNVEdit on that thing to customise weapons and armour. There's something about playing on a potato that makes one's imagination do the heavy lifting. I think the best thing about classics like New Vegas is how it brings like minded individuals from all kinds of backgrounds together to places like your channel.
Despite using an ai/machine learning voice i find your videos very heartwarming I've watched every single one of your videos for about 10 months and i want you to know that you got em into Vegas modding despite not having any of the dlcs
thanks man, i am working on a replacement for the ai voice. one of my friends said she can help with the voiceover but she wont take any payment. this is why i am a bit hesitant. theres no way i will make her do that much work and not pay anything.
I lived in real life "new vegas" and i found a true capitalist radio video that spliced the host's voice to sing Jingle jangle, i searched the song up, found a game that took place in the very city i am living in atm through that so ng and i fell in love. It was also the first FPS and mature game ive played, and I was begging and begging for my mom to get me the ps3 version. before FNV it was just spongebob games and mario or zelda games. I was 11 at the time and i got new vegas in 2011. Like, really if I didnt live in las vegas I wouldnt have cared for the game at all and probably just played something else like call of duty or something. I legit was trying to find where I lived approximately on the map and I ended up in north vegas lol. But yea since I was really young, the cowboy aesthetic i didnt understand, the gameplay reminded me of COD and Battlefield, the games my friends were playing, it was just a game that took place in my hometown and that blew my mind since my kid brain thought las vegas was too niche of a city to be in a game at all and wasnt at all like new york or los angeles.
hahah, when I was younger I was also in mobile games. I got my first laptop in 2020 and it started from there. I got new vegas as my first game as I had seen it on the PS3 when my stepdad played it. Went from there
My nephews are always playing mobile games, so I think that's probably common for how people gradually try out games nowadays. The Fallout 3 hot take is really not a hot take, believe me lol. Nowadays, I think most people end up agreeing that Fallout 3 is hollow, though it also doesn't deserve some of the heat it gets; criticism yes, absolutely, but it's not _teeeeerrible,_ it's just ok. The fact that we've had worse since then also leads to some re-examination, as is often the case with such middle-of-the-road games over time. And yeah, as you talked about replaying games, there's what I mean haha, sometimes we re-examine stuff and we're like "ehh, it wasn't that great/bad", I suppose it's only with time and further replays that we develop a more refined version of our opinion, recency bias being a thing and all that. Thanks for sharing your story, glad you're having a good time, I hope you continue discovering new interesting things. The fact that you keep trying stuff has led you here, so I'd say yeah, continue doing that.
@@NiiRubra yeah, to be honest back then I was not that big of a video game guy. I was still playing but I also liked novels and story books. I still read some novels but the amount has decreased a bit.
yea, i though it was different video so maybe i will use footage from the other games i play. that nv footage was from my last strip video. currently i am working on fallout 4 video.
honestly i had a terrible first impression of NV bc of the extremely rabid NV fans making this game seem like a god-gift game. Obviously after finishing the game like 2 times, i did not like it cuz they gave me so much high expectations. 2 years later however (and with over 200 mods lol), i came to appreciate NV so much more, and surprise to no one, its my favourite fallout game. i think part of that reason is at the tiem, i started to actually like rpg games, and also ive been staying away from the community. i still really love Fallout 4 and 3, but NV has like the perfect roleplaying aspect, and with some mods, its an amazing experience
Maybe you are right about it, but think about playing NV in 2010 and tell me if your opinion changes, compare it to skyim which came a year after, NV beats the living shit out of Skyrim "Betheda's Greatest RPG". OBS: RPG-wise, I'm not talking about polish or modern controls, remember NV team had 18 months to make this game using GAMEBRYO and not Creation Engine.
I didn't initially get how amazing ("lightning in a bottle" per @ToxicWhiteoutGaming) FNV was, either. I'd really enjoyed FO3 (I was a spry 44 years old when it was released), and probably played it through 2 or 3 times when FNV was released. I enjoyed FNV, but when I was done, I missed FO3 so I played it again. I went back and forth 1 or 2 more times before I realized these games weren't equals at all. I stopped playing FO3 entirely because it was lifeless and flat and other words for "dull". When TTW came out a few years later, I thought that might be a fun way to play FO3 again, but a few hours in I was bored and all I could think about was getting back to the Mojave Wasteland. I honestly don't think another game could ever reach the heights of FNV. The location, the music, the writing, the voice actors, the writing, the quests, the jokes, the writing, the factions, the originality, the writing, the DLCs, and the MODs, omg the MODs...they just keep on coming and keep on getting better! Will never be another game like it.
New Vegas is great, it was the first game to really get me to roleplay, at first just as characters I knew, but then it made me trans and now I'm better at making characters.
at first i was playing the goody two shoes character but soon i was so immersed it pushed towards making difficult choices. i had to do some bad stuff even when i was a good guy. that is sign of a great RPG
hey btw i dont mean to be rude or anything, if anything I support it but do you use GPT for your scripts? They kinda sound like how GPT helps me form my words to sound more professional
I also wanted so much to like Fallout 3. Played 1 and 2 and waited eagerly for Fallout 3 for almost 6 years. It was my biggest disappointment in gaming history. Thankfully Obsidian got to make New Vegas so we could have one last good Fallout. A great closure for an amazing trilogy: Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas.
I hear you, for me it was Spore, if you look at all of the presentations of that game, how it was talked about, and what it turned out to be when it came out, you'll see where I'm coming from. I think everyone ends up having that one game, the one that kind of removes our naivete when it comes out and doesn't match expectations at all. It is good that with Fallout, we did get a better follow up, at least.
I wish i could enjoy fallout 4 like some of these comments. At launch it was meh except for the world. Years later and after whole lot of mods i concluded that Fallout 4 is only fun on survival with very few essential mods
New Vegas is the greatest game of all time in my opinion. Truly feels like lightning in a bottle. Great video!

By the time i met FNV,in 2018 i had played 1.200 hrs of Team Fortress 2 on my potato office pc that my dad got in a bin
the only game i have more hours than NV is payday 2, back then i use to grind that game as hell.
You know for me it was playing 4 and realizing it sucked then I modernized new Vegas with mods and realized I had gold on my hands.

8 gb ram, Intel hd integrated graphics and an Intel i3 7th gen processor
It's not really a hot take to say fallout 3 is shit
it's just the truth, FO3 is a turn off brain type of game whereas NV is focused on narrative freedom and true RPG mechanics.
