Glad to see you get it too. Sure I could have read the instructions... ended up re-doing the increased "Overdrive". Its semantics, but any other brand if you buy something for "Overdrive", you are installing a part that is in the front drivetrain. So yeah, I put the 11% on the front and it didn't work right. Wondered how many others did the same and asked on Facebook, got a couple that did it as well, but also got a few that argued that it is "Overdrive" and not "Underdrive".
Yeah it’s under driving the rear. The overall result is an overdriven front as compared to the rear.

I’ve got one of those transmissions on my work bench right now. It’s going into my Ascender.
I agree 100% about the hard vs soft plastic issue. We shouldn’t have to pay to fix their design flaw.
It’s what is keeping me from buying the truck or kit. If they add the hard plastic parts in the future, without having to pay extra, then I will pick one up.
Where are you getting a skidplate that fits this transmission to put in an Ascender?
@@OutdoorsWithShawn , I had originally hoped to narrow the Enduro skid to fit the Ascender chassis, but the Enduro skid is too short between the link mounts as well. So atm the Stealth trans is on the sideline. I think I am going to have to make a custom skid at this point.

Jewel of the Kit is the transmission with all the metal gears. That should be what Element offers as a separate assembly. Associated also sells a 32P 56T spur gear (ASC 7957) that perfectly replaces the 48P 87T gear in the Stealth X Gearbox Kit (How is plastic gearing Stealth????????).

For sure, I watched the video on the truck before it was even shipped and a few days later watched the video of the hard plastic replacement parts up grades. Totally seemed like a scam as they should have be on the truck already,I agree!

Proper UD/OD options is what kept me from changing over to scx10 ii in the first place.
Looks like a sc6.1 clutch shoes and spring would work.
Wrc Hobby If you have one please give it a try. I’ll ask around locally and see if anyone has a clutch for that model.
OK so I bought the truck kit, been trying to figure out the point of flipping the trans front or back. Its in the same spot so it can't be for weight distribution, what am I missing here?

Is there any difference between overdriving the front and underdriving the rear? Seems like semantics to me.
If it's done in the axles, for sure but not sure about the trans method
I agree on the thoughts about this truck... completely un-impressive!!!! I was at PLBTF (Pro Line by the Fire) when this truck was on display, not only was I not even impressed, I was under impressed lol. holding the truck in my hand I noted major slop in the drive train, $hitty panhard mount WTF?, and lame looking axles. Just as a joke I tried to start a conversation with the Rep first asking if AE was still open to feedback about the about the truck in general & the panhard mount design - the guys response (with 4 witnesses I shit you not) was, "well, this is how our engineers designed and tested it, so it's fine). He also said about 14 times "the trans is a standard bolt pattern so it will fit axial, also axial standard bumper mounts and so on about axial compatibility. I will certainly not be buying one of these, maybe the trans.
P F I really like the transmission. It’s huge compared to the axial though.
Couldn't agree with you more on the Sendero rig. I think the installed soft part and "buy our hard parts" thing is a complete money-grab. I highly doubt the hard parts are more money to manufacture, so why not include them in the RTR & Kit?!
Your simple statement on the Element gives the perfect example of every rig out there.
I seen a very harsh & mean Element review by a Aussie guy who has hardly any RC experience. You know...people should get some actual time under their belt...real experience building numbers in rtr and kits and scratch build rigs of more than one manufacturer(Cross in this case) before they review stuff. Every rig...kit or rtr has problems as minimal as they are.
Really tho...nobody I know has had mechanical issues with the soft parts. I guess it's better to flex than break.
At least it's not Tamiya plastic.
Agree again on the AE transmission....I'm sure it'll end up in alot of none Element rigs.

Question why do you have to change the top shaft to flip the motor? I literally took my skid plate off and flipped it around and I didn’t have to change anything. Wondering if you did that so you could increase the overall speed of both front and rear ratios?
because of the OD/UD in the transmission. if you just spun it around you may be Overdriving the rear now
I got the transmission kit after driving my enduro and stuck this transmission in my scx10ii
You have to do the same thing with the trx4 and you have atleast 3 it has the same problems as alot of trucks.

correct me if im wrong but, it looks like a fatter ax10 trans out of an axial and the bolt pattern looks like it would work to mount to an scx10 skid plate. is that the case? the links ate for the rtr, where can i get just that trans?

Is there a benefit in having a slipper on a crawler. Because I have spare Team Associated slipper kits laying around.
yeah I like having a slipper, when set right you will never know its there but when bound up they will save parts.
Thanks. Any thoughts on dig units for this gear box? I’d love to see one of your comparison videos with and without one. Thats if there’s a dig unit out there that fits the Stealth X.

What tooth spur gear comes with the trans
not really sure I didn't count them
I'm currently having issues with my trailwalker (blue version), for whatever reason the front drive feels like there's a stiff spot almost like a bind is about to happen, I've stripped the front, rear and centre diff but all behave smoothly. When driving it feels like the spur gear is egg shaped, I tried running with the spur loose but the stiff spot is happening.
If I lift the rear of the truck and roll the front it feels like a stiff spot, if I lift the front and roll the rear it's smooth but I can''t see where the tight spot is...
I'm about ready to bin the thing...
Did you put in Oversrive? If so the front spins faster than the rear, that can cause drag when driving. Also you may need to shim between the driveshaft and outer bearing at the axle to keep the pinion correctly positioned.
@@ExocagedRC Hi again, just a quick update to say I fixed it, I''m currently running stock overdrive (5% faster?) but this binding issue was happening with the front wheels only.
I stripped the front diff again and realised the pinion was sliding forwards and backwards out of alignment as you suggested with the shim's. I'm about to do the rear as a precaution.
What a headache! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

lol its not so bad with all the reduction, but yeah I'd rather have 32p too.
Astute comment, skirmich. I own the Enduro, and it's okay, but a long list of things reveals that it was designed by folks with tons of asphalt experience, who never owned a crawler. Try getting those recessed (mistake) m2 (mistake) screws out of the skidplate, after you've been in the dirt. And that's just one example.
